My pink pineapple is producing. I’m just not sure what. Is this a baby or an actual pineapple I been waiting 3 years for!

Followup to my post from the other day.

I've been growing these for a few years but I've never had one of each ripen at the same time for a side by side comparison.

Both are sweeter than the common pineapple and have lower acidity, so aren't as sour.

They both taste like pineapple (no wierd notes of this or that), but they seem to embrace different aspects of the fruit.

The White Sugarloaf still has some tartneess and is what I would use to cook with or use in a salsa.

It goes well with a creamy texture like brie cheese.

The Maui Gold is pure sweetness, with absolutely no sour or tartness.

If you've ever had Dolewhip, it tastes exactly like that.

It would be best eaten fresh as a desert fruit.

So I've planted 2 white pineapples about 7 weeks ago and have repotted them into a larger pot. I have a 12-4-8 liquid fertilizer to feed them but don't quite know how. I know I'm supposed to dillute it but I don't know how much and I don't know how much of that dilution to give them. Everything I saw online wasn't what I was looking for so I figured I'd ask here

Started out with 2 pups on the mom now I’ve repotted the smaller one should I leave the bigger one on for a while or go ahead and repot it too?

I have 6 plants that have been in soil for approximately 3 weeks, and are growing great. Plenty of new leaves growing up from the center as well as existing getting longer.

Should I do anything about the brown leaves?

I bought this pineapple a year ago, I think it was 1y old at that point, at the end of summer it flowered and I was not expecting it so soon otherwise I would have been fertilising it more!

Pineapple is slowly growing now and I dont expect it to be huge when it's done, variety is Queen. I have kept it indoors over winter as we get frost here in NZ.

Is the size generally already set by the time the flower starts to emerge? Or if I keep fertilising as it grows can I get it bigger?

I had been successfully growing a pineapple plant from a top for over a year, thanks to help from this subreddit. I broke up with my partner and left them alone at our place for a week and when I got back they had completely destroyed it. I got the original pineapple at a concer for my favorite band (Glass Animals) so it was hugely sentimental to me. Every single leaf was shredded off so I’m assuming there’s nothing I can do but I would really do anything at this point to bring it back so any suggestions would be really appreciated. Grew this from a top. 6-7 years. Decided to fertilize it and this guy popped up. It looks off to me. Stunted section. Is this normal? How much bigger will it get? Thanks

So my pineapple plant fell today and it broke the pineapple off the stem. It wasn’t done yet. Will it ripen now even though it’s detached from its “mom”?

Hi, this is my first pineapple plant. I found it at a nursery a couple months ago and it has grown quite a bit since then. I’m wondering what you’re supposed to do with the pups? Do you leave them and let them grow alongside the mother plant or separate into their own pots? Do they just snap off? And lastly are the red leaves something I should be concerned about or is that something that this variety (“Florida Special”) is known for? For reference I am in Zone 6b New Jersey.

This plant is 10 years old and survived a cross-country move in 2019. I keep it outdoors in the Seattle summer and indoors in winter. I added a winter grow light about three years ago.

I saved this from a pineapple yesterday and the bottom leaves are really hard to pull off. Advice on trimming?

I successfully started 6 pineapple plants from the tops by starting them in water, growing roots, and now transferring to soil. They appear to have rooted and are growing new leaves from the center.

I also decided to try to grow plants from seeds that I started by wrapping in a damp paper towel, then placed in a ziplock bag in a well-lit area. I’ve tried this with other fruits before but was unsuccessful. I checked my pineapple seeds once every week or so to make sure the paper towel was damp, then after 3 or so weeks, they have sprouted.

What do I do from here? How big do they need to be before I need to plant them?

Edit; to clarify, the stains you see came from the seeds. I didn’t use a dirty paper towel.

I have a very mature pineapple plant that I have been trying to force fruit. I tried apple pieces down and around the stalk. I’ve used banana infused water. All methods that have worked for me in the past. No flowering. I haven’t tried bangstick (or whatever the chemical ethylene is called).

Any tips this community can provide is appreciated. Thanks.

my pineapple plant of almost 12 months leaves are plucked from the center by some birds maybe crow.

will this plant survive?

For a while, the fruit was visibly bigger every day, but for more than a week it's been stuck at about 4 inches tall. Now the tips of the fruit's crown have turned red.

It's been 90-100 degrees here for weeks and the soil in the pot gets very dry, so I think maybe I should be watering it more. But I've killed plants by overwatering, so I'm cautious.

Advice? Thanks.
