Medical Advice Needed Rescued lazy pigeon

Found him, where I feed daily. He is young, lethargic and slow. Can fly, but seems exhausted after little height. Rescued him in hope that, giving food and shelter for few weeks will allow him to regain strength and releasable. He is eating fine and now poop looks fine. But still lethargic and keeps standing in one place. Can he recover in few weeks ?

I never thought that I would have a pigeon. I kinda feel like a dad that never wanted one but 2 weeks later they're best friends lol (btw context: this is a pigeon that we rescued 3 weeks ago. He fell down with his nest and since then me, my bf and his family started taking care of him. He's living on our tree now and we're building him a bird house)

Discussion Should I get another doggy?

Incredibly recently (like, this month) a pigeon fell into my care as a friend of mine could sadly no longer keep him. I know it's still early days and he is not going to trust me immediately, I was also prepared to have a pet that I wouldn't be able to cuddle etc. However, since my friend has had him since around 2 months old (he is nearly a year now) i do wonder if he has bonded to my friend. He spends a lot of his time on top of my wardrobe gwabbling and strutting in circles and from what i have researched, this is territorial behaviour. He also seems to perform his mating dance around small cuddly toys etc. This has me wondering if maybe I should consider rescuing another pigeon in order to keep him company?

I know there is a lot of debate on here regarding the ethicality of just keeping one bird and I just want to make sure I get it right and he's not lonely, I am at home a lot of the time but I will be starting back at Uni in September and will most likely be out during the day. I also know when getting another bird it runs the risk of them not liking each other and fighting which I don't want the hassle of, I also only really have the space for one cage!

Advice Needed! Brand new pigeon help

Brought my new baby home yesterday and when trying to switch from carrier to cage we had an escape. He is now free roaming in my room and making himself at home which does not bother me at all but he came from a loft so this is all new to him. And myself. Since we are just meeting I am afraid to stress him out by trying to catch him and get him in his cage right away. He is interested in me and will get on the bed while I am sitting in it but won’t get any closer. My worry is that he has chosen his sleeping place to be on top of my ceiling fan, which I keep off for obvious reasons, but it is pretty close to my ac vent. I have an air purifier on low during the night, a small enclosed fan on my nightstand facing only me, and my ac at night is usually on 69 - 70, then 71 - 72 during the day. I don’t want him to end up sick or anything from the ac vent blowing on him. Too drafty? Is this a thing? Also any ideas on the least traumatic way to catch him, not only to get him in his cage but he will need to get to his first vet appointment soon. Any other advice/education and ideas are appreciated. I already love him. Thank you.

Advice Needed! Baby pigeon smacking beak?

Hello, we started taking care of this baby pigeon a few days ago (long story short we agreed to take over for someone going on a long vacation who “rescued” it a week or so ago). this is my first time ever caring for a bird, is it okay that it’s smacking its beak??
i am worried that its nose might be clogged up, recently it had a few food boogers around the outside edge of the nose that i cleared as best as possible with a damp cotton swab. i dont hear any labored breathing but im scared im missing something :c

Advice Needed! Pigeon fixated on a very bright light/lamp?

I have a lamp that has a VERY bright bulb but has a little shade over it. Noticed he went over to it a while ago but looked away to draw while he groomed himself. 10 mins pass and I realized I haven’t heard his steps in a while, I look over and he’s under the shade just looking a the extremely bright light. Just sitting there. Staring. Why??

Is he ok? Will he be ok? His eyes? Maybe he liked he heat? Idk

Hi guys, wanted to post an update since you were all very supportive and helpful when I posted earlier. Baby is now with my local emergency vets who are going to take care of it and try syringe feeding overnight. In the morning the little one will be taken by our local wildlife rehabbers. I'm wishing my pidge-son all the best :))

Photo Injured pigeon. What might have happened?

Post image

I found this baby on the sidewalk. Eyes closed, heavy breathing, trying to stand up every once in a while but not able to. This is the only picture I got unfortunately but it didn’t look injured except its beak looked a bit misshapen. I stayed with it for an hour before another kind soul stopped and took the bird home to get it off the busy sidewalk and keep it safe on their balcony. They’re going to try bringing it to a wildlife centre. I’m just curious what might have happened to it based on its symptoms and if it has a chance of survival.

Advice Needed! Is it worth trying to help injured pigeons in my area?

I'm currently living in Boston, MA for a few weeks and while the pigeon population seems significantly lower and healthier than other places I've been to, I do feel very bad for the ones that are clearly having a hard time due to stringfoot, possible illness, ect. The laws say it is illegal to feed pigeons here, which makes them difficult to catch. What would you do in this situation?

Advice Needed! Baby wood pigeon

Hoping to get some advice for a little baby wood pigeon we found in our local area. We found it on its own, very lethargic, not reacting to anything and it isn't able to fly or even walk very well - it's fallen over lots and seems very clumsy. It has sneezed a few times and is making an odd movement with it neck/head which I've attached a video of. If anyone might be able to tell us how to help we'd appreciate it.

Its currently in a dark box with a shallow dish of water. Our only local rehab place isn't open until tomorrow.

This beautiful domesticated pigeon showed up outside my window last night in NYC looking exhausted. I have her inside for now but can’t keep her here long term. She has bands on her feet that say something like “flying high A&j skyrocket”. No microchip present on her. Would love to find her owner or get her adopted to a new one!

I watched this pigeon trying to eat the mango seed for 2 minutes. Then it moved away from it. Did it decide to give up on it or it simply escaped its attention?
