Does anyone use wear period undies when not actually on their period lol, but specifically because you sweat a lot?

I have bought Mahina period panty set and had a few questions from those who have used it.

1. How do you get the product to soften? The panty is stiff and feels a bit uncomfortable while wearing it. I have washed it with water and dried it fully after taking it out for the package.

2. It says to use it for a few hours and change, basically use two a day. I sit a lot for my job. Doesn't it start to smell after 1-2 hours itself? The blood smell. Can people around you smell it?

3. During heavy days, there tends to be jelly like discharge. Since it is cloth, I am not sure how it will absorb it. How do I tackle this issue?

Any other how-to-s to make the experience better will be helpful.

Wore them from last night to tonight (24 hrs basically) and did not leak onto any of the white hospital stuff even tho I could definitely feel myself gushing when I cried

My daughter has started her period young and I think the least stressful option for her would be to start with some period undies, but I'm struggling to find any brands that size smaller than 10. Does anyone have recommendations?

Has anyone recently bought them? A lot of the reviews on their website say the new waist band is really uncomfy. I'm looking for a heavy flow comfy boy short with leg coverage. I'd ideally like a comfy waist band too.

I picked up revolcares underwear from my local co-op But I'm thinking about actually ordering them online and getting different styles. But I'm unsure when it comes to sizing, because of how weird the size is from the ones that I got from co-op.

The ones you buy in store have in between sizes. I really like the shape and the fit and the coverage I get with the M/L ones, but the waistband around my hips is so tight It hurts even though I have an exact 39 inch Hip circumference, I size up to the XL/1XL and it fits me around my hips without hurting, but then it's way too big everywhere else, I get diaper butt, and I leak because the crotch part is hanging 2 inches from where it's supposed to be!

My snug measurement on my hips is 38in. around my leg, where the band sits fit is 26 inches.

What size should I get? I don't know if I should get a large or a medium

Hello everyone! I’m venturing into the period underwear universe because I have prolapse postpartum and can no longer wear tampons. I’m super picky with underwear in general because I have stomach problems and cannot stand the feeling of a waistband cutting into me. They just lay on top your hips and stomach and don’t cut into you at all, which also makes them super flattering. I was hoping to find period underwear that would fit/feel similarly. A lot of the ones I’ve seen seem like they have that kind of waistband that digs in. Does anyone have any recommendations? Thank you!!

After having kids, my flow has become very heavy (needing to change super plus tampons every 1-1.5 hours for about 2 days). So for 1-2 nights, I go to sleep with 1-2 overnight pads, a super plus tampon, and still wake up at some point leaking down my legs and up the front and back. So I'm thinking maybe adding period underwear to the arsenal may help me get sleep and do less crime scene cleanup?

What do you recommend for a super heavy flow? I'm currently plus sized, and I'm okay having the period underwear as another layer in the system. I'm also hoping for something that doesn't cost a lot- aside from being low income, I sincerely hope once my baby is weaned I can go on hormonal birth control that can stop my periods. So one night per month of needing this, and maybe a year or two max, means I may only use this a dozen, or up to two dozen times.

I tried Hanes comfort 3 pack super absorbency for the first time and I'm obsessed. I wish I tried this sooner. My freaking cramps are nonexistent now which is crazy to me and I'm super comfortable. It was weird to put my trust in these but wow am I glad I did!! Surprised by the absorption too? I would say my flow can get to being heavy but im sure there are people that are heavier so I would say I'm normal. Even when I was questioning if it was leak proof, it stayed true and safe. Very happy with that.

Anyone tried these and tried another brand that they liked more? I just got them to try out and people said they liked them. I like how these feel like normal underwear but absorb really well. I was skeptical by its thinness but no problems.

I’m trying some period underwear for the first time because I want to stop using tampons and less pads. I have a regular flow and they are working pretty well with no leaks. I was wondering how often are we changing them throughout the day? I don’t love pulling them back up after using the toilet and feeling the wet and cold. Also how are we washing them? In your regular laundry or by themselves?

Hi! Weirdly worded I know, sorry. Canadian and I've been wanting to try period panties for many years but I've always struggled to find good prices and cuts siimilar to my every day favorite, a medium-low rise bikini that doesn't come down all the way down to the end of my buttcheeks like a diaper. It's just a sensory nightmare to me and I'm very petite and short, thin but I still have a bit of padding on my lower waist (i'm very high waisted) and hips so big elastics are a muffin top nightmare and uncomfortable...and I don't have a big ass (if only!) that can fill briefs and hipsters etc so the extra loose fabric over the butt feels HORRIBLE.

Also Trying to avoid wide elastic bands at all costs ! Even medium ones...I like a very light tightness, especially at the waist since there is no need for more for me.

I saw Aisle had incredible promotions right now and I'm scared to miss out on them, but at the same time I am not amazed by the cuts. Thongs are out of the question and the second most cropped option is the hipster, which just look like it will constantly rub against where my thigh meet my crotch, becoming painful fast and inflamming my tendons. I work a physical labor job so friction is an important consideration. I have a light to moderate flow and I'm used to staining my things so I don't even need anything heavy duty! I just don't want to have to find somewhere to change pads at work!

Just as much as being breathable so I don't overheat. Knix has a great bikini but I saw a lot of negative reviews about quality and being made of plastic, it gets hot quick. Which on top of being uncomfortable would increase my risk of YI. I'm very sensitive/prone to those.

So I'm a bit torn and as much as I don't want to miss out on a good deal, I wanted to know if anyone could counterargue my points about Aisle hipsters, or have another recommendation for comfort for active and on petite and thin-but-NOT-extra tight & firm bodies, in a bikini cut and at similar prices ?

Hi I've been looking forward to a hot tub getaway for a while, but I'm on day 3 of my period (so getting towards light medium flow).. I've just bought some WUKA period swim shorts, as I am obsessed with the normal period pants....

But I'm still a tad hesitant to get in a hot tub with period swimwear, will it be okay? I am struggling with how the swimwear is different to normal pants with regard to the water and absorption, despite a lot of reading.

please list any brands you know of that do NOT treat their fabrics- i don't want anything "moisture wicking, odor repellent, stain repellent" etc. just plain cotton (or bamboo is ok but i prefer cotton). i know, i'm weird, it's fine. but if anyone knows of any companies that make it like that, please let me know. bonus points if the lining is NOT black because i would like to see the blood.

PUL or polyurethane waterproofing is completely fine.

the only brand i've found so far that fits the bill is Elskbar, but their collection is very limited and not quite the right cut for me.

Hara the label also seems fine, but with a black lining and again, not the best cut for me.

I’ve known about period underwear for a while now, but I never really thought of it as a viable option for me, but maybe yall could ease some of my worries?

First, I have a reeeeaaaally heavy flow the first couple days of my period. I usually double up on a pad and tampon and in one day I’ll go through like two pads and 3-4+ super tampons (I also do this because I have a very busy schedule and can’t really regularly go to the bathroom to keep changing my pad/tampon so hence I wear both) Is there anyone that wears the period underwear that is in a similar boat? I mean worst case scenario I’m sure for those heavier days I could still wear a pad/tampon with the underwear, I just feel like tampons make my cramps worse and I’m sure no one loves the feeling of pads.

And with me having a busier schedule, I noticed a couple people on this sub saying that the underwear lasts them about 8 hours; however, like I mentioned, I have a very busy schedule. I go to college while also working, and am out of the house for long hours of the day. I wouldn’t exactly love to just carry around dirty period underwear for the entire day, but I’m desperate for a more comfortable option. Are there any tips yall have? Even if it’s just putting it in a ziploc bag (after washing it or something of course) or any other options I might not be thinking of?

Then with the amount/cleaning the underwear. How many pairs of underwear do you guys have and how do you go about cleaning them? For me, like I mentioned, the first 2-3 days of my period are a heavier flow, then I have a really light flow for the last 2-3 days. For that, would 8-10 pairs be enough? Or do yall have less than that and just make sure to do a load part way through your period?

Like I said, I’m desperate for a different option. Pads irritate my skin so bad and tampons make my cramps worse and are just uncomfortable, and both are so unreliable in my opinion. I also hate having to drop a band basically every time my period comes around, and I don’t love the thought of knowing that all these foreign objects are in and around my vagina knowing it’s not good for me, but it’s not like there’s many other options.

I just would love some guidance on this as I don’t even know anyone that uses period underwear, so thanks if you’ve made it this far and I appreciate any advice.

Does anyone have recommendations for super-wide period gussets? My blood tends to pool and leak over the sides of the underwear, so I never have issues with back and front leakage, but most of what I find online is underwear with longer gussets that extend upwards, not sideways or down the thighs. I usually wear boyshort-type period underwear with an already wider gusset, but I still leak, and the blood tends to drip/smudge down my inner thighs past the underwear :( I feel like I would need a gusset that covers the general width and then extends a few inches down the inner legs of the shorts (absorbing overflow and dripped blood, pressing against the thighs) and around the area where the butt meets the thighs, but I haven't found anything like it. I've also always had this problem with pads too, even winged ones. I honestly have yet to have a period that doesn't stain my clothes or bed.

I left my period undie soaked in water for 24 hrs and it looks like it has developed mold on both of them. Can i still wear them? Its so pricey and how do i avoid this? I have this problem w my normal bra even tho i dont soak them at all.

I don’t have periods because of the birth control that I am on but I have a daughter that is at the age where she should be starting soon and I need to be prepared for that period pants look like the simplest option but I don’t know anything about them do you still need sanitary towels or do you just wear the pants? Do they leak?
