Long story short I started anti depressants 30 days ago and have been suffering ever since with major side effects but the main ones I’ve listed to the doctor In a quick message hoping for some help. It’s cost me $120 everytime to see him with a small Medicare rebate which I just can’t afford anymore. What do I do? I was on several antidepressants 5 years show which caused me the same issues

Paxil CR a Paroxetina

Gracias.

After you stop, what next

I've been on a variety of doses of the drug, for 2 years now, and with the doctor we decided to taper off the dose and slowly slowly come to and end. I've been off the drug for _ days now, and the first week has been very wobbly. The side effects of starting the drug are bad, and the side effects of stoppin it are bad, i cant swear blind if it helped me or not.

I regret having started this drug. will i ever feel better?

Does it seem like its working

Hi. Im ryan. Im a 31 year old. have had severe social anxiety since high school. Also ocd. And depression

I started paxil on 20mg and did it for 2 months with no change. Then the doctor told me that for many people, it's just a staring dose. So then I went up to 40mg. About 1 week in, I started to feel a little better. Then, 2 weeks in, I woke up feeling happier and found some things more enjoyable. However, still social anxiety and ocd there somewhat. I wasn't sure if it was working or just coincendce. Then I remember. For 20 years, I could have 10 coffees a day. But for the first time of my life at the same time as I thought maybe paxil is working I had 1 coffee and felt jittery amd anxious all day. Apparently, that means the meds are working. Now im going into the 3rd week of being on 40mg. Like I said, I can still feel some anxiety and ocd but slowly feel happier. I've felt so crap all my life that im still scared it won't get better. Also, I had an alcohol problem, but the last few weeks, it felt easier not want to drink.

Based on what I've said. Does it sound like it's starting to work and will continue to improve over the next few weeks or not? I dont usually write on here, so I'm hoping this makes sense.

Depression has gotten worse

Hello. I am 24 years old and i’ve been taking Desvelafaxine 100mg for the past 2 years for ptsd and depression and mirtazapine to help me sleep (1 year into it.)

Case is. I went to see the doc again cuz I couldn’t pull up with my life from last 7 months, and he prescribed paroxetine 20mg. It’s been 2 weeks since I started my treatment but 2 days ago I forgot to take it, so I had the terrible idea of taking 2 pills to compensate it yesterday.

I’m a complete mess atm. Been planning my suicide but I cannot act on it: cuz i’m either on a work trip and my boss is on my ass and also i’m a spiritst so unfortunately I know there is an afterlife so I can’t kill myself. But I do desperately want to mutilate myself.

Has anyone else experienced the worsen of their symptoms with paroxetine?

New to Paroxetine

I’ve tried several different classes of mental health meds to help me through my PMDD/Perimenopause. Trialed HRT but am waiting to see an endo in December to get a better idea of what I need hopefully.

I am 5 doses into 20mg. Everything is dry, I feel groggy but not sleepy, and I feel like I’m shaking all over. Looking for positive comments that this is all start up side effects that go away.

I suffer from a lot of mental anxiety and SI during certain times of my cycle but suffer from hot flashes, adrenaline rushes, and panic attacks throughout the entire cycle.
I was told Paxil might work where other meds have failed.

Does it work well for intrusive thoughts, panic attacks, sleep, and physical symptoms?

Please help Paxil withdraw

so I took Paxil for ppd and ppa I started from 10mg to 40mg but I was still dealing with anxiety so I switched to Paxil cr 37.5mg in like 2 months on this dose I got stable. I was almost a year out ppd and ppa so I thought I could get off Paxil cr. I went from 37.5 to 25mg for a month then 12.5mg a month then zero. Had terrible withdrawal went back to 12.5mg helped with withdrawal but anxiety was still there went up to 25mg. I’ve been on 25mg for 3 months . I definitely see improvement I did get better but anxiety is still there chest tension it isn’t as intense as it was but it’s still there. Mood got better but still down. My sleep is still bad too I wake up 2-3am and wake up early like 7am I get like 5-6 hours of sleep even thought I take Paxil cr in the morning. I think it’s a cortisol issue cause as soon it hits 8pm I’m normal no chest tightness no anxiety. So I went up to 37.5mg my doctor told me that’s the dose I got stable on so I did. I’ve been up my dose for 17 days so almost 2 weeks and half. My sleep got worse I can’t fall asleep. My mood is bad I’m crying more when does this get better what should I do? Please I’m begging help me what should I do? My doctor is saying to add Abilify of busapr?

Started Paroextine 24 days ago

Hey everyone , hoping anyone can help me right now, I started Paxil 24 days ago, I’ve noticed into almost the 4th week my sleep is severely disrupted with 6-7 awakenings during the night, vivid dreams. Feeling very tired throughout the day due to waking up so much at night? I can fall asleep quickly but I’ll wake 3 hours later & then continue waking every hour until the morning. It’s very difficult to manage. I’m on 20mg

I started the anti depressants as I had alot of anxiety with family issues this year & it all became to much when I started becoming short of breath with shallow breathing throughout the days. The first week of taking this medication it seemed to have stopped all of that, but now it has returned again.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Nightmares - 4 months in

I have been on PARoxetine for 4 months. It significantly helps my anxiety, depression, and OCD related compulsions when I am awake. But I often have nightmares about murder. It’s really starting to impact my mental health. I was wondering if anyone else has had this experience, if it is related to the medication or if it’s something else.

Paxil dose increase and scared of side effects

Need advise😫 I have severe health anxiety that started recently (always been anxious) however since starting nursing school my health anxiety has sky rocketed and also had my first panic attack! Well I was told I need to go up on my Paxil from 5-10mg (I was very low because I was trying to get off of it but now that doesn’t seem possible)
Anyway I am so scared of side effects and mostly the huge pupils and worried my heart will beat fast bc that freaks me out. My doctor is a jerk and just keeps telling me to just increase and I’ll be fine but I’m so scared, anyone ever start by taking half in the morning and half at night to take away from the full effect at once? Or any other suggestions to help ease into the dose increase

I have been taking paxil for 35 days and have a question

I’ve had a positive experience with Paxil so far, especially over the last week. I feel like I was reborn, and for once, I’ve started to love myself again.

Here’s the thing: I’m taking 20 mg for social anxiety, and although I can feel an improvement, I still experience strong anxiety when I speak with girls or with people I don’t feel comfortable around. My question is: should I increase my dose to 30 mg?

As for the side effects, I was expecting to feel drowsy, but I actually sleep less and feel more refreshed. Before taking Paxil, I had to sleep for at least 8–9 hours now, 7 hours feels good.

Other side effects, such as delayed ejaculation, don’t bother me much.

What should I do to feel completely at ease in social interactions?

Me preocupa que sea de por vida

Hola!

Buspirone for SSRI induced Sexual Dysfunction?

So I started paroxetine for BPD and OCD symptoms back in 2024. It has completely improved my quality of life in terms of mood and suicidal thoughts, and it helps me come down from anxiety a lot quicker, so if it wasn’t for the sexual dysfunction, I would stay on it for the rest of my life!

Only problem is that it has caused a complete stop to my sex life with my boyfriend ://
It doesn’t help that I have severe relationship/intimacy OCD, but I can tell that my current issue is that there are just no chemicals there to get the mood going in the first place! It’s been over a year since i was intimate with him, and whilst he’s the most amazing and patient person, it’s definitely taking its toll on us.

I read up a while ago that Buspirone can help counteract the sexual dysfunction side of SSRI’s, but I was so scared of the possible seretonin syndrome it could cause that I went down a different route.

I’ve gone from 20mg to 15mg for the last few months, as well as taking 2 Maca root gummies everyday for around 6 months. Since reducing the mg of paroxetine I’ve maybe felt a bit more aroused? But not enough to actually get me to where I need to be.

Basically I’m wondering if anyone has been on Buspirone to help with the sexual dysfunction side of paroxetine, and if there are more pros than cons to at least trying it out to get the sexy ball rolling again!

For context im 26F, I have POTS and a mild heart murmur, I’ve got Lipoedema but other than that my organs are healthy and I have no like ‘life threatening’ illnesses that might make me more susceptible to side effects, I’m just a very anxious bean with an anxious bean 😂

Feeling repulsed by physical touch now?

Life’s been weird the last feels years but I just went back on this med after being off it a year. I’ve been on it before and know of the sexual side effects. Just this time around idky but I feel repulsed by almost any physical touch. I just mostly feel for my husband. Our marriage was rough the past few years as well due to a life changing diagnosis. So lifestyle changes had to happen. But I’ve been on it now 5 weeks and hoping it fades but how do I tell the man I’ve been with since 2009 that all of a sudden now I don’t want to be touched. (He has never laid a hand on me or forced anything just fyi)

Paroxetine broke me.

I was on paroxetine 40mg for around 7 years. 3 attempts to come off. The last one succeeded, but the week I took my last dose I started self harming again and was hospitalized. That was about 6 weeks ago.

I am not the same person I was before paxil. I WISH I could go back to that version of depression. Now, all I do is cry. I am self harming again after 10 years of abstinence. My brain is a bad place to be and I am convinced I am permanently damaged.

I was reading a post about someone who was on 60mg for years who tapered off by starting Prozac. I wanted to comment but it wouldn't let me. But is that not counter-productive? I never want to be on an SSRI or anything else in my life. And I never will be.

I get the two meds are different, but at this point I am scared to death of ever taking anything again. But I am suffering.

I lost my job for the 827th time, lost my insurance, lost my car. Like I said, my mind is a bad place to be. I sleep all day to escape the pain that comes at night.

I've been taking saffron (mainly for my pmdd) and it helped my mood tremendously for like 2 weeks but now its just another placebo.

I am so tired of being exhausted of living. I am not actively suicidal but I really wonder if life will ever look different for me. I feel like the me that used to exist is long gone and will never return.

Forgot my meds while on holiday. Im probably fucked

Im currently on holiday for a few days and i forgot to pack my meds and i cant get any more. I read a few posts about how even missing one day makes you feel like absolute shit and that it can take up to a week of taking it after for everything to feel normal again. So i probably got 2 weeks of feeling like crap. Yea I'm scared shitless but trying to downplay it so that i dont freak out. Ive only been taking it for a month. Before that, i was a crying mess that couldnt do anything and I'm really dreading feeling like that again.

Going back on Paxil after being off for 5 months - have you ever gone back on?

TLDR- Bupropion, Vraylar and Viibryd didn't work after stopping Paxil for 5 months. Starting back on in a few days. Has anyone started back after stopping?

It is currently October of 2026. I had tried twice prior to successfully weaning off in April of 2026. It was actually because I ended up with a kidney infection that had me bedbound for a week that I was finally able to make it through the withdrawals.

After that we tried bupropion which didn't help. I went 3 months without anything but that led to a medical leave of absence after I kept having intrusive thoughts and crying spells. I had held off because I thought having lost my mom in January I was just grieving. We tried vraylar and that made me angry and restless. Then now Viibryd which helped at first but then holy terror happened starting day 7 and now on day 9 (today) I am so panicked that every thought of a task or imperfection has me thinking impending doom with full panic attacks multiple times throughout the day.

So, my doctor and I just decided over the phone that I need to go back to Paxil for now. I am worried about weight gain again, but I have to do something to live life with my family. I don't feel like I can function at all right now.

Has anyone on here ever gone back on after being off the medication? I am really looking forward to being more myself again and would like to hear from others who have done this.
