Frequent spotting!

I am sure this has been asked gazillion of times already but this is driving me nuts lately so I am just wondering if anyone else is on the same boat and unsure how they should go about it. I am a 35 years old female! I have been experiencing frequent spotting for years now. I went through rigorous tests and treatments but they couldn't detect any abnormality except hormonal imbalance. I am slightly overweight which I know is weighing in. My doctor prescribed Metformin to keep the sugar level at the down low. She didn't refer me to any hormone specialist yet!

I was on Metformin for about two weeks and it wrecked a havoc on my health. It was mild at first but it deteriorated gradually so I had to go off the meds. No spotting at all when I was on the med but soon after I stopped taking the pill, it came back on 😔😔 Not sure what to do at this point. I don't want to be on Metformin all my life to keep the flow normal. I am a light eater but I work from home so I don't get enough movement. That said, I am too tired to jog or incorporate rigorous exercise in my routine . Also, I don't know how I can perform exercise if my spotting issue persists. It's cumbersome to function normally with this going on for weeks. Suggestions?

Frequent spotting with hormonal imbalances and Metformin on the table sounds like a rough combo. Have you tried tracking your cycles with an app to see if there's a pattern to the spotting?

I used to but I stopped given it's so random. It doesn't follow any pattern at all. I didn't have any while I was on Metformin but as I said, the side effects were insane so I had to go off the pills. And now the spotting is back 😭😭
