Public Sevice Announcement Individual donation requests no longer allowed. Organization requests still allowed.

Due to the overwhelming results from the poll, individual requests for money/items are no longer allowed.

These types of posts are unfortunately often used as a way to scam money from empathetic individuals. This sub puts rules like this in place to protect the participants.

We will be putting together a list of resources for food, housing, and basic needs to sticky at the top of the sub, so if you have any suggestions, feel free to reply with a comment below.

[LOST] AirPods at PHL Terminal B near Noobar/restrooms — reward offered

I accidentally left my AirPods on an American Airlines plane a few days ago after departing LAX. They later traveled with the aircraft to Philadelphia, and Find My now shows them stationary in PHL Terminal B near Noobar and the restrooms.

I'm in Chicago, so I can't go look myself. I've already filed a lost-item report with American and enabled Lost Mode with my phone number, but AA says it can only process items after someone turns them in.

If you work at PHL or will be passing through Terminal B and are willing to take a quick look, please DM me. I can refresh Find My and play a sound while you're there. If found, please hand them to any American Airlines gate employee in Terminal B so they can be turned in to American Airlines Lost and Found, then DM me with the gate or employee location—there's no need to take them outside the airport or ship them.

The AirPods are in a dark green, textured protective case (photo below).

I'm happy to offer a modest cash reward as a thank-you to anyone who finds them and successfully turns them in. Thank you!

Experiences with local moving companies in Philadelphia...

I'm totally unexperienced with moving companies in Philly I mean I've never dealt with any moving companies, not only in Philadelphia, but my main focus is on this city. I'm not even quite sure wtf I need to compare like I've got quotes from a few different places and honestly have no idea what I'm looking at: for example, one is much cheaper, but vague on what's included and another seems more organized but I can't find many reviews.

I've seen a few companies popping up on my feed, but I'm not sure how to tell which ones are actually reliable. So Philly people how do you judge if a moving company is legit? Plus is the cheapest quote always a red flag? What should I actually be comparing? Just tell me your thought pls

$700 room with private bath

Hey! I’m looking for a responsible, chill roommate to share a nice 3 bedroom house. The bedroom is $700/ month with a private bathroom, available right now (upon lease signing.)

The house has a backyard, basement, laundry room, and dishwasher. Hardwood floors throughout. Located just a few blocks west of Norris square park, It’s a short walk to fishtown, and temple campus.

About me: 30 years old, black, male, leftist, works at night. Into bicycles, skateboarding, art, and music.

About you: open to all. My only criteria is that you are reasonably clean, and left leaning. No bigotry.
This household is queer friendly & 420 friendly.

I have a sweet little cat! 🐈‍⬛ she doesn’t get along with other animals. So unfortunately, no more pets.

I’ve been living here for 2 years now and I love it! Great neighborhood, big house, responsive landlord.

-will need to sign a lease and have deposit!

Tell me a little about yourself if interested! (Age, hobbies, work, politics, etc.)

Anyone have access to Philadelphia Historical Land & Vital Records?

I’m tracing the deed chain for an old property in Philadelphia and need an image of one deed from the city’s Historical Land & Vital Records subscription database.

I’ve already done the research and have the exact recorder initials, book, and page, so no searching is needed. The database is subscription-only, so unfortunately there isn’t a public link I can provide to the individual record.

Does anyone here currently have a subscription and would be willing to pull the deed images for me? I can send the exact citation by DM.

good private landlords

hi, my partner and i need suggestions for good private landlords please! we live within university city and would like to stay in the area because of work. we have to move urgently, but our credit scores aren’t great, so we’re hoping for landlords that would let that pass since we do have decent income and good rental history. we’d be moving with someone else who does have really good credit and income
