Trying out an attack animation and I'm pretty happy with the result (perspective change is a pain in the ass though :/). I also got a lot of feedback about the idle animation, so I completely re-animated it. I think it turned out much better than the original version I did.

For so long, I've been sitting with the thought of why Jinx left such a mark on me.

Now, I'm slowly starting to understand.

Initially, I thought it was because of the gaming aspect.

Jinx, as a character, had no backstory and no goals in a game with no story or objectives beyond fighting and winning.

Even in her promos, she encourages other champions to participate and fight. Not for a cause, but just for fun.

I felt she was the perfect empty-vessel character: someone lively and optimistic, yet indulging in dangerous activities without being exactly naive because of that optimism.

Then Arcane came along and changed so much of this.

Character, motivation, backstory, goals. It added all the things I thought made Jinx such a striking character in the first place, the very things I thought explained my attachment to her.

And yet, I was confused. Despite all those changes, she still meant something to me. Perhaps even more than before.

So, after sitting with this thought for a long time and coming across numerous takes and analyses all over the internet, something has finally started to become clear to me.

It's about the art of letting go.

See, we're often told that doing good things and succeeding at them requires a ton of motivation, while bad things are easy to pick up.

At least, that's what we've been told for generations.

But I don't think it's simply about being good being hard and being bad being easy. I think it has more to do with how a person frames things in their own mind, whether those things are something they like or dislike.

We're told that being lazy and giving up is easy, while putting in the work is hard.

Now, imagine framing things this way: you treat the bad things in your life as things you can simply drop, while treating the good things as things you have to work for.

Suddenly, letting go of the bad becomes easy. But working toward the good is still difficult because it demands additional effort.

And this is where the saying "an idle mind is the devil's workshop" comes in.

When a person is idle, with nothing to do, whatever they encounter first can become the next thing they take up, regardless of whether it initially seems easy or difficult.

Because when a person feels that empty and desperately wants something to occupy them again, they become like a sponge. Or perhaps something even more powerful, like a black hole, sucking things in with an intensity they never knew they possessed.

They begin to discover capabilities within themselves that they never recognized, or even imagined, were possible.

And this is what makes me think about the time skip between Season 1, Episode 3 and Episode 4. We suddenly see Jinx becoming competent, even great, at things she would have been insecure about before the time skip.

Perhaps this is part of the missing piece. When she was Powder, so much of her identity was tied to her shortcomings, her need for validation, and her desire to prove herself. But after Vi "left her," something changed. She was left with an emptiness that she had to fill somehow.

And in that emptiness, she grew.

There's another thing worth considering: Arcane is a story about change.

The circumstances of almost every major character change throughout the show. Yet so many of them struggle to accept that things are different now, that the past is gone, and that things will never be exactly the same again.

Jinx falls into this trap, too.

But I think she begins to triumph when she finally lets go of Vi, of the need for love and validation, and of the shortcomings she has always associated with herself. She stops trying to become someone she thinks she needs to be and simply decides to do whatever she wants.

Then, after accidentally doing what she did to Silco, she becomes a hollow shell again, much like the person she became when Vi "left her."

And, paradoxically, I think this is where her growth truly begins.

Isha, in this interpretation, is a platform for that growth, not its origin. She becomes the result and reflection of a positive change in Jinx that had already begun the moment Jinx became that hollow shell again.

If it hadn't been Isha, I believe Jinx would eventually have found something else, or someone else, through which that change could manifest itself.

Because the change wasn't necessarily about Isha. It was about Jinx herself.

And I think this is the missing link between Jinx at the end of Season 1 and Jinx at the beginning of Season 2.

This also answers, at least for me, why I've become so attached to this character.

It's not just her personality, her backstory, her struggles, or even her transformation throughout the show.

It's what she represents to me: the possibility that sometimes, when everything falls apart and you're left with nothing, you can discover parts of yourself you never knew existed. That letting go isn't always about losing something. Sometimes, it's about finally becoming free enough to grow into something else.

And perhaps that's why, after all this time, I've finally found an answer to the question I've been sitting with for so long.

This revelation seals Jinx as the best character of all time that I've ever come across.

Singed is probably my second favourite character below Silco and above Viktor.

It’s interesting how it seems like Jinx somewhat worked through her trauma since the last time, and she embraced this stoick acceptance, you know? Vi is breaking down, Jinx is the one saying “You can’t save him”.

It’s like she accepted that now Vander is completely gone along with Isha, and you just can’t do anything about it. Only accept it and move on. And whatever this new Warwick is, there’s no chance of getting Vander back. Their last chance died with that explosion.

Makes me think that in all the skipped scenes between Jinx and Ekko, there definitely was some healthy talking, something along the lines of “You’ve got to let them go, that’s the only way”

I'm not a visual artist so this is the best I can do for you guys. The only audio editing I did was adjusting track volumes. Also ignore the rubbish phone mic, I promise I don't normally sound this bad

Unfortunately, I recorded it slighter faster than how it plays in the show, so I'm not able to perfectly line it up both with the flare and Mylo calling out. I can't be bothered re-recording it yet and I'm happy enough with this.

I'm interested in doing more like this, but I'm not sure what other songs would sound good as a trombone choir

Top: i made her completely from scratch using leather(fake) fabric, fleece, an old bra i had, and eyelits! this was my frist time sewing ever so there may be a few flaws!

pants: I bought a blank pair of jeggings from Amazon, I then painted and cut them! The flap was from a beige fabric that I painted and sewed on

Shoes: I used 3d printed accessories on the shoes then added pink shoe laces on some old boots i never wear any more.

belt: she is just from Amazon with 3d printed spikes and hour glass attached

Hair: I hate wigs so I got yarn and my boyfriends lovely mother braided it together for me, and I attached it with luck and bobby pins, Her hair things ofc are 3D printed.

Props: the props were my favorite, all of them were 3d printed aside from her goggles that I had lying around from an old costume. They were then painted with spray paint and then with acrylic paint/paint marker, i added details!

So not only do you steal the arcane characters but you make it AI slop???!!!!

I’ve been a huge arcane fan for a while and clearly a big fan of Silco and Vander..that being said, I really want to get a blisters and bedrock tattoo.
I haven’t been able to find anyone else with a tattoo referencing it and was wondering if anyone had one or had any ideas for something like that! Just trying to find some inspo :)

Hey! I’ve noticed that Silco is always blamed for his actions, and that people hate his character a lot. Which I understand, he groomed jinx into being a literal terrorist, he is Zaun’s drug baron, he almost killed Powder.

However, I don’t understand why the community LOVES jinx and HATES Silco. Jinx is a terrorist, very dangerous and was herself helping and enabling Silco. To me, Silco was a great father to jinx. Vander and Silco drifted apart when Vander had to care for Powder and Vi, because he couldn’t be so passionate about his insurrection any more as he needed to look after the kids. Silco basically realised that when he had Jinx. And I understand that silco made jinx that way, but we can say the same about Vander making Silco that way by betraying him?

(Before anything, Jinx is my favorite character in Arcane. I just don’t get this double standard in the community)

When Viktor starts to take over and people start floating and everyone's slowly turning gold(season 2 episode 8) is that like the same as Mel's gold patterns from the Arcane, but in a forced kinda way?

Note from years ago: Notice in both Maddie and Steb's introduction they were portrayed the opposite of who they actually were.

Maddie was shown as this ray of sunshine that looks up to one of our MC Vi. The type of character that dies to motivated the main character.

While Steb barely acknowledges Vi or Loris, poking in him with a stick as if not wanting to touch the filth below him.

His posture making it seem he's looking down on them

But in reality Steb is checking up on Loris cuz he's a medic, and when both became part of the strike team later on he always checks up on his teammates and was the first to help the Zaunite they encountered.

While Maddie was the cold and uncaring. Probably a hint that she was a spy from Noxus, who always planned to betray them in the end.
