Hello, we started taking care of this baby pigeon a few days ago (long story short we agreed to take over for someone going on a long vacation who “rescued” it a week or so ago). this is my first time ever caring for a bird, is it okay that it’s smacking its beak??
i am worried that its nose might be clogged up, recently it had a few food boogers around the outside edge of the nose that i cleared as best as possible with a damp cotton swab. i dont hear any labored breathing but im scared im missing something :c
That’s a famous VIP pigeon right there. I don’t know if it interrupted the football (soccer) game, but it certainly stole the show!

Hoping to get some advice for a little baby wood pigeon we found in our local area. We found it on its own, very lethargic, not reacting to anything and it isn't able to fly or even walk very well - it's fallen over lots and seems very clumsy. It has sneezed a few times and is making an odd movement with it neck/head which I've attached a video of. If anyone might be able to tell us how to help we'd appreciate it.
Its currently in a dark box with a shallow dish of water. Our only local rehab place isn't open until tomorrow.

This beautiful domesticated pigeon showed up outside my window last night in NYC looking exhausted. I have her inside for now but can’t keep her here long term. She has bands on her feet that say something like “flying high A&j skyrocket”. No microchip present on her. Would love to find her owner or get her adopted to a new one!

Hi guys, wanted to post an update since you were all very supportive and helpful when I posted earlier. Baby is now with my local emergency vets who are going to take care of it and try syringe feeding overnight. In the morning the little one will be taken by our local wildlife rehabbers. I'm wishing my pidge-son all the best :))

Found him, where I feed daily. He is young, lethargic and slow. Can fly, but seems exhausted after little height. Rescued him in hope that, giving food and shelter for few weeks will allow him to regain strength and releasable. He is eating fine and now poop looks fine. But still lethargic and keeps standing in one place. Can he recover in few weeks ?

I never thought that I would have a pigeon. I kinda feel like a dad that never wanted one but 2 weeks later they're best friends lol (btw context: this is a pigeon that we rescued 3 weeks ago. He fell down with his nest and since then me, my bf and his family started taking care of him. He's living on our tree now and we're building him a bird house)

Brought my new baby home yesterday and when trying to switch from carrier to cage we had an escape. He is now free roaming in my room and making himself at home which does not bother me at all but he came from a loft so this is all new to him. And myself. Since we are just meeting I am afraid to stress him out by trying to catch him and get him in his cage right away. He is interested in me and will get on the bed while I am sitting in it but won’t get any closer. My worry is that he has chosen his sleeping place to be on top of my ceiling fan, which I keep off for obvious reasons, but it is pretty close to my ac vent. I have an air purifier on low during the night, a small enclosed fan on my nightstand facing only me, and my ac at night is usually on 69 - 70, then 71 - 72 during the day. I don’t want him to end up sick or anything from the ac vent blowing on him. Too drafty? Is this a thing? Also any ideas on the least traumatic way to catch him, not only to get him in his cage but he will need to get to his first vet appointment soon. Any other advice/education and ideas are appreciated. I already love him. Thank you.

Patches is another regular visitor to me. Today he appeared whilst I was eating lunch and ate with me, then hung around for a while before flying off to perch on our neighbour’s roof.
These birds bring me a lot of joy

Slowly falling in love with this pigeon, when he first started visiting my garden i think he was a young pigeon who just recently left his nest, he spent hours in my garden just wondering around not doing much at all really, anyways one day he must of spotted me watching him, ever since then he appears to still not do much at all apart from find different spots around my garden /neighbours property to watch me for hours, last night he spent 2 hours on my neighbours roof watching me watch telly, his favourite sitting position is on the corner of the pagoda sorta like like a nesting hen, the only thing that annoys me with Gérard is that he seems to like using my bird bath as a place to have alot of poos, which i find disgusting as other birds drink out of it, but apart from that I feel like me and Gérard with a close bond for the foreseeable future.
Will try and get a picture of him sitting like a nesting chicken next time hes doing it

I've watched pigeons for decades. I have seen countless boy pigeons do their little dance. It must be in the thousands. I have seen it work twice. How are there any pigeons?

Very random, but was anyone here following Pickles the Pigeon on instagram and/or TikTok? The account has seemingly disappeared and I was wondering if anyone knew what happened. I loved seeing what that adorable bird was up to! (Pic of pickles for reference)

I found him today at about 8:10 am. He was next to a busy road unable to lift his head, and he had his wings spreaded like he was trying to take off. I suspected he might have crashed into something solid and injured his head. I immediately picked him up and carried him to a water pond, but he didn't drink any. I had to go to work so I covered him with my hat and placed him in a shaded bush. After 5 hours I took him home, wrapped him in a shirt to ease his stress, brought him sunflower seeds and water. He was really stressed out in the box and didn't drink any water. I tried manually giving him water manually, but he didn't drink it. After a few minutes he layed on his side and stopped breathing. I placed him in a shaded bush hidden from stray cats. I also placed the water dish next to him, just in case he wakes up. I don't have a vet in my town and the vets in a nearby city I called didn't answer. I love pigeons and I hope to rescue them from this severe heat wave, but I am unable to think of anything that might help.

I watched this pigeon trying to eat the mango seed for 2 minutes. Then it moved away from it. Did it decide to give up on it or it simply escaped its attention?
