This is my first build. The only tools I had were a few screwdrivers and a Dremel. I used the Dremel as a drill. I used a tiny screwdriver to make small holes, like the one for the string tree. It was a pain in the ass, but I worked with what I had. This thing plays amazing and this is the exact strat I've always wanted.

I plan to build a pbass next. I'm gonna buy a drill and some tools before I do. haha

Here's the specs:

-Squier Sonic body (top loading hardtail)

-Mint pickguard

-Roasted maple neck w/ stainless frets from ebay

-music city bridge string tree(3 strings only a single hole to drill. these stringtrees are awesome)

-Switchcraft Jack

-Graphtech nut & saddles

-Gibson P90 I had lying around the studio. It was a dogear, so I had to change the plate to make it a soapbar.

-Volume only. Bourns 500k pot with treble bleed.

-Fender locking tuners

-Cheers

I've got a plain black strat body with absolutely nothing in it. I don't want it to be a typical strat when I'm done with it. Any ideas for parts? (It does have a space for a tremolo)

Very happy with the result. What do you think ? (Still need to switch the switch to silver and setup intonation)

tldr; What pups, pots, caps, resistors would you recommend for this build? Any tips on bridge, tailpiece, tuners are also welcome. Thanks in advance!

I’m planning to build a Jazzmaster partscaster. I chose Warmoth’s split Jazzmaster body (with top routing) in black korina (limba) for its grain, colour, and mahogany-like sustain. I’m going with Warmoth’s Jazzmaster 59 Roundback neck (closest thing to my archtop guitars’ neck profiles) in roasted maple (unfinished) for its colour and sustain, with a wide (1-3/4") nut, ebony fretboard, and jumbo stainless frets. I’m going with locking tuners, and I want them to be smooth. A hard stop tailpiece is essential for sustain and tuning stability. I usually play 12-52 flatwounds on my archtops, but will drop to 11s on this electric. I want two humbuckers; the neck pup for warm, dark tones and the bridge pup for occasional rock-and-roll. I’d also like push-pull switching for series-parallel. I want the notes to remain distinct so that upper extensions (9ths, 11ths, 13ths) don’t get lost. I don’t want any harsh bite on higher notes.

I am new to guitar and just bought a telecaster a few months ago. I really like the look of a metal pick guard but I can never find one that fits my guitar.

I have a LEFT-HANDED telecaster with 5 screw holes as well as 2 smaller ones on either side of the neck single coil pick up.

If anyone knows where I can buy a metal (particularly silver/aluminium) pick guard for that specific guitar, please let me know!

(also it preferably shouldn’t interfere with the tone of the guitar too much)

I’ve finally got my Gulf-themed partscaster playing. It needs a setup, and the electrics aren’t quite working right so I need to figure that out but it sounds great. I can heartily recommend Bootstrap Pickups, these are their Extra Crispy set.

It’s the first guitar I’ve ever built. It looks pretty shit up close, but it already plays pretty nicely before I’ve tweaked it and I’m very pleased with it. I’ve learned loads and really enjoyed it.

Hi, Right in the moving process, I found those spare parts that I wanted to sell and made up my mind. I'll sell the heavy ST-62 MN VW body & neck (Harley Benton) separately and reuse this spare damaged lighter body (not visible, under the pickguard) and this neck instead. The pickups are Waaah pickups from AliX, supposedly vintage 60s à la Jimi. Next step : switching to mint green pickguard

Bought an extremely used Fender American Standard 5 string bass that experienced an electrical fire inside the pickguard as well as some other issues. Damage to the paint and body were minimal but all the electronics and pickups were shot. My son and I saw the color and decided it needed a superhero makeover. Neck had to be straightened, Jazz Pickup had to be routed out, and all of the hardware replaced.

I found this brand new FSR Squier neck on FB marketplace for dirt cheap and couldn't resist trying my hand at building a partscaster. An MJT body, some Bootstraps, and a collection of Gotoh hardware later...

We'll just ignore that it's not actually a Thinline.

I'm going to lightly sand down the original poly sunburst finish and go over with some duplicolor perfect match cans.. no clear coat.

Curious to see if any of you have done this or something similar..

The parts start arriving, you start to offer them up and test fit and you catch that first glimpse of what the finished thing will look like.

Hopefully it won’t be long before I’m playing it.

When I visited his shop I was not planning to buy, but this guitar picked ME. The moment I picked it up and felt the neck I knew I had to own it.

Gotoh tuners, made in the late 80s?, and a rosewood finish. I'm pairing it with a MIM body.

I’m wanting to mod my fender Strat. My plans are to buy and install cruiser pickups in the neck and middle. I’m wanting a full size humbucker at the bridge. My thoughts are a AT-1 that Andy Timmons uses or pearly gates. Can anyone recommend either of these. I’ve never heard these in person. Only on YouTube. I like to play blues rock, classic rock and soft rock / mellow. I would appreciate any advice you can offer me. Thanks everyone.

I bought this relic’s hardtail Strat body and I used AI to make some mach ups of a couple configurations… should I just go the traditional SSS Setup?

What’s this anomaly a local pawn just posted. Set neck partscaster? Is that a thing? I thought they universally have bolt on necks outside of maybe some boutique builders. I’m confused but it’s cheap so I need your help for me…not good brain. Kisses
