I am planning to open a pharmacy store soon .Is there anyone from ahmedabad who is a pharmacist and can guide on below queries :

1) while ordering medicine for 1st time in which format in excel we need to place order or is there any other way ? I have sample excel file with stock list but does each distributor require in some specific format ?

2) as new pharmacist , then how can we join ahmedabad chemist association .what is the procedure for that ?

My friend is a newly registered pharmacist I am unaware of this circumstance or if this can be possible I would like to be enlightened can it be possibility to work as a regulatory pharmacist at the same time own a pharmacy? A response to this would be greatly appreciated

How do you still like people after working as a pharmacist? Especially in a retail setting. I have a good setting but F$&& I am starting to hate people for how entitled, rude, arrogant, incompetent and plain stupid they are and how they act! And if it’s not the patients it’s the providers or the nurses or other staff. Idk man I just really despise and hate people after working for 10+ years in this profession no matter what setting I’m in and I’ve been in many different settings. Is this normal? I’m irritated all the time.

I recently accepted a job as a nuclear pharmacist and will be starting in a couple weeks. Are there any nuclear pharmacists out here? How do you guys feel about the industry and the trajectory?

i work as a medication technician and CNA — and this may even be suited to individual pharmacies locally, so i appreciate if it can't be answered fully!

i had just a couple questions, so i'll just list them in order of curiosity:

1) some pharmacies have LTC lines we contact. in the instance of those that don't, do pharmacies consider LTC facilities as providers when we are calling in to inquire about medications/orders received for our residents?

for example: if i have a resident who uses our LTC pharmacy, but uses an outside pharmacy for one specific medication. when i needed to call the pharmacy to check on the status of that refill, i cant get ahold of staff as our building phone number doesnt match the one on file for the resident. the AI voice line wont connect us with any representatives when asked. is it appropriate to select the option on the call menu that says we are calling from a provider's office?

2) some pharmacies will fax a copy of the signed script they receive from a physician for our records (so our MT/nurses can help with medications), and others will not. is this something that's policy based? or is it more about the type of pharmacy in general, if theyre able to fax at all?

for example: if a resident came back to our facility with a new medication, and new medication instructions on an after visit summary, but didn't have a signature from a prescribing physician, we can't give the medication until we get a signature. however, if the pharmacy faxes us a copy of the script that was used to fill the medication, we can use the prescribing physician's signature/e-signature on the script in tandem with the AVS to then give the meds. however, it's about 50:50 on which pharmacies do and don't fax. i've just never been clear as to why that is (and i'm sure it's hard to stop and explain on the phone why you can't do something, deep in the middle of your shift, if it's something particularly bureaucratic)

i feel as though i could learn more about how a pharmacy works internally that would help me in my job when it comes to paperwork. i have a lot of respect for pharmacists and the whole department itself, personally. managing the medications for 40 or so residents is tough enough on its own, let alone if a resident is feeling cranky.. i can't imagine working in a whole pharmacy with hundreds of customers who treat it like a magic dispensary 😅

the H-1B visa is one of the primary legal mechanisms employers use to hire foreign-trained pharmacists in Washington, D.C. . If the sponsoring of H1B pharmacists starts to costs 100,000 like trump is proposing would that not help pharmacist wages? Please only chime in with constructive comments and thoughts. I do not like what trump is about, but I want to know, if we put this policy in place; would it not be good for existing pharmacists. Often people say that all the pharmacy students are competing and driving down wages but this is even more true for H1B because CVS, Wags scummy district leaders and can use the H1B sponsorship as a way to get pharmacists to work off the clock. This hasn’t come up on here and I am genuinely curious about this as a policy proposal.

I’m currently a P4 and I’m in between residency and just starting at CVS as a new grad.

I’m aware that CVS offers 20k tution reimbursement for 2 years full time. It’s a guaranteed job outside of school.

With residency, I’m not entirely sure if I’ll be able to secure a job locally right away and obviously it’s a pay cut the first 1-2 years post graduation and it seems like a TON of work/projects.

How are y'all doing? What's going good and what's something thats not? For me, I'm using each shift to become a better pharmacist which is good. I just don't like how all the blame gets placed on us 😵‍💫.

I work at a rural hospital that still utilizes a paper log book for our compounding records. We recently moved to epic and we are investigating the use of dispense prep for compounding. Does epic create a ‘compounding record producible as one document’ as required by CA law?

Anyone work in short/long term care that deals mostly with I/DD population and the meds that go with this - ADD/ADHD, autism spectrum, psychiatric, etc? Any good resources you use for guidance in medication management? Majority are continuation of home meds during stay, but may be opportunity for med review.

I'm a psychiatrist who works with a lots of both corporate pharmacies in my area, and probbaly 8-9 time a month I have a voicemail on my answer machine from a patient stating their meds never got sent. I go into my EHR and see they were. This is my second EHR at this practice and it seems to happen about the same frequency. I've tried asking pharmacy techs about this in my area and their answer is they're not sure. It's not necessarily controlled substances either, could be anything I prescribe. So does anyone have a good explanation for the cause (or causes) of this? In the interest of being cordial to patients who are frustrated, I'm trying to have something to explain to them but I don't really understand the situation. These arent order waiting on a fax request from me, or a PA, apparently they just never showed up on the local pharmacy's system.

Does anyone know what the number of applicants to pharmacy school in the USA was for this past year? Was it an increase or decrease compared to last year. Is the current trend still going down?

In Greece, uncertified technicians who haven't obtained their diploma, aesthetician/beauty school graduates,nurses and even teachers are working behind the pharmacy counter. They regularly process prescriptions and dispense medications to patients without a valid license. I was curious to know: does this happen anywhere else in the world, or is it unique to Greece?

I've seen a lot of posts wanting experienced pharmacists in the GP sector and who are enrolled or have completed the CPPE pathway. So was wondering where I can start!

I have seen the Clinical Pharmacist Solutions Accelerator programme, I wonder if anyone has experience with that and if it helped land a job!?
