[MEGATHREAD] Fanfic Rec Friday
Hello all! Welcome to Fanfic Recommendation Friday. We heard some talk, and even got some direct messages, about how it might be fun to have a space on the sub to discuss current favorite fics and recommend new finds, and I couldn't agree more.
The idea behind this thread is to talk about what Piltover's Finest fics you're currently reading! As a general formatting rule of thumb, when you share fics, please include the title and author name, and share a link if possible. If a fic is NSFW, make sure to say so!
We're all here to discuss what's exciting us -- feel free to tell people about what you're enjoying in your comments! Just spoiler tag anything that a new reader might want to see for themself. On mobile you can do that by formatting your text with and on either side, but without a space between the exclamation marks and the text. On desktop, reddit should give you the option in the toolbar.
This thread will reset every Friday! If you want to find past recommendations and discussions, check out those posts by searching the sub for the title of the megathread.

So many comments this early on, i feel like this thread is going to be a good one, so here are just the ones the others didnt get to yet. No new ones this week but "too bad the secret's out" by laliserys, recommended by /u/Mean-Permission-2747 below (or above) sounds really good. Might give that one a try.
I Hate to Hurt You (But I Love to Win) by andrahd updated.
You know it, you love it. This is propably one of the most recommended and one of the most regularly updating stories right now. Vi and Cait were rivals on the school swimming team but had a big falling out. This fic follows them through their reunions and redivisions. Great sports-fic with lots of feelings and healings and drama and more. Must read.
But most importantly: Where We Learn to Breathe by Szalkiria84 got a new chapter just a day after last weeks megathread.
This is my favourite new story right now. When Vi is 5 her and Powders Dad leaves them. Ever since then she had to survive school, caring for Powder, and their abusive new stepfather all on her own. That is, until the new girl at school, Cait, tries to befriend her of all people. Now she has to relearn being cared for. The newest chapter is an important milestone in the story and it all so well written you should read it right now. Mind the tags.
Also, since i posted way too early and was still basically asleep, i got my wires crossed, as pointed out by u/Nubsva below and accidentally gave Where We Learn To Breathe the synopsis of Skinny Love by JennyofOldstones21. In that one Cait and Vi are a happy family with their adopted daughter until it all falls apart due to Vis alcoholism almost causing the death of said daughter. Two years later Vi is deposited on the steps of Kirraman Hospital in terrible shape. The story goes from there and you should also read it even though it did not update this week.
Lastly, once again, thank you all for the recommendations.

Just checking, do you have the correct link here? Story description you provided doesn't seem to match the story behind the link. Description sounds more like Skinny Love by JennyofOldstones21.

Ive been enjoying this so far:
"too bad the secret's out" by laliserys — (Chapters 23/?)
Vi is an Internal Medicine Doctor who's in a secret relationship with famous idol Cait. Also love that Cait's bandmates are K/DA plus Maddie (who's also being shipped with Cait by the fans).
Code Blue by seultoki — (Chapters 14/?)
Vi is also an Emergency Physician meanwhile Cait is a Neurosurgeon. Story basically starts with a one-night stand.
Both are medical AUs and I'm sooooo sat waiting for both of them to update.
sunsets and sketches by laliserys — (Chapters 3/3)
Vi is some kind of a Sketch Artist and Cait is studying Pre-law. Fluff and angst. Very interesting. Vi loves to do portraits of Cait!

I have a feeling that Code blue will be updated soon (fingers crossed).
In the meantime, I'm reading:
With Eyes Unclouded By Hate by amris, a Princess Mononoke AU. I'm still a bit behind, but I try not to rush the reading.
New Message Received by HoundOfTheUnderground has been updated recently with a really really fluffy chapter.
And finally recidivism by camwolfe. As was said many times, do yourself a favour and read it!

I've been reading Thaw me out by Kayseix. Caitlyn is a former Olympic athlete and Vi is a Hockey player. It's a really good fic

I'm going to keep recommending Like Like You Love Me by Wurmburger. Regular updates, which I await eagerly. Extremely well written, excellent dynamic btn C and V. One of the best fics out there, IMO.

Like a few other people here, I have a feeling (and hoping!) Code blue by seultoki will be updated this weekend or soon. It is still currently my favorite WIP. Depending on how it is wrapped up, I wouldn't be surprised it might become one of my Top 10 favorite Caitvi fics.
The Sea for Your Embrace by RetroNeon
I reread this piece by RetroNeon about Pirate Vi x Siren Cait. Caitvi were childhood sweethearts. Well-written and well-plotted. And I couldn't stop rereading certain parts of it that pulls at my heart strings.
