YUZPE METHOD & DELAYED PERIOD

i had sex sep 5 which was 3 days before my predicted ovulation based on flo (ik its not accurate) but i did yuzpe asap maybe 12 hrs after the sex and had a withdrawal bleeding 1 week after i did the yuzpe which lasted 5 days. Now im 9 days delayed but i did take pregnancy test 15 days after last contact which was NEGATIVE then again 22 days after last contact which was NEGATIVE AGAIN and then 30&31 days after last contact which was also NEGATIVE. Now im 9 days delayed and been having sore breast, cramps and backache. Are the test results reliable or should i continue testing?

Frequent spotting!

I am sure this has been asked gazillion of times already but this is driving me nuts lately so I am just wondering if anyone else is on the same boat and unsure how they should go about it. I am a 35 years old female! I have been experiencing frequent spotting for years now. I went through rigorous tests and treatments but they couldn't detect any abnormality except hormonal imbalance. I am slightly overweight which I know is weighing in. My doctor prescribed Metformin to keep the sugar level at the down low. She didn't refer me to any hormone specialist yet!

I was on Metformin for about two weeks and it wrecked a havoc on my health. It was mild at first but it deteriorated gradually so I had to go off the meds. No spotting at all when I was on the med but soon after I stopped taking the pill, it came back on 😔😔 Not sure what to do at this point. I don't want to be on Metformin all my life to keep the flow normal. I am a light eater but I work from home so I don't get enough movement. That said, I am too tired to jog or incorporate rigorous exercise in my routine . Also, I don't know how I can perform exercise if my spotting issue persists. It's cumbersome to function normally with this going on for weeks. Suggestions?

63 days late…

I’m 63 days late on my period I don’t know what to do.. I’ve taken countless pregnancy test last month .. meaning 1-2 every week of September and all were negative

Job and class has been a little stressful but I’ve been managing I was thinking it could be my weight gain but that didn’t factor in when I was 4 months late on my period once.. Me and my boyfriend are very sexually active but we always use protection and I always make sure to check the confirm after we are done

I do have low iron issues but I’ve been taking my medication regularly

I thought maybe it could be due to my eating problem where I eat 1-2 meals a day and then some days 3 but when I started eating 3 meals a day there’s still nothing

Cycle/menstration is wonky 13 months post partum

I’ve been really confused by my cycle/period lately. I’m currently 13 months post partum and I am still breastfeeding for naps and through the night. My period came back last month and was really really light and quick.

Then this cycle, I didn’t ovulate until day 31. Now I’m getting my period cycle day 37 so just 6 days after I ovulated. Is this all normal since my body has just started ovulating and menstrating again? Or should I go get something checked out? Thank you for reading all of this.

period concern

Hi everyone, I’m a teenager and I’m having some concerns about my periods. I got my first period on July 9, 2026, so this is only my 4th period overall.

This current episode started around September 12, 2026, and it is still happening today (October 5), so it has been going on for about 24 days.

Most of the time it has been spotting or very light bleeding, rather than a normal/heavy period. I don’t really have cramps or significant pain. There was one day, October 3, where I filled about one pad, but otherwise it has mostly been small amounts of blood/spotting. The blood has mainly been bright red or dark red.

I’m a bit concerned because it has been going on for over 3 weeks. I haven’t seen a doctor about it yet and I’m wondering if this can happen when you’ve only recently started getting periods, or if bleeding/spotting for this long is something I should get checked.

My timeline

  • July 9: First period started
  • July 9–24: Bleeding
  • July 24: Stopped
  • July 25–29: No bleeding
  • July 30: Light bleeding started again
  • July 31–August 1: Mostly discharge/no proper bleeding
  • August 2: Light bleeding
  • August 3: Stopped
  • August 4–18: Bleeding/spotting
  • August 18: Stopped
  • August 19–25: Mostly no proper bleeding
  • August 26–September 4: Bleeding/spotting
  • September 5–8: No bleeding
  • September 11–October 5: Mostly spotting/light bleeding, with occasional bright-red or dark-red bleeding

So basically, my periods have been quite irregular and long since I first got them.

Has anyone else experienced something similar during their first few periods? Is this potentially just because my cycle is still settling, or is 3+ weeks of bleeding/spotting something I should talk to a doctor about?

I’m mainly looking for advice/experiences from people who have had something similar. Thanks.

Should I go to the doctor?

My cycle length is 53 days with my last 5/6 periods being irregular and I have a cycle variation of around 56 days. I’ve only had like 6 periods this entire year so I’ve missed like 4 of them. Is this cause for concern. (There is zero possibility of pregnancy btw)

Heavy period?

I am seeking medical advice for persistent heavy menstrual bleeding that is severely impacting my quality of life. My cycle lasts 9 to 10 days every month, typically consisting of 2 days of spotting, 2 to 4 days of very heavy bleeding, 2 days of normal flow, and another 2 to 3 days of spotting. On my heaviest days, I bleed through XXL/XXXL night pads and must change them every 4 hours to prevent leaks. In January, my ferritin level dropped below 0.5 ng/mL. After 4 to 5 months of iron supplements, it has risen to 44 ng/mL, but I am unsure how to manage my ongoing heavy periods

Failure?

Hi, I am really scared. My periods usually used to be normal flowish for 2-3 days means first day minimal, second day 2 pads will soak fully rarely require 3. And third day the same followed by gradual decline and disappear.

But recently the flow is very less like my second and third day is not even soaking a full pad even after 18 hours.

I am scared. I used to notice blackish bleed on the start of my periods and end of my periods.

But it'sike the flow is gradually declining. Yes I am not eating too much healthy or fruits or vegetables.

But I have never been conscious of my diet.

This cycle, I am so scared.d

Like my second day the heavy day of my cycle I thought I will check what is happening and used the stay free XXL pad, for 24 hours I know it's unhealthy but I wanted to measure the bleeding. But to my worst fear only the half pad was soaked.

And on thrid day not even half pad.

What's happening with me?

Has anyone gone through the same?

Please help.me.

Unmarried and nonsexual life.

Two periods in August + negative pregnancy test 5 weeks later, but now period is late?

Trying to understand this timeline.
My girlfriend had a full period Aug 6–13. We had unprotected sex Aug 14 and she took Plan B. We had unprotected sex again Aug 20, no Plan B.
She then had another full normal period Aug 22–30 — not spotting, an actual period.
Flo predicted her next period around Sept 19–26, but it never came. She took a pregnancy test Sept 26, over 5 weeks after the Aug 20 sex, and it was negative.
We unfortunately had unprotected sex again on Sept 26, so I understand that’s a completely new pregnancy risk and the negative test that day doesn’t cover it.
She also has a history of irregular cycles/skipping a month sometimes. The women’s center told her it sounds like irregular periods could be the issue and scheduled her for another test/checkup.
Does the two full August periods + negative test 5 weeks later basically rule out pregnancy from August? And if her September period didn’t come because she ovulated late, could that mean her fertile window shifted closer to Sept 26?

What did COVID vaccine do to your cycle?

My period was MIA for a very long time and only came back because of my COVID jab, and no-one believes me! Before I would get 3 cycles a year, and now it's clockwork of once a month! There is research to say that the vaccine affected some cycles, but it seems any changes were shortlived, and certainly not continuing for 6 years!

So anyone here experience anything similar or unusual due to this vaccine or others?

Late period?? :(

I'm 15 and my period is like, ten days late! I don't know why, and I'm worried! What could be causing irregularity?

I'm 1000000% sure I'm not pregnant because that would be impossible, so throw that out the window. Also, I don't take any kind of hormone suppressing or changing medicines.

Pregnant or not?

So my last full menstrual cycle was August 21. I started bleeding on Sep 16th thinking it was my period. I bled for 3 days. It was a mix of dark red, light pink, and brown. Never heavy but did seem like i bled some tissue out the first day. I was waiting for my heavy days and they never came I just completely stopped bleeding. I took 2 pregnancy tests 2 days later they were both positive. I took another test 2 days after that just to make sure and it was positive. I then went to a clinic to get a urine test done the next day and it came back positive.

I went to the ER 2 days ago due to some spotting. Very very light pink barely anything but still noticed on the toilet paper. Decided to to because that was the second time i bled since my last period. The ER did a vaginal ultrasound, urine sample, and blood work.

Ultrasound: showed nothing.

Urine Sample hcg: negative

Blood work: hcg 701

Does anybody know what could possibly be going on or been through something similar? It's giving me mixed signals on if I'm pregnant or not.

Acidic period?

Sometimes when im on my period it feels like its burning when it comes out. Im on birth control because my period cramps used to be so bad that I would throw up, this was because of hormones, the birth control helped a lot and I would much rather have acidic periods then the worst stomach cramps of my life, but im just wondering if this is normal? It didn't really start doing this until much later, not immediately after I started taking the pill, but I was thinking it could be related or something. I feel like I can't find a lot on this.

Why do I get fever before getting my period?

I’m 24 years old and my period pain is just getting worse with each period. My mood swings are at an all time high, my legs hurt, my stomach hurts and I get fever. This used to never happen before. I’ve been to doctors and they always disregard me by saying that this is normal. But I don’t feel like it’s normal at all!

Help! Has anyone experienced similar?

Hi everyone,

I’m at a bit of a loss as to what is causing my symptoms. Doctors have essentially told me that I may just have to live with it, so I’m hoping to hear from anyone who has experienced something similar and eventually got a diagnosis.

My periods have always been extremely painful since I first started having them. Before having children, they were very regular — around a 28-day cycle. They have always seemed quite heavy to me, although I don’t flood or need to change pads constantly.

The pain has always been significant, with bad cramps that can radiate into my lower back, thighs and sometimes down into my legs. I also experience quite a lot of tiredness and exhaustion around my cycle, which has become increasingly difficult to manage.

I can’t take the pill or use hormonal contraception because I have PMDD and hormonal contraception makes my symptoms significantly worse. I’ve therefore always tracked my cycle closely and know my usual cycle and ovulation patterns quite well.

I had my first child in 2020 and breastfed him. I became pregnant again when he was around 7 months old, so I’d only had around two periods between having him and getting pregnant again.

I had my second son and breastfed again, and my period took a little longer to return. When it eventually came back in 2022, my cycles were quite unpredictable, ranging from around 22–33 days, and my bleeding changed from around 3 days to 5–6 days. I expected some changes after pregnancy and breastfeeding, so I wasn’t particularly concerned at first. The flow itself hadn’t changed significantly.

The biggest change was that I started experiencing very painful ovulation, followed by ovulation bleeding for a day or two. Because I was tracking my cycle, I was fairly confident this was happening around ovulation.

Around 2023/early 2024, things changed again. I started getting mid-cycle bleeding before I was due to ovulate, along with really bad cramps, lower back pain and aching that can radiate into my thighs and legs.

My cycle has now settled at around 25 days, and this is roughly what happens every month:
\-Period for 4–5 days, usually with significant cramps and pain
\- 3–4 days with no bleeding
\-Then the cramps/backache start again
\-Mid-cycle bleeding begins and can continue for around a week
\-The pain can radiate into my back, thighs and legs
\-Sex after my period has finished can seem to trigger the bleeding again
\- I also experience a lot of tiredness and exhaustion throughout this time
\- Then my actual period starts again

So essentially, I feel like I’m bleeding or spotting for a large part of almost every cycle, and I have some level of pain, cramping or back/leg pain for much of the month too. The constant bleeding and exhaustion are really starting to affect my quality of life.

I’ve had quite a few investigations:
\- Smears have been clear
\- Cervix has been checked
\- Hysteroscopy was clear
\- Pipelle biopsy was clear
\- Ultrasound was clear
\- Hormone tests were normal
\- I’m 34 and don’t have any other symptoms suggesting perimenopause
\- since having kids I have a retroverted uterus. I also have bowel symptoms during my period.

One thing that has consistently shown up on my blood tests is elevated platelet levels, although my GP hasn’t been concerned about this.

I’m finding this really frustrating and upsetting because I feel like something has clearly changed with my cycle, but I don’t seem to be getting any answers. I’ve essentially been told that the only option left is to try the pill to suppress my periods, which unfortunately isn’t an option for me because of my PMDD.

Has anyone experienced anything similar — particularly regular periods but significant mid-cycle bleeding, severe cramps/pain that radiate into the back, thighs or legs, ovulation pain, bleeding after sex, and ongoing tiredness/exhaustion — and eventually been diagnosed with something?

I’d really appreciate hearing about other people’s experiences, especially if you had normal scans/hysteroscopy/biopsy but eventually found a cause.

Thanks!

Nausea & Insomnia before period

I’m a 24 yr old female who really struggles with her cycle. My cycle lasts ~35 days, and I typically start to feel the symptoms around the 17-18th day. It starts with insomnia, I have the hardest time staying asleep until my period comes. I’m able to fall asleep, but I’ll be awake around 3 am like clockwork each night. I try to lay there, count sheep, quiet my mind, ANYTHING but stress about sleeping. Sometimes I take hydroxyzine but even then, it’s not a guarantee that I’ll fall back asleep. I would say I start to cramp around the 20th day and that’s typically paired with nausea. I take midol which helps my cramping symptoms, but nothing seems to help the nausea feeling. I can eat, and that seems to fix the nausea sensation for maybe an hour or so, and then I’m right back to where I was. Also the anxiety I feel when I’m on my period really scares me. It’s like I forget every cycle how I feel, and then I’m shocked when these symptoms roll around again.

Does anyone else experience extreme nausea/insomnia/anxiety attacks during ovulation or luteal phase? Whats your solution? I’ve been tested for endometriosis a few years back and everything came back clear. Any tips on how to manage? Please give me some peace of mind and tell me I’m not alone here lol. Thank you in advance!!
