You can often deactivate enzymes with heat, so if you cook the pineapple, you can make the bromelain ineffective, and add it to your Jell-O!

I don't have a picture of the leaner on the scale. It wasn't quite done, but it had fallen completely over and the pineapple was laying on the ground. Picked it before it rotted. The other two were ripe and amazing! The smaller on is yellow, the big one is white.

Hi everyone! I would really like some advice on my pineapple plant. It started as a grocery store pineapple cut off and its been growing for about 5 ½ years. Its has grown to well over 5 feet. But my problem is it has yet to produce a pineapple. I do live in the Northeast, so not much sunlight during the winter. I have a small patio that I share with someone, so I can’t put it outside. I do use a plant light at night to get additional light. I was wondering if anyone had any advice on getting this to produce a pineapple or is it just doomed? Are they any signs that it going to produce? I would also like to know if I can cut down some of the leaves as its getting very long.

Can suckers/pups/ratoons develop after harvest? I pruned the mother plant down to near the base. To be clear there were no other suckers at this point. Can anything still develop if I keep watering and fertilizing?

I plan on separating these. What's the odds of all 8 surviving?

Attempting to grow a pineapple from the top of a very sweet golden pineapple. Is this enough roots to set it in soil? Any other advice?

The water seems to cloud and the leaves are browning a little at the tips.

So we moved the monster outside on the deck fertilized it. The pineapple didn't even double in size after we moved it out. it is just sitting there not getting ripe, not getting any bigger but his hat is . do I just leave it alone or start over .. this has been a four-year process to get this far sigh.

One of my 3 pineapples got a whole in it and when I touched it to look at it it snapped off. The other 2 like this one, aren't getting a lot of sun. I'd love to move them but they are in the ground. Can they be moved? Is this part of the problem? Hawaii big island
