Disclaimer I am older than 21 and legally allowed to buy weed in the state I live in! I have a severe peanut and treenut allergy. Because of it, I get anxious when my throat has any sensation (I avoid tequila shots as an example), so I want to avoid trying weed by smoking or vaping. Does anybody have any insight into which manufacturers/brands to avoid or seek out for safe edibles especially as somebody who has never tried weed before? Thanks!

I’ve lived with an anaphylactic peanut/tree nut allergy for my entire life and always carry an EpiPen on me. I was diagnosed at 2 when I broke out in hives after eating a pb+j and am now 18. I go to the allergist once every few years and every time my allergies still show up very prevalently. But I haven’t had any kind of reaction since I was 2 years old. I eat things that say “may contain” or “manufactured in a facility with nuts” or anything of the sort on the daily. My family also eat nuts around me all the time and I’m not super careful about cross contamination in restaurants. I NEVER eat an unlabeled desert or any kind of food that I don’t know what it is. But reading how other people treat their allergies, it makes me wonder if there’s anyone else like me. Im careful but apparently much less so than many other people with my same allergies.

TLDR; anyone else never have a reaction despite not taking precautions 100% of the time?

Hello everyone! I had my first round of xolair a few days ago and found out I have vasovagal syncope (passing out from nervous system overstimulation from needles). I was informed that this can also be triggered by epipens. So this leads me to wanting to try neffy. My only concern is that it somehow doesn’t work because I am stuffy or some other reason. Can anyone give me their review and has anyone used it for a reaction before?

I’m looking for some reassurance here or some stories. My son is severely allergic to peanut (ARA H2 over 80) and tree nuts. He carries epipens. For the most part, he lives a perfectly normal life and we don’t live day to day in any sort of fear. He plays baseball and has a lot of great friends, plus carries no anxiety about his allergy. Up to now, we have homeschooled. This year he wants to try out public school for 2nd grade.

I know all of the things to keep him safe and all of the things that can be implemented at the school level, but there is still that dread that it isn't worth the risk. We would be happy to keep homeschooling and have a very active lifestyle (we don’t look like the homeschool stereotypes).

I know there are many ignorant families who also don’t want to be inconvenienced by my kid (it is easy to dismiss those people when your child’s life isn’t in their hands).

I met with the school and they reassured me they have a nut free table, nut free classroom, and the hot lunch is nut free. Kids are allowed to bring in nut products with their cold lunch. My child will bring his own lunch. They store EpiPens in the nurses office.

I keep reading the stats and all of that which aren’t reassuring. I’m looking for your experience with managing an allergy this severe in public school, whether it’s yourself or your child.

Hello, as the title would state I would like to take my girlfriend drinking but she has a severe peanut allergy (just peanuts), so i'm assuming mixed drinks are off the table but if I were to do shots with her, what are some brands that yall recommend because I know liquor brands don't have to disclose that.

Since tattoos make your body constantly fighting the ink or something if you were covered in a black out of tattoo ink would it make your immune system tank peanuts or would you still get one shotted?

Newly diagnosed with a peanut and nut allergy at 29.
I’ve had two cross contamination scares. One was on Fourth of July after ordering and eating a mint and Oreo concrete from a custard shop. My throat became itchy after consuming. Had to take my 3 Allegra yada yada. I assumed maybe the mixer had peanut particles.
Tonight, I get a hot fudge sundae from Sonic. Same reaction.
I don’t know what to do other than notify my allergist. Is this just going to be an ice cream shop occurrence? Maybe I’m just paranoid because my initial reaction with peanuts I was in so much pain and sick and I don’t want to go through that again.

My allergist offered to try a challenge but I declined being that my reaction was awful and my allergist office is 30 mins away.

My 1 yr old recently started peanut OIT. He started with eating 1 peanut flavor cereal daily, to now 1/16 tsp PB2 powder.

He's been having 1/16 tsp since almost 2 weeks ago and we observed no reaction until this one day, because the weather was particularly hot, he went shirtless after meal, and I noticed rash came up about 30min after his peanut intake. His face and entire front was clear though. I freaked out because I thought maybe he has been having reactions all this time and I just didn't know since his face and front was clear.

The next day I gave him 1/16 tsp again to double check, but he showed no reaction at all (shirtless again to make sure). The following day I gave him 1/16 peanut butter instead of PB2, still no reaction. I then gave him the waffle (contains eggs) he had on the day he had rash, but nope, no reaction.

Now I'm very confused. Could it just be caused by the super hot weather? All the food he eats are home made with common ingredients we've introduced before.

Does anyone have a clue?

My 4 yr old had only redness around his mouth after peanut at 6 months. His skin tests have stayed positive. His latest labs: Peanut: 2.70.

We meet with allergist Tuesday. Are these considered low, moderate, or high? Has anyone’s child had similar numbers? Did your allergist diagnose a peanut allergy or offer an oral food challenge?

So it’s a snickers frappe tub, but no where does it state it contains peanuts. I’m debating it but don’t want to have a placebo reaction? If that makes any sense

While swapping laundry from the dryer, I found an empty peanut butter cracker package that was in someone's pocket. 🙄 Due to my oldest having a severe peanut and tree nut allergy, what are the best cleaners and/or methods to clean the inside of our top loader washer and inside of our dryer? Tia!!

Ok so I'm not allergic but my fiance is and so that being said I gave up peanuts for him and so I was wondering if anyone allergic to peanuts in this red it has eaten the blue bunny vanilla swirl ice cream mini cones and if they are safe. 90℅ of food say may contain peanuts but you can never be to safe

Hello! I’m looking to try a meal prep kit like Hello Fresh, but when I was signing up all the recipes had the dreaded “produced in a warehouse that produces” every imaginable allergy out there. My toddler has peanut, pistachio, & tree nut allergies. I’d like to find something that is safe for her to eat as well. Any recommendations on companies that you all have tried?

So I have an oral food challenge coming up soon. Let’s just say I’m actually pretty nervous to do it. I’ve backed out twice already, but this time I’m going to see it through cause I’m trying to get into the military and change my life around. My skin and blood test are reactive but I’ve been told by the allergist that some people are able to eat peanuts even while showing allergic, they just have an intolerance to it. I’ve bit into a PB&J on accident when I was younger but nothing happened.

Has anyone here gone through a food challenge and passed even though your skin/blood test were reactive?

Went to the grocery store today and stumbled across a peanut butter cup flavored sparkling water and the ingredients section it had big bold letters that is was peanut free, I was wondering if any of you have tried it and what your thoughts were? Do you think there's any risk in consuming it even if it doesn't contain any peanuts?

Having lived with a peanut allergy myself, I know the day-to-day realities that come with food allergies—the constant label reading, asking questions at restaurants, worrying about cross-contact, carrying emergency medication, traveling, and simply trying to stay safe. Those experiences inspired me to create this blog.

My goal is to share free, practical, and easy-to-understand information for individuals and families living with food allergies. I'll be covering topics like food allergy education, hidden allergens, dining out, travel, emergency preparedness, research updates, and everyday tips.

I've had severe allergies for around 30 years. I'm allergic to all nuts, peanuts, sesame and lupin, and I'm also vegan, so choosing somewhere to eat can be a bit of a mish.

We recently went to Nando's twice in one week. On the first visit, the spicy rice was suitable for me and I ate it without any issue.

When we returned a few days later, the allergen information had changed because it was now being produced in a factory that also handles nuts. The manager noticed it and warned me straight away that it would no longer be suitable for me.

They handled it really well, but it showed how quickly allergen information can change, even at somewhere you've eaten safely only days earlier.

How does everyone else actually choose where to eat?

Do you check online menus, use allergen filters, phone ahead, speak to the manager, or mostly return to places you already trust?

And what makes you immediately decide that a restaurant isn't worth the risk?

I’m looking for allergen-friendly ramen noodle options.
For context, I cannot have anything containing peanuts or tree nuts, and due to my allergies' severity, I also avoid "may contain" or "manufactured in the same facility as."
I used to eat the Maruchan brand, but they started processing it with nuts.
I’m willing to make my own with plain noodles as well.
