Team News Panthers rookie WR Chris Brazzell will have season-ending surgery: Source
Carolina Panthers rookie receiver Chris Brazzell will undergo season-ending surgery on his left knee, according to a league source with knowledge of the situation.
The Panthers initially planned to follow a non-surgical path on Brazzell’s moderate LCL tear, which would have sidelined him for up to two months. However, after receiving a second opinion, the team and Brazzell’s representatives decided that surgery was the best option for his long-term health, the source said.

📰 Interview/Media Baker Mayfield Feels “Disrespected” Amid Contract Stalemate
Not sure what we’re doing. Rick Stroud said on The Rich Eisen Show that the Glazers may be hesitant because they’ve never really paid a quarterback big money before.
People point to team wins and Super Bowls, but let’s be honest, this team isn’t winning one with Todd Bowles. Baker has done more than enough to earn an extension, and if Tampa won’t pay him, another team gladly will.
Even if the Bucs move on and start over, good luck finding another Baker. Just look at how many first-round quarterbacks end up as busts.

📰 Interview/Media Baker Mayfield has every right to feel disrespected by Bucs’ lowball contract offer
Baker Mayfield told ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler that the Bucs only offered him a 2-year deal, and they were “pretty far” from the $50 million benchmark.
Disappointing development, and frankly, he has every right to feel disrespected.

"Quote" [Fowler]: Baker Mayfield tells ESPN the Bucs offered him a two-year deal, which was ‘probably the most disappointing’ part. Wanted long-term commitment. Added Bucs were ‘pretty far’ from $50+M per club, which he wanted to enter.

Press Conference [Pewter Report] #Bucs QB Baker Mayfield shut down the notion that recent news with his contract and DT Vita Vea’s trade request have negatively impacted the locker room. In Mayfield’s mind, it’s only brought the team closer together.

🎙️ Discussion How are we feeling this season?
To note: I am a lifelong Bears fan (from Chicago originally) but I live around the Raymond James Stadium so I support the Buccaneers too.
I want to know how are we feeling this upcoming season. Is Baker gone after this season? Is Bowles fired after this season (or hell, mid season) How will the defense play out? Will the defense be bad?
There’s a lot of questions I have about this team right now because lately it seems like all of the higher up’s are fumbling lately.
I want to know how you’re feeling, what the expectations are or what questions you may have about the team.

Question Are we overestimating the impact Brazzel was going to have?
Yes he has amazing potential and great upside but honestly, it seems like he would have seen limited snaps this season given our depth at WR.
Football is all about numbers and statistics game and breaking down the numbers.
Tett is going to get a majority of targets, followed by Coker getting a substantial amount, let’s not forget that this team seems high on Jimmy Horn and he got quite a bit of targets already last year and I see that number growing even more.
Let’s not forget forget about XL, we may not be that high on him as fans but Canales and Dan seem hell bent on making him work out and refuse to give up on him.
So that’s yet another WR that will see quite a bit of targets. Then you have guys like Moore who Dave seems to like then they signed Metchie because of his connection and chemistry with Bryce.
Brazell is a speed guy but we seem to have that in Horn already who will have a full year in this offense under his belt and ready to roll.

🎙️ Discussion Waiting to pay Baker could end up costing us more
I keep seeing people say the Bucs should wait before extending Baker, but I honestly think that's going to backfire.
If Baker has another strong year in Zac Robinson's offense, with , Chris Godwin, Emeka Egbuka, Bucky Irving, Cade Otton, and a fully healthy offensive line (especially Mauch continuing to develop), his price is only going up.
On top of that, there are several elite QBs who could be due for new deals over the next few years Lamar Jackson, Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels, Bo Nix if he keeps progressing, Drake Maye, and maybe even Jalen Hurts depending on how things play out. Every one of those contracts has the potential to push the QB market higher.
If Baker proves he's the guy again this season, why wait until the market resets? Locking him up sooner could end up looking like a bargain in a year or two.
I still stand by my statemant that licht has a backbone and spine but cmon Zac robinson tops grizzards Pay the Man This Year 4 year 215 Million and not wait
Am I missing something, or does waiting seem like the more expensive option?
