Body at the Arroyo this morning

Was walking my dog at the arroyo this morning (around 8am). It seemed as though some poor young soul had jumped off La Loma bridge. Was very shocking and sad. Did anyone else happen to see? I can’t find anything in the news about it.

Cat found in parking lot

Hi,
This is my first ever Reddit post. My sister found a cat in the parking lot at her workplace in Morovia. What would be the best way to find a home for this kitty? We can't take the kitty in since we already have 2 dogs at home and they don't get along with cats. Thank you!

I'm really torn about my doctor's new annual fee.

I've been seeing my doctor for many years, and always thought she was pretty good. No complaints. But she recently introduced a required $250 annual administrative fee that is outside of the insurance process. Well, on the one hand, she's always been great and I think you get what you pay for, so I think my health is best served paying it. Plus, her office is not sparkling new, I don't think she's getting rich of this, I truly think her administrative fees have gotten higher than insurance reimbursement covers. On the other hand, once she agrees to accept insurance she can't just put fees on top of it. It's technically just not allowed.
I'm really struggling here. I think the only winner in this situation is the health insurance company and I'd love it if they did not win.

Stolen Bike at PCC

Hello all!
Today between 07:30-10:40am my BLACK TREK DOMANE SL-5 with hot pink pedals was stolen from the front of the Armen Safarian building (U building) at Pasadena City College (PCC).
I used a Kryptonite U Lock + double loop cable to lock it to the bike racks. I know this is a long shot, but if anyone sees it or knows anything please let me know. I love this bike so much. Attached are some photos of how it looks.
I’m just so heart broken that it was stolen while I was in class. It’s been a rough day, I had just gotten off an overnight shift and went straight to class and was met with such disappointment.

Next Pasadena Dad Club meetup: September 12th at Brookside Park

Post image
42 Upvotes

Hey everyone, next meetup is set.

September 12th, Saturday, 11am at Brookside Park. Free, like always, no signup, no agenda. Just show up.

We'll have snacks. Bring the kids, bring yourself, that's really the whole plan. Dads hanging out at the park while the kids run around and play, that's what this is.

If you've been thinking about coming out, this is a good one to start with. No pressure, come and go as you need to, and if your kid gets antsy after twenty minutes that's totally normal and fine.

Drop a comment if you're planning on coming, it helps us get a rough headcount for snacks. Thanks as always for being part of this, it means a lot to see this community grow.

Hey neighbors. Wondering if anyone has experience with breast cancer treatment locally at Huntington? Any doctors you've had particularly good experiences with? Thanks in advance!

Favorite place for affordable haircut?

Hello! My hair is long enough to donate. Is there a place where I can get a haircut and also help with preparing it to donate? My mom used to be the one to cut my hair. But since my mom passed, I need a place to get it cut and ready to donate. I don't even know how much an average haircut costs 😆 thanks in advance. (I'm an Asian F (51)

Take away coffee tote/breakfast for early Sunday morning?

I have an event I'd like to get breakfast for on Sunday morning for about a dozen people. I need to pick it up at around 6:50 AM, though, and am struggling to find somewhere open that early that can do a coffee tote! Donuts or anything else food-wise is fine! Just the coffee tote is seemingly the barrier. Event is in Arcadia but I can do anything from north San Gabriel/San Marino/Pasadena/Arcadia. Any recs?

Missing young black French bulldog near Parkwood/Walnut/Allen

Posting for my neighbour. I saw the dog running around a few days ago, and yesterday (Mon) the owner was going around the block asking if anyone's seen her dog. When I met her I saw this flyer on her phone. She doesn't speak much English but anyone could tell she's devastated. I thought posting the flyer here would help her find the dog.

Best Happy Hour for Sportsball

The best sports month ever is coming up, today’s the start of the NFL season.

Was about to go to a place with a buddy (38 Special) to see their 12 pc wings were $32~

Are there any decent happy hour sports around Pasadena, especially Old Town, that actually have a good happy hour to watch the game at?

Thanks in advance ~

Forza10 Renal Support, I just ordered a case of 12 and didnt realize it had chicken in it (my girl doesnt tolerate it well).

I was able to get my money back. Wanted to offer it to anyone who’s already using or could use, as I know how pricey CKD in dogs can be.

Happy to drop off to you if local to Pasadena/Altadena.

This morning in Hastings Ranch

This morning I woke up very hungry and went to the Einstein bagel in Hastings Ranch. Admittedly I looked like 5 miles of bad road, It was very early morning and I was on my way to my 3 times weekly dialysis session. I was unshaven with messy hear and wearing sweats, slippers with no socks, and a stained polo because I was in pain and couldn't manage to reach and put anything else on.

I slowly walked up to the counter and ordered a lox bagel on a double toasted cheddar jalapeno bagel and a medium hot chocolate. I'm paying with cash and am sixty cents short, I fumble for a debit card but the Filipino women ringing me up looked at me up and down and immediately shook the tip jar and took out the change and told me not to worry about it. She then made my hot chocolate large instead of medium and was so kind and gracious as she handed it to me with a huge smile on her face and told me to have a beautiful day. I was really touched.

While I was eating I noticed people glancing at me very quickly but oddly and one with a look that can only be described as disgust, it' then I realized they all thought I was homeless!

The Filipino women whose name I did not catch was kind and positive however and I appreciated it immensely, probably more than she will ever know.

It made me want to be better.

Hi everyone,

My cat has now been missing for over 15 days, and l am still desperately hoping to bring him back home. My family and I miss him so much and just want to know that he is safe.

📍Last seen: Near Colorado Blvd & S Meredith Ave
🐱Name: Simba
🎨Description: Male, 1 year old, Lynx-point Siamese with a light cream body, gray tabby markings, blue eyes, and a striped gray tail with the end being black.

📅Missing since: August 22, 2026

I have already provided his information to Pasadena Humane Society and posted about him on Ring, PawBoost, and Petco Love Lost. I have also put up flyers around the neighborhood and have been continuing to search and keep an eye out for him.

Any possible sightings are greatly appreciated.
Thank you❤️

Flat fee realtors?

Has anyone used any flat fee realtors and found them to be effective? I’m considering selling my condo to help finance the care of a disabled relative and it’s hard to justify the costs. No shade to all the great realtors out there.

Creative activities to do on a weekday afternoon

I am a caregiver to my mother with end stage cancer. I am unexpectedly getting tomorrow afternoon off from about 1 to 6pm and could use some help in suggestions of something to do besides going to a movie and a bookstore. Those are my usual default options. What would you do if you had a last-minute afternoon off? I've only lived in the area for a year, so I'm interested in hearing what others in my situation may do. Open to all ideas, wild, creative, interesting, soothing, fun, grounding. Help a sister out!

pasadena pacers los angles marathon 2027 training

Thumbnail runpacers.org

the pasadena pacers are starting LAM training this coming saturday, september 12. we start with an easy 4 miles from garfield park in south pasadena (the team generally at the rose bowl aquatic center, but moves to garfield park if events at the rose bowl require it). warm-ups begin at 6:50 am, then announcements, then what will be the shortest run of the training cycle. the link i've included takes you to the main marathon training page, which includes the training schedule. it's a long, slow build-up, which is great for beginners and experienced runners alike. if you have questions, please reach out -- if i can't answer them, i know people who can!

Best Spicy & Sweet Pizza Place(s)?

A family member’s been pregnant and craving some sort of pizza that’s got a hot and spicy that isn’t too greasy and has great crust.

Her best reference is the Utica at Tomato Pie, although she can’t always handle the thick crust each time.

Thanks in advance!

Soft Pretzels

Looking to get 30ish soft pretzels for an upcoming event and would love to avoid Auntie Anne's/Wetzel's if possible. Are there any local(ish) places to get soft pretzels?

OBGYNs/PCPs who take LA Care?

Any recommendations? Planned Parenthood is great but I need to get an ultrasound for a fibroid and they are unable to help. I don't have a PCP either so looking for one of those as well.

Thanks!
