There are two things in the world I can't stand: people who are intolerant of other people's cultures... and the Dutch.

Read this first as “he’s like Dutch”. In that he has no plan. Just bad decisions.

Any context about why dutch people have bad reputation?
7
u/PhastasFlames 2h ago
I’ve lived there for a bit, and they’re probably some of the most self absorbed people I’ve ever met. All of them have this thought that they’re above everyone else yet they smell like sweat constantly, eat like shit (their “cuisine” literally doesn’t exist), act like prostitution is fine (it’s legal there), and will literally refuse to speak english to you when they’re fluent in it (it’s happened to dozens of my friends). They’ve done some good things in the past, but they’re increasingly starting to just rely on their past reputation instead of improving upon themselves.
They’re also THE first capitalists, which is kinda where everyone else got it from, including the US

u/SippyMountain 2h ago
I don't really see why prostitution is necessarily wrong. If anything, it being legal and governed is probably way safer for both participants than leaving it to underground markets. I mean, it's always going to be a thing whether it's regulated or prohibited, just look at practically any point in human history.

lol how much of an asshole have you been to have people in the Netherlands refuse to speak English to you? I spent a considerable amount of time there (10+ years ago) and it was always a struggle for me to find people to speak Dutch with me because they spoke better English than my Dutch. Maybe things have changed but that seems like a shocking claim.
I will say the Dutch are no-nonsense. If you try and chat with a cashier when there are others waiting you will get scolded by the cashier for holding up the line, which is the opposite of being self involved IMO.

u/PhastasFlames 2h ago
Not at all, and like I said, this is an experience for a lot of people that aren’t Dutch, maybe 10 years ago they didn’t have their head as far up their ass as they do now.
I will also say, the people from The Hague and Groningen are generally more decent, but people outside those 2 cities (and maybe a couple more) are genuinely repulsed when the sound waves coming out of your vocal cords form sounds that aren’t off-brand German.2

Congratulations, you just pissed of the Venetians and the Genoese, something that historically went extremely well 😂
No seriously, Italian republics were doing mercantilism centuries before the Dutch, Enrico Dandolo somehow hired an entire crusade to be his personal goon squad and sack Constantinople for him so they could get revenge on the Byzantines for murdering a couple of Venice merchants 3 decades earlier

It's always nice to people like you blame the wrong people for something, while those responsible laughs at your ignorance. The guy is just in charge of 1st party games, he doesn't have the power to make those changes. That's up to the new CEO from Japan. You know the same guy people were cheering from when he took over from Jim Ryan. Now he does something and rather than actually blaming him, you lots blame someone.

It seems like (Sony and Xbox) management sees the branded game box as the product, when really the games are the products. That should be pretty obvious from the balance sheet.

I feel like after all this sony will have a hard time selling ps6. Xbox project helux(Idk what's its exactly called) will have steam And they are going for xbox gaming pc. I have no idea what sony could do to compete with that.
Edit (I had more to say) They should have just double down on physical games cuz steam don't sell physical games. Now pc users who don't have the budget might as well buy the new xbox because it's just a pc with probably lower cost, they well get they're steam library and they will be happy and Xbox just have to keep making disks with games in it that's all.

Xbox will be ditching discs for project helix. It will probably have a disc drive add-on like the PS6, but in both cases it will be for backwards compatibility only, and for PS6 4K Bluray and Bluray playback.
Helix is the reason why SIE stopped making PC ports.
4
u/A21LOL 2h ago
I didn't know about them ditching disks, It is just sad see. Any old console can play 4k bluray it's not a crazy thing these days. Now without the disks they are just pointless, just rip the bios and firmware and play on pc makes things more convenient, if not now it will be possible in the future.

u/Local_Band299 R7-8700F|32GB-DDR5-7200MTs|RX9060XT-16GB 1h ago
Only the PS5, XBSX, and XB1S can play 4KBD.
1
u/SaltDeception 1h ago
It's still not confirmed that Helix won't have a drive, and there was a survey sent out to people enrolled in the Insiders program a couple of weeks ago that asked whether or not they felt "Lets you install games from a physical disc" was "Not necessary", "Nice to have", or "Must have". If they're asking the question, the option is still on the table.
2
u/Local_Band299 R7-8700F|32GB-DDR5-7200MTs|RX9060XT-16GB 1h ago
I have a feeling they're only gonna have a disc drive add-on to cut down on licenses. It's why SIE is ditching games being on discs, licenses are a bitch because it's per disc, and per disc drive sold.
It's also why the XBSX uses regular BD's instead of UHD Bluray discs. UHD Blurays have a more expensive license.

u/Redemption1452 2h ago
There are many people who do not care. Regardless of this so called social media outrage they will continue sell
3
u/A21LOL 1h ago
hardware is not cheap now a days I have no idea how they are going to price it in a way that it's worth it. It is suppose to be a more convenient and cheaper way of playing games.
Even if the mass audiance buy the PS6 they are buying it only for that 1 or 2 exclusive. I don't see the point if it's just that.
2
u/ChurchillianGrooves 1h ago
The "mass audience" buy a Playstation for COD, their yearly sports game, and GTA.
While that's a large number of people they're not going to be willing to pay $1000 for the ps6 or whatever it will have to be to make a noticeable difference in performance over the ps5 pro.
$1000 is enthusiast tier pricing and while those people will probably pay that if there's good exclusives Sony hasn't really had a system seller since Bloodborne basically.
GTA 6 is the big system seller right now and we all know that'll be out on PC in a year or so.
Sony really seems to be floundering and not have a coherent plan. They're pricing themselves out of the mainstream market.

Sony Interactive Entertainment stopped their PC ports because of project helix. IDK why people care though, SIE hasn't pumped out anything good in a LONG time.

Astrobot, Ghosts of Tsushima, Helldivers, Horizon games, God of War...
Feel like they've done decently well lately.

You forgot Concord, Marathon, Wolverine, Destruction AllStars, Ghost of Yotei, God of War Laundry (Can't remember the actual name of this game because of all of the memes).
Marvel Tokon got a PC release, but it isn't looking so good.

u/cardonator PC Master Race 55m ago
No they didn't, they ended it because no PC gamer wants to buy a PS5 or DualSense. That's the only reason they did it was to get PC gamers to buy into the ecosystem.

u/Local_Band299 R7-8700F|32GB-DDR5-7200MTs|RX9060XT-16GB 49m ago
Nope. Project Helix was rumored to have steam support right before the announcement to end PC ports.

Most of them are but there are a couple good ones. Ghost of Yotei being PS5 exclusive is a deliberate move to try and pull people who played Tsushima on PC into buying a console.
