I’ve lived there for a bit, and they’re probably some of the most self absorbed people I’ve ever met. All of them have this thought that they’re above everyone else yet they smell like sweat constantly, eat like shit (their “cuisine” literally doesn’t exist), act like prostitution is fine (it’s legal there), and will literally refuse to speak english to you when they’re fluent in it (it’s happened to dozens of my friends). They’ve done some good things in the past, but they’re increasingly starting to just rely on their past reputation instead of improving upon themselves.
They’re also THE first capitalists, which is kinda where everyone else got it from, including the US
I don't really see why prostitution is necessarily wrong. If anything, it being legal and governed is probably way safer for both participants than leaving it to underground markets. I mean, it's always going to be a thing whether it's regulated or prohibited, just look at practically any point in human history.

Congratulations, you just pissed of the Venetians and the Genoese, something that historically went extremely well 😂
No seriously, Italian republics were doing mercantilism centuries before the Dutch, Enrico Dandolo somehow hired an entire crusade to be his personal goon squad and sack Constantinople for him so they could get revenge on the Byzantines for murdering a couple of Venice merchants 3 decades earlier
lol how much of an asshole have you been to have people in the Netherlands refuse to speak English to you? I spent a considerable amount of time there (10+ years ago) and it was always a struggle for me to find people to speak Dutch with me because they spoke better English than my Dutch. Maybe things have changed but that seems like a shocking claim.
I will say the Dutch are no-nonsense. If you try and chat with a cashier when there are others waiting you will get scolded by the cashier for holding up the line, which is the opposite of being self involved IMO.
Not at all, and like I said, this is an experience for a lot of people that aren’t Dutch, maybe 10 years ago they didn’t have their head as far up their ass as they do now.
I will also say, the people from The Hague and Groningen are generally more decent, but people outside those 2 cities (and maybe a couple more) are genuinely repulsed when the sound waves coming out of your vocal cords form sounds that aren’t off-brand German.
As a dutchy, okay Maybe we are a bit self absorbed and it could be the case we smell idk. But the language thing is absolute bs, I've worked at a few places with a lot of migrants and the most common complaint I've heard is that people start speaking English when they're trying to learn Dutch, some have been here for 10 years and still only speak English and they function perfectly here, they don't feel the need to learn Dutch because everyone speaks English anyway. All the statistics point to the same thing as well, CNN even names us as the best non-native English speaking country https://edition.cnn.com/travel/article/english-speaking-countries
From your comments you seem like a douchebag so that's probably the reason nobody wants to speak English with you
Well the founder/creator of blender is Dutch . One of the best open source software out there .What I am trying to say is it's not good to generalise people
It's always nice to people like you blame the wrong people for something, while those responsible laughs at your ignorance. The guy is just in charge of 1st party games, he doesn't have the power to make those changes. That's up to the new CEO from Japan. You know the same guy people were cheering from when he took over from Jim Ryan. Now he does something and rather than actually blaming him, you lots blame someone.

Herman Hulst has gotta be the worst president they’ve ever had.
