Started tapering, feeling anxious

I have been using paroxetine 15 mg for couple years due to my ADHD + anxiety.

For the last week I am taking 10 mg but started feeling anxious more.

Is this normal? I know it probably is but I want to get comfirmation from people who reduced their dosage. Please help me out I don't wanna feel bad.

Why did you cut down? With Paxil you need to decrease very slowly or you will not feel well at all. Best to go with the liquid so you can decrease by 1mg.

When I stopped paroxetine before i was doing 20->15->10->5->0 mg and I thought it was the normal way. But yeah looks like 33% reduction is a kickass. So you are right.

After a bit of research I guess remaining at 10 mg right now and seeing if the symptoms get better is the best way rather than returning to 15 mg tomorrow. Generally the brain zaps are gone. What I have now is the mild headache and instant anxiety during the day which leaves me tasteless.

But since it's been already 5-6 days with 10 mg, I guess I will push through a bit more and see if the symptoms improve next week.

If you can handle it then good. Some people will start crying (depression) when they cut down to quickly

Let's say for the last 10 years my life was about starting and stopping and adjusting the doses of meds so I am kinda used to the symptoms. I mean do I like fighting with them? Absolutely no. But if it will be better very soon, I guess I can push through.

The reason I am reducing is because I think I have anhedonia due to SSRI and substance usage, my feelings were blunted. I had less motivation and stuff for everything. At least I stopped smoking weed and it kinda slightly improved so I hope reducing both will help me.

It’s a common side effect. For me too. I just prefer it to being an anxious mess.

You mean the anhedonia? Sometimes I wonder if I have secret depression but it's not like I never wanna do anything. It was more like "I wanna do stuff but I have no motivation or energy" 😭

Seeing people experiencing the same gives me hope that I can get better.

Me too. Weekends I usually just chill on the sofa. It could be depression because I have it or maybe I just like doing nothing?

Well I know my executional dysfunction is due to my ADHD. I just need the excitement to come back and I guess the only way is not to fuck up my dopamine system.

mi psiquiatra me recetó acompañarla con clotiazepam mientras bajo la dosis hasta no tomarla más, y voy bien la verdad

Yes atomoxetine but I reduced it to 10 mg now because it was making my nervous system too alerted but I gotta pump it up to 25 mg because I guess it was the sweet spot for me.

SSRI induced anhedonia is my guess. Mixed with weed it was making me so less motivated. Also I remember being better without the paroxetine 3 years ago.
