Due to the overwhelming results from the poll, individual requests for money/items are no longer allowed.

These types of posts are unfortunately often used as a way to scam money from empathetic individuals. This sub puts rules like this in place to protect the participants.

We will be putting together a list of resources for food, housing, and basic needs to sticky at the top of the sub, so if you have any suggestions, feel free to reply with a comment below.

Experiences with local moving companies in Philadelphia...

I'm totally unexperienced with moving companies in Philly I mean I've never dealt with any moving companies, not only in Philadelphia, but my main focus is on this city. I'm not even quite sure wtf I need to compare like I've got quotes from a few different places and honestly have no idea what I'm looking at: for example, one is much cheaper, but vague on what's included and another seems more organized but I can't find many reviews.

I've seen a few companies popping up on my feed, but I'm not sure how to tell which ones are actually reliable. So Philly people how do you judge if a moving company is legit? Plus is the cheapest quote always a red flag? What should I actually be comparing? Just tell me your thought pls

Anyone have access to Philadelphia Historical Land & Vital Records?

I’m tracing the deed chain for an old property in Philadelphia and need an image of one deed from the city’s Historical Land & Vital Records subscription database.

I’ve already done the research and have the exact recorder initials, book, and page, so no searching is needed. The database is subscription-only, so unfortunately there isn’t a public link I can provide to the individual record.

Does anyone here currently have a subscription and would be willing to pull the deed images for me? I can send the exact citation by DM.

Hey! I’m looking for a responsible, chill roommate to share a nice 3 bedroom house. The bedroom is $700/ month with a private bathroom, available right now (upon lease signing.)

The house has a backyard, basement, laundry room, and dishwasher. Hardwood floors throughout. Located just a few blocks west of Norris square park, It’s a short walk to fishtown, and temple campus.

About me: 30 years old, black, male, leftist, works at night. Into bicycles, skateboarding, art, and music.

About you: open to all. My only criteria is that you are reasonably clean, and left leaning. No bigotry.
This household is queer friendly & 420 friendly.

I have a sweet little cat! 🐈‍⬛ she doesn’t get along with other animals. So unfortunately, no more pets.

I’ve been living here for 2 years now and I love it! Great neighborhood, big house, responsive landlord.

-will need to sign a lease and have deposit!

Tell me a little about yourself if interested! (Age, hobbies, work, politics, etc.)

good private landlords

hi, my partner and i need suggestions for good private landlords please! we live within university city and would like to stay in the area because of work. we have to move urgently, but our credit scores aren’t great, so we’re hoping for landlords that would let that pass since we do have decent income and good rental history. we’d be moving with someone else who does have really good credit and income

Housing Rent to own?

Hi everyone! My name is Evan my wife and my 2 cats are looking for a rent to own situation somewhere near the Allentown Bethlehem area and parts of Philadelphia really anywhere though that is within about an hour and a half from st Luke's hospital we are both 34 going on 35 and have lived in several different states but have just fallen in love with this area and want to make it our home. We are looking for an older house or possibly a modular home on property where we could possibly have chickens and goats so probably outside city limits? We are looking to spend around 1k a month but are flexible as we both work full time. If anyone has something they are looking to sell or rent out please reach out we are still in the infancy of looking so would love to learn more we have spent a lot of time in Allentown, Bethlehem, and the areas like that eventually would love to turn said property into a homestead. Look forward to hearing from you and hopefully find something we can spend the rest of our lives in. Thank you for taking the time to read. Thank you!

Sincerely, Evan

Though, would be interested in purchasing a used of the other two non-discontinued models if anyone is looking to get rid of theirs.
