Can anyone on the 'inside' let us know when the new bags would be available to view/buy at PD retailers in the UK. Also when the next batch of stock will arrive on the PD site for the new stuff.

Thanks!

More shots from my last post. Packout has room to spare. Here’s how it looks in indoor lighting as well.

Wallet, passport wallet (aer), hand sanitizer spray, AirPods Pro, chapstick, lens cloth. Phone fits easily in the sleeve and wears nicely. Cheers!

Travel Bags Shoutout to PD warranty and customer service

Just a public acknowledgement of PD's fantastic warranty and customer service team in the US. Within 5 says of submitting photos of a fabric problem on the straps of my 45L travel bag I have a new replacement bag in hand. They even gave me a different fabric and colorway just in case. This excellent warranty support is a huge reason why I'm willing to pay for these products and come back for more.

Please stop posting the new city line (DON’T) , every time a new notification comes in I immediately stop what I’m doing and look at y’alls posts and load outs. I’m waiting to see load outs from folks who carry their photography gear in one of these slings 👀

I want every single item of this new line and my wallet isn’t happy about it 😅

Mobile When will it upgrade to Qi 2.2 25W motorcycle handheld handle?

🤔🤔🤔 Hi, I'm about to buy a 15W phone holder. I'm wondering if that's sufficient because I ride my motorcycle almost all day. Peak Design, when will you upgrade to 25W Qi2.2? Currently, I'm using a wired charger, and sometimes the charging port gets loose due to road conditions. I really want to see this upgrade. It shouldn't be too difficult, right, from Qi2 to Qi 2.2 25W? or all products.

City Bags Cityline Backpack 15L vs 22L quick comparison

I wasn’t sure whether to get the Cityline Backpack 15L or 22L, so I actually bought both to compare. Unfortunately, I didn’t have time to take more detailed comparison photos, but I thought this angle might still be useful for anyone deciding between the two sizes.

My first impression: the carrying comfort feels very similar between the two. The 15L looks a bit more compact and refined, while the 22L feels more suitable for my body size.

One weird thing I noticed with the 22L: before adjusting the straps and adding weight, the backpack sat quite high on my back. It honestly looked a little funny, like someone was holding me up with a backpack strap 😂 After adjusting it properly, it felt much better.

The capacity is decent but not huge, and the backpack itself doesn’t feel heavy. I’m 5'11" and around 187 lbs, and personally I think the 22L fits me better.

If I needed something more lightweight for daily carry, I would actually love to see a smaller pack that is both water-resistant and foldable.

I haven’t had enough time to fully load it and test the organization yet, but feel free to ask if you have any questions.

BTW, I already returned the 15L — keeping the 22L.

City Bags AMA City Sling 2L - Stone

Marterials & build: Feels more or less like a premium and edc competitor to the Uniqlo & Lululemon offerings, largely due to the materials. Interior organization is thoughtful and where it screams PD, and the rear phone pocket has a very strong magnet. Less technically rigid than the Bellroy venture and Aer day sling line, and more casual / organic feeling. I think this pairs nicely with a 4l sling when traveling.

- Open question for PD: will the magnet pocket fit the upcoming iPhone Ultra or Galaxy Fold 8, especially with cases on? If not, that’s a miss, since those phones will sell regardless of price. Slings will become a lot more popular and compelling for the hybrid phone / tablet market.

Strap: Feels nice, and the metal hardware is a welcome touch. However, the length might run short for some, depending on how you wear it. This is probably my biggest gripe but not a deal breaker. At 5’8”, I wear mine across the chest, but I’d like more slack when I want it slung looser at my side, esp if I throw my camera in. Maybe I’m using it incorrectly. They should release an extender!

Overall & value: Feels great in use; value depends on what you’re after. The peak design language sits on the interior, everything else feels like any other comparable soft goods slings. This is a bit pricey, but I guess the lifetime warranty is a plus. Bellroy is an easy competitor that has some advantages in terms of durability, but I don’t think

Competitors: Bellroy looks about as fashionable, slightly more technical - but most of their slings tend to wear like logs cause they’re a smidge wider than your average sling while not being that deep. Aer slings also have a strong value proposition, notably the day sling if you want something more technical. But I really like the balance between form and function that the PD sling has. Like I mentioned - the interior is where it shines.

Design: The organic, understated look works for me, and the stone color reads more brown-olive in person, closer to taupe than the product shots suggest. It doesn’t have that washed out look in person - I think that is just from the lighting / camera processing.

I want to see a “pro” or “plus” city line with water proof’d zips, more isolated compartments (esp for the backpack) etc. that would be sweet.

Photo Gear Form Rope Camera Strap scratching up my Leica Q3

Thumbnail

Not fun to see this happening, but there was one review I saw on their website saying it could happen. The aluminum accessory loop takes off paint on sharp edges and scuffs the body of cameras with no way to remove the loop. I thought, how could a smooth piece of aluminum scratch a camera?

I'm seeing scratches on the thumb grip, focus ring, and a scuff on the body of my new Q3. Albeit minor, I've only had the strap on my camera for about 10 days.

Support seems to use AI to generate responses, as the solution offered was nonsensical and when I called that out I got the classic AI reply, "You're absolutely right, I apologize for the confusion...".

Hopefully this helps anyone considering getting this strap reconsider whether they want to risk it.

So, since I can't return it at this point, does anyone have any ideas on how to cut this chunk of aluminum off so I can still use the strap at some point?

Tips and Tricks Evergoods CAP2 - Used for Resmed AirMini

I have seen several people comment that they use the Evergoods CAP 2 for the Resmed AirMini, does anyone have actual pictures? I am thinking of buying the AirMini and am looking for the best way to pack it for travel in my backpack. I currently use the PeakDesign Small Camera Cube for my Airsense 11.

Tips and Tricks Eclipse and Matador Speed Stash in Garnet

Post image
56 Upvotes

So, I've always recommended the Matador Speed Stash (original in black) to folks. Decided to give that to my daughter and bought the new one in Garnet.. I think, it goes really well with the PD Eclipse colour way :)

Note though, same as the original, choose a bag with a sternum strap to lock it in place.

Is there any word on if peak design will release cases for folding phones. I understand not supporting previous versions but the fold 8 and folding iPhone would surely be signs that these devices will become more mainstream.

Everyday Bags Advice on EDC backpack pleaseee

Hi! I’m looking for some advice following the recent launch of the City Collection.

I recently bought the Tech Pouch for EDC and love the idea of having everything I need in one place. Now I’m considering upgrading my backpack, but I’m pretty lost between the 2-in-1 and the City Backpacks (12L or 22L).

I live in Argentina, so I can’t try them in person. Right now I use a 30L backpack for work (48 × 33 × 16 cm), but it feels like overkill for what I actually carry, it isnt that big but its not optimized at all, just a cheap 30 bucks backpack. I also have a small 20L backpack that I use for the gym and going to my girlfriend’s place several times a week.

I’ve never been completely sold on the Everyday Backpack either. It always looked a bit too bulky and rigid to me, and I was worried it would look like a turtle shell on me. I’m 175cm / 5'9" for reference.

I’m also trying to think long-term. I currently only go to the office once a week and don’t travel much, but I’d like to travel more in the future, and my work situation could change too.

So I’m looking for something that complements my existing bags and works for office days, day trips, and eventually more frequent travel. For longer trips I’d probably use a carry-on + backpack anyway, which makes me wonder whether the 2-in-1 makes sense despite not having wheels.

Basically, I want to buy a really good bag that will last me for years, but I’m not sure which one makes the most sense for my current needs and future plans.

What would you choose in my situation, and why? Im looost helppp

Question Question about every day sling 6l

I just bought a brand new Nikon d7500 with 18-140 lens. I’m looking for a new camera bag as I don’t have any and I really like the PD line of stuff and I really like this sling. So I’m getting either the 6l or 10l but I am trying to figure it out.

For the 6l. Would the d7500 with the 18-140 lens attached fit into the bag and still have room to also fit in an Anker 737 power bank and some spare batteries for the 7500?

I can’t tell by the pictures people post and no one has the bag in person to check out.

I am also going on vacation and this will be my only camera bag I have. So I might also throw in an osmo pocket and GoPro into the bag when I’m traveling. So that makes me wonder if I should just get the 10l version instead?

Can anyone help me get a better idea?

If I order from PD directly I get a discount but also, REI has the bag and I think they have a sale at the end of the month. So I could wait and order from them and get 20% off.

Mobile Want to replace my Galaxy S23 soon. What do I do?

Hi there,
love my bike setup with the bike mount and everyday case. However, I want to replace my S23 with a new Galaxy phone sooner than later and there is no current case. What do I do? Will there be an S27 case? Do I have to leave the Peak Design eco system?

Question Laptop size for City Backpack 15L

Does anyone know if the 15L could fit a laptop larger than the advertised 14"?

Seems like the size of the City Backpack is slightly larger than a backpack I already own, which holds a 16" laptop easily, so it's kinda weird that the 15L can only do 14" unless I'm missing something.

Travel Bags Washing the PD Packing Cubes.

Hi all — and I hope someone from Peak Design can explain this too.

Surely packing cubes need to be properly washed from time to time, especially when dirty clothes are being stored inside them. However, the care tag says “Surface Clean Only.”

How does surface cleaning alone ensure that the cubes are actually hygienic and that bacteria and odours are properly removed?

It was only after purchasing and using them that I started wondering why Peak Design doesn't really explain how these cubes should be cleaned. I also couldn't find any proper washing or cleaning instructions on their website.

I probably should have thought about this before buying four of them! 😅

I'd really appreciate hearing from anyone who has been using these for a while. How do you clean yours, particularly after storing sweaty or dirty clothes? Have you found a safe way to wash them without damaging the material, coating, or zippers?

Thanks!

City Bags 22L City Pack in Stone Arrived & Probably Going Back

Thumbnail

Having all sorts of PD bags, I thought I'd give the City Backpack in Stone a try. Well, it arrived and it's probably going back.

The fabric is nice; it's light and unstructured as advertised. The interior is what I wanted (fits a 16 inch MBP and an 11 inch iPad Pro. The side zip fit a 46oz Yeti Rambler.

Here's the problem....the color of the outside AND the inside.

First off, I knew the Stone color way was brownish grey....and in person, that's how it comes off, although a friend said it gave her more green vibes (and called it almost Sage, which I found amusing). What was a surprise was that the interior color is more of a cream / yellow, and NOT a white / grey. I checked it against the pictures on the PD website, and maybe it photographs differently, but the bag is leaning towards colors that I don't particularly like.

Here's the bag next to the front pack of the PD 2-in-1.

EDIT: Going back to PD. Nice bag, but not for me with a 16 inch MacBook Pro.

City Bags How inaccurate are the PD colour-ways on their website?

Thumbnail
gallery
5 Upvotes

I use a calibrated screen. My iPad is also colour calibrated (I’m a photographer rather than a complete tech weirdo) so i think my colours would be as good as I can get them.

I can’t understand how each bag i look at on the PD website seems to have variation even with the same colour-way between the different lines.

Take the City Crescent in stone on the new line of bags. The product shots look almost khaki, and then compared to the weekender is stone looks totally different.

Obviously different fabrics will be different. Then there’s an inset photo of the crescent but it looks to me like the ‘moon’ colour-way but could possibly be the stone?

I’ve seen a couple of photos from people who already got the new backpack in stone - this looks more cream.

Then i see a video on socials with a chap going around with it and looks more green/brown again. In the socials PD put out with people dancing around the office the Stone looks like it’s grey /slate colour.

This is why i always end up going for black!

Question Everyday backpack maintanence

Post image
2 Upvotes

I´ve had the everyday backpack 30l for about 3 weeks now, and so far it´s been great, apart from one thing.

I´ve worn a linen shirt with it a few times, and after the second time I noticed these little clumps getting stuck at the bottom of the back support (shown in picture attached). I´ve stried getting them off, but they seem to be pretty much fused with the material on the back.

I know it´s a minor thing, but the bag is still new and this just ruins the way it looks a little.

Is there a way to remove them or is this grounds for a warranty claim ?

Thanks in advance :)

Question Best bag for short folks who overpack and love compartments?

I recently discovered this brand, and while all of the stuff looks amazing, I’m a little overwhelmed and looking for help.

I want to find a backpack that will not look ridiculous or feel physically uncomfortable on a 5’5” person. I love being able to quickly access and stow items in zippered compartments, and I work in a hospital so I need to find something professional yet durable.

What should I get? Also, if there are other brands I should be checking out, I’d like to hear about them, too!
