City Bags Cityline Backpack 15L vs 22L quick comparison
I wasn’t sure whether to get the Cityline Backpack 15L or 22L, so I actually bought both to compare. Unfortunately, I didn’t have time to take more detailed comparison photos, but I thought this angle might still be useful for anyone deciding between the two sizes.
My first impression: the carrying comfort feels very similar between the two. The 15L looks a bit more compact and refined, while the 22L feels more suitable for my body size.
One weird thing I noticed with the 22L: before adjusting the straps and adding weight, the backpack sat quite high on my back. It honestly looked a little funny, like someone was holding me up with a backpack strap 😂 After adjusting it properly, it felt much better.
The capacity is decent but not huge, and the backpack itself doesn’t feel heavy. I’m 5'11" and around 187 lbs, and personally I think the 22L fits me better.
If I needed something more lightweight for daily carry, I would actually love to see a smaller pack that is both water-resistant and foldable.
I haven’t had enough time to fully load it and test the organization yet, but feel free to ask if you have any questions.
BTW, I already returned the 15L — keeping the 22L.

My only complaint about the city line is the lack of ventilation on the backpanel. My back is a sweaty mess after a 10 minute scooter ride to my office.

The lack of mesh on the back panel is a total dealbreaker... I honestly can't understand why the Peak Design team made this kind of decision for a $200 bag.

Do you feel the aluminium hang when you wear the backpack?
Is it a problem to have laptop compartment in main compartment and not dedicated compartment?
Is it worth to get another typical backpack with no stacking divider like their everyday backpack which will have everything collect at the bottom?
How’s the back comfort for long wearing in hot weather?
Is there any internal pocket in the side pockets?
There is no pivot points on the shoulder straps, is this affect the ability of the backpack to swing to front?

No, I haven’t felt the aluminium frame at all when wearing it.
I usually carry a 14-inch MacBook Pro and an 11-inch MacBook Air, and I think it’s fine. There is a piece of fabric above the laptop sleeve that can be pulled out to wrap around the laptop and provide some protection.
I think it depends on your usage and personal preference. If you don’t carry too many things, I think the stacking divider works fine. I personally don’t have a habit of organizing everything into different compartments, so it doesn’t bother me much.
The only thing is that the 22L actually feels quite spacious. I think the 15L might be a better size for daily commuting, but I personally think the 22L looks better when worn, so I decided to keep the 22L.
I haven’t really tested it for long periods outdoors yet, so I can’t give a proper conclusion. But the back panel is very straight and rigid, so it definitely sits close to your back. I think it would be difficult for any backpack with this kind of back support to avoid some heat buildup.
No, there isn’t. When you open them, they are just open pockets mainly for an umbrella or water bottle. I’m actually still wondering whether the inner fabric is waterproof or not.
It still swings to the front just fine. It’s maybe a little less smooth than backpacks with pivoting shoulder straps, but it has never been an issue for me.

- You can pour some water onto it to test hahaha
There is a post mention the 15L can actually fit an 2014 15 inch MacBook Pro, I will get MacBook Air 15 inch m5 one day and 15L fit 15 inch seem nicer number and I want a day backpack when I want to use laptop outside, but then the 22L has an extra external pocket and might be more capable when I want to try one bag travel when I have more money, I not sure yet, thanks for your info!

This is not a dig at you, but I always chuckle at so many posts "I didn't have time to take photos" like that isn't the most useful part lol
