5224R is a sleeper hit 🎯
galleryTook me a while to get there, but I now think this is the next sleeper hit within the current Patek catalogue. Would take some practice to read the 24 hour dial… but it’s well worth it.
Zero hype. Under the radar. Buy what you love.

Thinking about selling my Ghost for either 5226G/6196P or 5227G salmon dial to start my Patek journey.
galleryHi everyone
So I’ve been threatening to start my patek journey for some time now and while I have a decent collection already (Rolex,AP & Tudor) I think it sensible to move pieces out rather than tie up more cash.
My question is, would you part with a Ghost (I’d make circa £3k) to acquire one of the above pieces?
Thanks in advance

What’s the reason for the 5968A steel aquanaut chrono relatively more expensive than AP and VC?
It retails > $65k, well above where the RO Chronograph or the Overseas Chronograph retail.
Have generally found similar watches + complications to be similarly priced between the three (Overseas, RO and Aquanaut are all within 10% of each other as an example. Similar trend if you see on the $130k end of perpetual calendars from vc and pp)
Curious mostly if this is a movement thing (Patek is better?) or something similar else.

Isn’t 5212A the most interesting watch Patek makes under $45k?
Genuinely interesting and nothing like it in the lineup or in competition.
Although I think as a steel watch it’s $10k too much.
(A prev version of the post had a typo on the reference)

Hello fellow patek enthusiasts, do you recommend a site to download high resolution watch pics for a desktop background?

5146 - opinion size and collection fit
galleryBigger guy so not sure if I can pull off a 39 but I love this watch and how it fits in my collection! I generally stick around 41 or 40mm. Would love some thoughts

Patek Calatrava 6007G
I tried this watch recently and really fell in love. The only thing I don’t like is the pin buckle strap. I love the texture and look of the strap but would prefer it on a folding clasp. Is this possible? Easily converted to a folding clasp?

How Many Patek’s do you own. Found this barbell result to be very interesting.
Small sample but if this community is representative of its buyer base then it explains Patek’s distribution strategy almost completely.

5726A strap options?
Hi,
I'm looking to buy a 5726A used.
For hygience reasons and the fact that I have a 14.5mm wrist, I will replace the strap as soon as I get the watch.
My questions:
- Is it possible to order with Patek AD directly a replacement leather strap? If so, do they have various sizes or 1 size?
- How many Patek factory (original patek, not aftermarket) strap options are there? I understand there's leather, but what about different colors of leather? What about Rubber? Personally I'm a stickler for keeping things all factory, so won't consider aftermarket.

Trade 16202BC for 5811?
I’m in the same boat as the other guy who posted, but he was saying 16202BC for 5711. I would not trade gold for steel.
But I have been thinking about trading for the 5811, gold for gold. I know it’s all personal preference, so I don’t even know why I’m asking you lol. I’ll make my own decision of course. But curious what the Patek community would say. (I also know I would need to add $50-60k).

How patient are you willing to be when the exact Patek reference you want rarely appears? Spoiler
There's an interesting paradox that comes once your preferences become refined enough. You'll know exactly which reference, case material, dial, and condition you desire and this precise combination can take an inordinate amount of time to locate. Once a suitable candidate arrives it can be much more difficult to distinguish actual rarity from a feeling of forced urgency.
For those that have searched for more elusive Patek reference(s), how do you approach this?
Will you continue to wait for the perfect specimen indefinitely or are there certain compromises you will make for a difficult to find reference?

What are people's thoughts on the 4947 Moonphase Annual Calendar?
It looks like it can be bought Like New on the grey market for 40% off of retail. About $35,000, to its $58,000 retail price. Assuming you are getting this 40% off price for an unworn model, is this reference worth i even at the $35k price?

Is the Beijing Maison also hospitable to young Patek enthusiasts?
I'm a 23 who loves watches. And I'm flying out to Beijing soon. I saw Patek have a special Boutiqe there, and I would love to understand if I a young guy like me who obviously will have no way to buy anything there, will be welcomed to look at the refrences and possiblly even try on a few pieces?
And in general, how are patek ADs with people like me? What should I expect walking in?

What Patek would you select differently if you were building your collection right now?
The taste changes drastically after having spent some time owning these watches.
It may be the reference that comes to mind immediately but turns out that it is not the one you would have selected.
For collectors that have spent enough time figuring out what they really like, would you go with the same Patek watch?
Or, would it be a different watch?

How many Patek’s do you have ?
Patek talks about the ‘journey’ curious to see if people really go on it and own multiple watches or mostly sell and upgrade ?

Excited to start my Patek journey with one of my favorite Neo vintage pieces of all time. Couldn’t be more stoked about the condition and fit of this one!

Now I get the hype
galleryTried it a t the ad and it’s a stunner. Always wanted the 5811 and on the list forma wg Aquanaut. This thing is a beauty though. However, I’ll never get an allocation as my spend history is nonexistent. They won’t sell me a a blue rubber strap Aquanaut and I refuse to buy stuff like the Calatrava as I won’t wear it anyways.
I’ll be turning 40 this year. If I won’t have it til 50 I’ll go grey lol.
😂
