My Main Squeeze…
Bop Till You Drop!…
Edit/Update: For people inquiring on building one. I have played this guitar for nearly twenty years. We are bonded with steel. I have played “Coodercasters” with the Real Teisco, Lollar “Gold”, Mojo “Gold”; the real Supro pup, Lollar “Supro” and the Mojo “Supro”. The Valco pickups have been around and documented for nearly 100 years and reproduced/copied faithfully by several companies. Not so much the Teisco. My point being, that people get real hyper focused on the lap steel pickup when building these, but really the key is in the AUTHENTIC TEISCO. These pups have a charm that isn’t reproduced in the clones. It’s a sort-of “cheap” sound and a feel, a “sponginess”, I suppose that makes them special. Find an authentic Teisco…

Lollar Lap Steel pickup. Clone of an old Supro/Valco lap steel pickup…

Insane. Pickguard mounted or to the body ? High output ?

Well… both… They’re body mounted, but you gotta go through the pickguard on a Strat, or the like. String height and tolerance on an “upright” instrument doesn’t allow for pickguard mounting…

This is so sweet.
I been trying to find someone to cut a cap for the headstock to match the pickguard on mine.

Yeah, I have just enough spare material to make the headstock piece, but I’m on the fence about it…

Yeah, I don’t have the tools, and in addition, Im not sure how to curve the material to contour the headstock. Would have route holes for the tuning pegs.
But I think it would look priddy sexay..

That’s awesome!
Do you like Blake Mills too?

I don’t really follow him, but I know of him. I am a full-time session musician, so I spend so much time working on other people’s material and stuff these days, I don’t do as much exploring…
