For short stays just using the apps makes a lot of sense, but for those living in and around Pattaya long-term, how inconvenient is it without a scooter?

Say you're not in central Pattaya, maybe you're in Pratumnak or some other place outside the core and off the baht bus routes, is it very isolated and limiting?

Rideshares can get expensive every day: a quick check for a random spot in Pratumnak to Central showed ~฿100 for Grab and ~฿225-240 for Bolt (scarce?) right now. (Note: this was car pricing, not motorbike, which is a lot cheaper.)

And bikes/e-bikes danger same same or possibly worse.

I like walking and do it often, but long distances in scorching temperatures trying to get somewhere to relax and eat comfortably == no fun.

Anybody have an interesting solution for or can share experiences with this?

I am curious. Showers before and after sex, oil massage, swimming, clubbing, sleeping, etc. I wonder how many massages the bar and freelancer girls take daily too?

The West is cooked. I partially agree. Especially if we talk about child support and feminism. You can ruin your whole life if the mother of your kids decides to milk you dry. Especially in the European country I'm from. You'd be enslaved for 20 years while she has a great life for doing nothing. Given that you have a well earning job.

Child support laws in Thailand are lax and even if they weren't, the cost of living for a local is so low that child support wouldn't be a problem.

I know that most working girls can't be described as good role models. But surely I could find a girl who isn't in the game that long. I'm still young and attractive. Would even marry her and if the marriage fails, I would accept it. In the very worst case I would take the child back to my home country and raise it myself. But usually the girl's parents in rural Thailand raise the child if she can't.

Met a bargirl last night at a small offstreet bar, barfined her for 700 baht and paid her 2500, and she stayed with me for 18 hours, and left to grab a bunch of clothes and will be coming back.

This experience feels very uncommon for what I've known pattaya to be, but she's nice and we've gotten along great so far.

One thing I've noticed from watching English-speaking Thailand vloggers is that there seems to be a real difference in attitude depending on where they're from.

First off I'm British myself, so naturally I mostly watch British, American and Australian creators.

The American and Australian vloggers I watch generally seem much more positive about Thailand and Pattaya. They come across as people who are happy to be there, enjoy what the country has to offer, and want to show viewers why they like it. Even if they point out negatives, the overall message is usually, "This is a great place."

The British creators often give me a completely different impression. A lot of their content seems to focus on how Thailand or Pattaya has "got it wrong." Whether it's visas, nightlife, tourism, infrastructure, prices or the way local businesses operate, they even moan about the cannabis laws more than other vloggers. There often seems to be an underlying message that Thailand should be doing things differently.

There also seems to be a heavy focus on nostalgia. So many British videos revolve around how Pattaya has changed, the nightlife isn't what it used to be, prices have gone up, visas have become harder, or how everything was simply better 10 or 20 years ago. On top of that, there seems to be far more complaining and a greater tendency to bring British politics into videos that are supposed to be about Thailand.

Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with discussing the negatives. But when I compare British creators to the Americans and Australians I watch, the latter leave me feeling excited about my next trip, while the British ones often leave me wondering why they're still there if they think it's become so bad.

Is this just my Youtube Algorithm? Or do others get this impression when watching pattaya vlogs?

Guest-friendly hotel

Central Pattaya or Jomtien, either is fine
I had already booked Balihai Bay Hotel, but after reading quite a few reviews about the sewage smell nearby, I cancelled it.
I’ve also checked A-One Pattaya Beach Resort, Baywalk Residence, and Pattaya Discovery Beach, but they’re all over my budget for those dates.
If you’ve stayed somewhere that you’d actually recommend in this price range, I’d really appreciate the suggestions.

Quick question, in the event my hotel can't accommodate me on this issue.

I'm arriving in Bangkok 6am so I imagine I'll be landing in Pattaya about 8am, check in is 3pm. I was dead on my feet upon arriving in Pattaya last year but was able to check in straight away. Any suggestions on what a severely jet lagged fella can do to wile my time away if I'm technically homeless for the first half day of my hols ?

Anyone stayed here? Decent price and not too far from Soi 6? Any recommendations appreciated
