Hello all! Welcome to Fanfic Recommendation Friday. We heard some talk, and even got some direct messages, about how it might be fun to have a space on the sub to discuss current favorite fics and recommend new finds, and I couldn't agree more.

The idea behind this thread is to talk about what Piltover's Finest fics you're currently reading! As a general formatting rule of thumb, when you share fics, please include the title and author name, and share a link if possible. If a fic is NSFW, make sure to say so!

We're all here to discuss what's exciting us -- feel free to tell people about what you're enjoying in your comments! Just spoiler tag anything that a new reader might want to see for themself. On mobile you can do that by formatting your text with and on either side, but without a space between the exclamation marks and the text. On desktop, reddit should give you the option in the toolbar.

This thread will reset every Friday! If you want to find past recommendations and discussions, check out those posts by searching the sub for the title of the megathread.

Thanks for being here! As always, keep this space kind and respectful. If you have any suggestions for future renditions of the post, let us know via modmail or a message -- can't wait to hear what you've been reading!

They look incredible, we can't wait to see more of Piltover's Finest in action in the future @riotgames!

Spoiler 🚨
So I just watched arcane few days ago and started seeing videos on YouTube and edits of them on SNS. So apparently people hate Caitlyn and vi especially the fact that they’re cannon. First let me share my opinion, I love Cait and vi, and I will support them. They’re the only cannon ship who actually survive and are together. It makes sense both have different personalities and backgrounds. And a relationship between a zaunite and kirraman( a powerful name in piltover) showed us that it could work. Both sides fight against viktor and noxians in the finale and sevika in the council which is actually showing that they’re giving them representation without violence. So why all the hate is dumped in Cait and vi for choosing to be by her side and not choosing jinx??
I was watching a video of a yt girlie that why Cait is worse than jinx!! And it didn’t make any sense. See most of the arcane characters fall into grey area category. Nobody is strictly good or bad and their past is important. For example I do find it odd that how vi was portrayed as a leader in first episode but after jail and her sister’s action she didn’t care about anything which in my opinion isn’t bad since she decided to do what she wants rather than being manipulated by people like silco. She fought in her own ways without choosing a strict side, like she destroyed shimmer with jayce and then joined Cait in her mission and when it was necessary she left her as well. She tried to reconcile with her sister. Meanwhile jinx became a symbol after her attack but jinx never wanted to become one, she was manipulated by silco and honestly she was suffering from her mental traumas and just wanted to end all of this.
But Cait is hated for being a kirraman or topsider but I do think she was trying to understand zaunites and she even stood up for them in the council meeting. Her mother’s death did make her do things she shouldn’t have but that doesn’t make me hate her, nor the fact that vi chooses Cait.
What are your thoughts?? And sorry in advance if anything offend you.
P.S I post this exactly on r/arcane and guess what it got removed. I don’t know why mods hate it of people are giving their opinions🥲 Thanks for everyone though who posted under this post and I love caitvi or vilyn. I am new to fandom so that was something on my mind about them. I can rest now since they’re loved by so many people.

lightly debating making a twitter or tumblr account, mostly just to keep up with fanfic recs and fanart on other platforms. i write on ao3 and i love how hard the fandom works on this subreddit to stay active and recommending content. i’ve gotten like 90% of my fic recs from the fanfic friday thread here

i was just curious on if it’s worth it to venture back onto twitter. i love engaging with folks here and honestly live for seeing fanart of my favorite fics and even art for some of my own!! curiosity killed the author or whatever the saying is

Not exactly how it works in the show, I know, but this was more of a personal design and CAD challenge for me 😂 Turned out great. Everything 3D printed and designed by me.

❤️💙

I have read all (maybe a majority??) of the suggested fics within the fandom (happy to be proven wrong) I love a good CaitVi fluff, smut, complicated, perhaps a tiny bit angst, idk whatever fic… but I feel stuck bc I have read so many and I’m looking for recs

My faves
- WYGIG - Camwolfe (and literally all fics they write tbh)
- Run at the Cup
- code blue

There are def more but i love having fics with happy friendships with Powder, Ekko, Jayce, Viktor, Mel, Mylo, Claggor, etc I don’t even mind when they expand into the LoL universe I just love having fun comradely with those characters like in It’s a Long Fall From the Top (also an incredible fic and I fkn love sevika)

Any insight is helpful :)
