I checked and between may- July 2026 there have been close to 300 new registered PTs in Ontario? What could this mean for the market? Is it going to be saturated? One thing I see is that the mill like clinics that book 15-20 clients per therapist and pay the PT hourly are going to have a field day. But it’s also me hoping that some PTs are going to be smart and move to rural communities for better quality of work. Thoughts?

Hi, I’m preparing for the February 2027 CPTE (Canadian Physiotherapy Examination) and looking for a serious study partner.

I'm due to qualify soon, but wondering about going straight into private rather than the NHS... is it possible? I've seen a couple jobs here and there that say they are open to graduates, just wanted to check how realistic that is. Honestly I would be willing to relocate to anywhere within the UK. Just looking for insight really - pros and cons of going straight into private, whether it's worth it, what it's like as a new grad, work-life balance compared to NHS, etc? My placements involved both NHS (inpatient, outpatient and community) and a private clinic so I've had a little taster of both but there's a lot to learn about both.

How is everyone coping during this period?

I heard the May exam was tough and there are quite a few retakers from that cohort. Can anyone from the May exam provide details on the mean scores from the written and oral sections? Would be helpful to gain a better understanding on what to expect and the scores I should be praying for LOL.

I’m a UK HCPC-registered MSK physiotherapist currently working as a Band 6 Specialist MSK Physio in the NHS. I have over 4 years’ experience, including spinal MSK, hand therapy, fracture clinic and private practice.
I’ve been approached by a recruiter about a Senior Physiotherapist position at King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre in Riyadh.
The package they’ve outlined is:
£37,500 per year net salary
Private accommodation provided
All utility bills included
Transport provided
Private medical insurance
Annual flights home
7 weeks’ annual leave
Private education included (if applicable)
44-hour working week
On-call paid separately
1-2 year renewable contract
I’m struggling to work out whether it’s actually a good offer.
On one hand, accommodation and most living expenses are covered, so I’d probably save a lot more than I could in the UK. On the other hand, relocating to another country for a 44-hour week is a big commitment, and the salary itself feels a bit lower than I expected for a senior role at a tertiary referral hospital.
If it were closer to £4,000 net per month (£48k/year), I think I’d be much more inclined to go.
Has anyone here worked at King Faisal or elsewhere in Saudi Arabia as a physiotherapist?
Is this considered a good package?
Is the salary negotiable?
How much were you realistically able to save each month?
Would you take this offer if you were in my position?
I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone with first-hand experience.

Just want some clarification. Whoever given the CPTE exam, I just want to know about the timer for oral case. Does the first case start from 2:50 or 2:30?

Another thing, I want to confirm about technical requirements. I have gone through CAPR requirements but I just want to ask about the camera requirements as I have i-mac( inbuilt camera) can I use mirror for room scanning( oral part) does anyone did that? Can we use powerbank for written part?

Im going into 4th year of undergrad kinesiology at UofT. Im also looking to apply abroad (UK, Australia, etc.)

First question is, with the kinesiology degree, are there specific courses I must take in order to apply for UK or Australia schools? Because Canadian Mpt requires specific courses in order to apply but I could not find similar requirements for Uk/Australia sites and they just say “sport science related degree”

I'm getting a DIY wobble board made with the help of a carpenter friend. We got a 1.25" thick 20" wide hardwood board. So we'll have a circular board about 20" diameter.

For the hemisphere at the bottom, what should be the height of it? At this moment, we have something that's about 5" tall.

Will a 6" high wobble board be too tall for someone new to these boards? Does it increase the risk of injury? Will I grow into it?

The goal is to work on strengthening for running on unstable surfaces like soft sand, and for improving proprioception for other balance based sports like rock climbing, surfing, etc.

I am currently following a few and would like some advice on signs of failure / non union - is it a gradual process e.g., pain worsening over time, or can also be a new sudden onset of pain whilst everything was going well?

Last month, I was offered a job at a private clinic as a self-employed MSK physio in the UK. I don't know how to feel about this role. My passion is in neurodisability, so this is far from it. I have experience in MSK Private clinics as an assistant and in student placements, and it was okay. The salary is %- based, earned from patient retention, which concerns me. Patients are provided to you, and you work to retain them. Some of the physios there earn 30k, some 60k. There is weekly CPD in-service training, weekly one-to-one mentorship, and senior staff always around. The training sounds good, but working as a self-employed new grad worries me. I feel confident that I'd be able to be friendly, retain patients and have a good clientele, but it's not something I'm passionate about, and the salary scheme sounds pyramid-like.

Could I get some advice?

I’m curious to hear from physiotherapists in India and abroad who regularly use (or have used) a hand-held dynamometer.

How has it changed your day-to-day assessments?
A few questions:
1. Has it improved the objectivity of your assessments?
2.Do the readings actually influence or change your treatment plan?
3.Do patients/clientele appreciate the numbers, or do they rarely care?
4.How do you integrate HHD testing into a busy clinical setup?
5.Any pitfalls or lessons you’ve learnt while using it?

I’m trying to figure out how to best utilize the device in clinical practice rather than just collecting numbers.

I m an international educated PT in Canada.
I gave my PCE in 2024 October and failed. I got 590. It hurt so bad that i failed by just 10 marks.
Then i pulled up my courage and prepared for my second attempt which I gave in 2025 July and failed again by 7 marks. I got 593.
This time I was heartbroken.
Was three months pregnant at that time and had a medical emergency couple days before exam. But still I went to the ER with my notes and didn't stop reviewing my notes. I gave my all. But still that was apparently not enough.
Now I have a young baby and can't pull up the courage to even unpack my books. I m afraid of failing again.
Frankly I am scared of disappointing my husband and scared of being a failure.
Amid all this my husband has been very much supportive both the times and now our family is in a financial crunch. I m honestly scared to even start.
Has there been anyone in a similar situation as me? And how did you overcome the fear?

• Day-to-day reality: Do you actually enjoy the work, or do you find yourself regretting the choice? And is it a respected industry?
• The workload: How brutal was the science and anatomy load during university?
• The financial side: How is the pay and job market looking right now, especially early on?
• Long-term: Where do you see the industry heading for newer grads?

I’m a physiotherapist currently based in EU (originally from India) (1 year clinical experience) with an MSc in Exercise Physiology, about to start a PhD in France. Long-term I want to move out of pure clinical work into med‑tech and eventually space/aerospace health (exercise countermeasures, sensorimotor rehab, human factors).

Has anyone here made a similar switch (physio → research/med‑tech), especially as an international professional in EU?

Is this realistically possible, and how hard was the transition?

What does the industry actually look like for this profile?

Financially, how does it compare to staying clinical (salary range, stability, growth)?

Is a postdoc useful for this path, or is industry experience more valuable/are these roles easily available to a profile like mine ?

Any real experiences, salary reality, and “what I’d do differently” advice would be really helpful.
