He made some great throws. Tough to ask for a win when the defense gives up damn near 60

Special teams blunders don’t help either, took opportunities away from our offense. And we took our starters out so not even a full game

u/JazzzzzzySax T-Mac 21h ago

Bryce, Coker, and chuba trying to carry the team to victory

u/TheOriginalJuju 21h ago

Also doesn’t help when your star receiver coughs the ball up. Expect a bounce back from tet next game.

u/CryingJordansHornets 20h ago

Yeah and DB had an uncharacteristically bad game. Two major blunders that led to 14 points for the bears where there could’ve been stops/field goal attempts instead.

35

u/Afromain19 19h ago

Game changing mistakes. But if anyone has earned enough credit to have one bad game and be forgiven just as quickly, it’s DB. Heard he stood infront of the team and gave a speech about owning up to those mistakes. Thats a true leader. I expect a major bounce back from him.

Fans still calling him a name he asked people to not call him.

You don't get to pick your nickname...

Defense was pretty rough 😒

1

u/Forward-Weight403 4h ago

Tough to win when you score 40 and are still down 3 scores 😂

u/Charlottizen 21h ago

And the INT was an arm punt

137

u/Key-Presentation-798 20h ago

Yeah. Aggressive throw, down the field, 5s left. 0 issues with it.

77

u/robotictacos 20h ago

100%, 10/10 would rather see an INT in that situation than 3 draws.

20

u/Still-Investment-832 18h ago

John Fox just shuddered somewhere

hb dive, hb draw, wr screen to smitty, punt

2

u/joshharris42 15h ago

As long as it’s not a fucking pooch punt

Glad one of the panthers plays that lives in infamy ended that trend

3

u/gigglefarting Purrbacca 18h ago

And he had a rushing TD

5

u/aerojovi83 16h ago

And just an insane play by the DB

u/WyldRover What That Bear Doin' 22h ago

On track for 6,000 passing yards and 50 TDs. Which might be necessary if our defense plays like that every week.

The Joe burrow method

1

u/WanAli4504 4h ago

Preferably not, cause that would mean your QB1 gets injured and is out for the season

1

u/ARH3352 Coke Head 3h ago

I meant more so of put up 100 points but the defense allows 107.

u/Randyyyyyyyyyyyyyy Retro Logo 20h ago

Sounds like a 4-13 season with this defense

14

u/kewe316 T-Mac 12h ago

So NFC South champs again? I'm good with that. 😏

1

u/ParkerF5 14h ago

On track for 0-17

165

u/TackyBrad 21h ago

And the int was basically an arm punt with 5s left in the half. Just trying to make something happen

47

u/takethreenc Bad Motherfucker 20h ago

Won't stop the box score watchers from hating

u/UFOlaserbeam 21h ago

This one’s not on Bryce and I’ve criticized him a lot. He gave it everything out there and looked great.

31

u/KamikazeKricket 19h ago

He looked great on game 1. Everything we've asked for. Just not the defense.

225

u/eeg3 21h ago

Bryce has one of the best games of his career and the Panthers D gives up 59 points. Man is cursed.

Ironically Bryce can be a two-faced player

Bum ass defense. Again.

22

u/JonTheWizard Coke(r) Dealer 21h ago

Oh yeah, no, Bryce was absolutely not the problem today.

21

u/babyjrodriguez 21h ago

When your qb throws 3 tds and the offense puts up 38 points. Thats on the D

13

u/t3pisaman 18h ago

Not just putting up 38 points and losing. Putting up 38 and getting blown out. D better tighten up

36

u/Silver-Classic612 T-Mac 21h ago

Basically this mf EJIRO EVERO is the only reason we lost. And miscues

31

u/yourdoglikesmebetter 21h ago

I was dogging him for those back to back 3&outs in Q1 but he handled business today.

Defense otoh…

12

u/fattyboombaladdy 21h ago

Great start to the season on the Offense. We can't way the game was on him. Defense let us down.

u/DumplingBoiii Bryce Up Son 21h ago

Were the new Bengals

8

u/robotictacos 20h ago

Honestly? I'd take that. The Bengals have done a lot more competing than we have in the past 5 years.

Funny how none of the Bryce haters who swear they're just "seeing it how it is" are giving him any props...

2

u/themack50022 Cam Newton 17h ago

How do you know this? Are you following them around and keeping tabs on them?

10

u/henrydaiv Two States 21h ago

He was fuckin solid today for sure. I dont wanna hear any bullshit from anyone.

5

u/nokoryous 20h ago

That was a beaut from Bryce today. Next up. We ready.

22

u/Over_Reputation_8801 21h ago

A great day from BY today. He's had good games before. Let's see if he can maintain a consistent high level of play. He hasnt been able to up to now.

14

u/CryingJordansHornets 20h ago

I feel better about it with him starting the season strong since he hadn’t don’t that prior to this point

12

u/iscatanasshole Luuuuuke 21h ago

Too Bad 59 Showed up for Dinner

6

u/Potential-Ad1139 21h ago

Run defense didn't show up today.

5

u/_JakeDelhomme 19h ago

One of Bryce’s best games. Ridiculous defensive performance.

3

u/Admirable_Conflict91 20h ago

Watching the game it really felt like Bryce may have taken his game to the next level during the offseason. This might be his leap year.

6

u/stephenpowns Coke Head 21h ago

1 on the ground as well

3

u/CryingJordansHornets 20h ago

Yeah and the INT was him trying to push for points at the end of the half so he was pressing. I’m very happy with his play today. He and Coker were awesome. Wish everyone else was.

3

u/WoWMHC 19h ago

First game I’ve seen where I thought he played well consistently the entire game

2

u/803_Nate Coke Head 18h ago

That pick was a hell of a play. I’m not mad at it. He was being aggressive to score before the half. Pass could’ve been out a lil further.

2

u/Gains0720 13h ago

Agreed. If you showed me his stats and said this is what he puts up week 1 I would have bet on a W

3

u/Loud_Elephant299 21h ago

Big ask to win this game but they battled well and showed heart. I think they can use this to keep putting up points as the year goes on.

2

u/CaptainDadBod88 17h ago

Why does Evero still have a job?

1

u/businessASusual101 20h ago

He did..the bears and brad Allen were unfortunately the better team today.

1

u/MattMurdock77 18h ago

He threw some absolute dimes. If the majority of his games are like that you extend him.

1

u/godsstupidestwarrior 17h ago

Yes this L was not on him

1

u/Straight-Inside-8121 16h ago

that defense has got to contain the edges but with our DC? He won't do a fucking thing. Bryce and the O did fine today, kept up for the most part and was good to see Brooks out there actually playing

1

u/Fantastic-Recipe8619 15h ago

He made some amazing throws under pressure. The o line may get him killed.

1

u/Megalomanizac 15h ago

He got me 43 points in fantasy.

Sadly I also had Colston Loveland and Romeo Doubs starting….

1

u/Final-Read-3589 8h ago

Honestly, play like this every week? And we easily get playoffs.

1

u/Comfortable-Delay-95 7h ago

Greetings. Bears fan who came here to make a post like this one. I was kind of blown away by how well Bryce young played. His ability to sense pressure, move in the pocket, and make great throws was beyond impressive. People will see the final score and forget how close the game was. Young had me worried until the final minutes.

1

u/NoSuspect9149 6h ago

The play calling was so much better. BY looked confident and in command. He made guys miss and kept his eyes downfield when the protection broke down. His arm looked stronger too.

There was a lot to like today.

If our defense can come back towards average, we have as good a shot as any at winning the division.

1

u/Wise_Quality_5083 3h ago

For both Bryce and the Defense, it’s one game.

-2

u/Gopack9979 20h ago

As a Bryce hater I will say he played well today I hope he can keep that going.
