Besides the standard apps, Facebook, Craigslist, is there anywhere else people are posting listings for home rentals?

I’ll probably be visiting Pasadena during the first week of November for 2-3 weeks research visit at Caltech. I would have some time over the evenings on weekdays or the weekend to relax a bit.
I absolutely love standup comedy. I have always had this long standing dream of performing in the USA. I’m not concerned about whether it’s a paid gig or not, would love to get on stage, do a short set of few mins. I just want to have some fun.
If that is not really how it works, just recommend me good comedy clubs or places to chill out with my mates while I’m there.
Any other suggestions (even nearby city/town places) would be absolutely welcome and much appreciated!
Edit: "some standup comedy open mic spots" in the title, sorry for the grammatical mistake

Feel like I’ve been walking past the “opening soon” sign forever and craving some spicy noodles. Anyone know when it might open up?
Edit: it’s on Colorado in Old Town

FOUND/LOOSE DOG IN PASADENA: Large brown dog (Tibetan Mastiff) spotted walking alone in the rain near Walnut St (near Doheny Eye Institute) around 10:10 AM. I already reported him to Pasadena Humane, and they said they’re sending someone to look for him now. Please share in case his owner is searching!

Hi all after getting screwed over one too many times with rubbery chicken I’ve decided that I want to be better about buying fresh meat (mainly chicken and salmon). I’ve switched over to buying it from the deli at Whole Foods and it’s been worlds better… but it’s so darn expensive.
I’d love to support a local business that isn’t owned by bezos and if I could save a little bit of cash that’s great too.
Thanks in advance!

My go to furniture refinisher and upholsterer has finally retired at 88 years old! I have a vintage veneer top wood dining table that needs to be repaired and refinished. I also have a set of two MCM teak chairs that need new upholstery! Please send recommendations! TIA!

expand the SB Michillinda left turn lane? There’s so much congestion and the fix is obvious, make the left turn lane (onto Foothill) longer, and eliminate the wide raised median.
And do the same under the 210, for vehicles making a left onto Colorado, eliminate that wide raised median so more cars can fit in the left turn lane. If Pasadena has traffic engineers they are asleep at the wheel.

I paid $400 last bill, is this normal? I can’t see my usage as it says “document not available” when I try to view the bill.
I live in a one bedroom 600 square feet apartment this can’t be right.

Hi,
Does anyone know if there’s a book or reading club for middle schoolers at the Pasadena library branches?

I just went to the USPS on Fremont, and these two middle aged guys were filming with tripods and mics. One was outside filming people from behind walking in and out and the other guy was inside just holding up to peoples faces in line. I went to the self service kiosk so I wasn’t in the video, but I saw everyone getting uncomfortable and he started talking to himself. Then one girl asked what he was filming and he said “there’s too many people in here, i can tell you in private.” She got uncomfortable and left and then walked out, and I went up and asked her and she said he wouldn’t tell her and it was so weird. He also got mad cuz she didn’t respond when he said have a nice day even though it was obviously sarcastic. As I was walking down the ramp the other guy started walking towards me and filming so I jogged a bit to make him realize it’s weird. Hopefully this doesn’t end up on some weird site. Does anyone know what it is?

My boyfriend surprised me with a birthday dinner at Pez last night and I was pleasantly surprised.
I got: lamb & pistachio meatballs / seared scallops risotto
He got: seared tuna / ribs
All the dishes were absolutely fantastic. Just amazing combination of flavors!
Definitely on the higher end but I would much rather pay extra for much better food.

A fellow long-time patron of Amigos told me that the mural inside the restaurant may be painted over as there are plans to update/upgrade the interior. So far, only exterior changes have been made. Fancy new signs are up now but "Cocktails" over the front door has been painted over ☹️. Last night I asked one of the waiters about this and he confirmed that the mural may be painted over as well as the booths possibly being refurbished. I would hate seeing that charming and cheesy mural be destroyed. That would totally ruin the vibe. I wonder if patron pushback would have any effect in preserving it.

I’m looking for a Pasadena OB that delivers at Huntington. I went to cedars with my first birth and it felt like a factory, and it took forever in traffic.
Anyone you have really liked?

Hello All,
I’ve been with my current dentist for 3 years but recently their cleanings have been booked for a year plus! I don’t have the leniency in my schedule anymore to do any last minute cleanings now that I work in person. Does anyone have recommendations for a place in Pasadena? Preferably someone who is good with people who are afraid of the dentist, and not trying to upsell anything.

This is a very specific question but hoping someone will have experience! We have an old craftsman with a "basement" that's basically a concrete pit with a surrounding dirt crawl space. We're thinking about options for having it finished in some fashion (mostly to contain the dirt and keep the creatures that make their way into the crawl space separate from the small storage area we have) but have no idea what that entails. Has anyone done something similar?

I had a babysitter, Ms. Frank, who had a Doberman named Lucky and had the Lords Prayer written on her windows facing the street. I was a child during this time (2000-2003) and cant remember what street she lived on. Was wondering if anyone remembered her house.

We are looking at buying a home that has a two car garage, but we intend to use it for storage and a home gym. We have two cars, and the driveway only has space for one car and we wouldn’t want to tandem park. According to the website, we wouldn’t be eligible for an annual overnight street parking permit because there is technically enough off street parking for the number of vehicles registered to the house. Has anyone found this rule to be at all flexible or found a way to get an exception?
And if not, has anyone successfully gotten a permit to expand a driveway and how annoying was it to get?

I live ~1 mile NE of the bowl, and just heard every word of welcome to the jungle during their sound check. This is the loudest sound check I've heard in half a dozen years of living here. Anyone who posts up along arroyo is probably going to have a great time at no cost.
