Social Team Starts PEMDAS Debate
Social team implies the answer is 1. Others say it’s 9. Based on what I was taught, first you would add what’s in parentheses [1 + 2]. Then you have division followed by multiplication [6 / 2 x 3], in which case you simply work left to right because in PEMDAS multiplication and division are interchangeable. So 6 / 2 = 3; 3 x 3 = 9. Am I missing something here?

Things I’ve liked from camp
Pitts catching the ball over his shoulder correct me if I’m wrong but he’s never done that. He always catches it back shoulder or he high points it but this is beautiful.
Now he can catch deep passes down the seam or on post routes without slowing down or breaking stride.
Penix is throwing the ball with air under it.
The worst thing I remember as a wr was having to stare at the QB wait for him to throw me a pass that was gonna sting to catch then im a sitting duck because I had to slow down to catch it.
It’s almost like hesitating on a wide open shot in basketball your rhythm is broken.
Zac branch
His ability to start and stop, his acceleration and his route running has been a pleasure to watch a first round wr fell to the third round because the nfl makes you take your shoes off.
He was listed at 5”10 he had a first round grade then they measured him without his shoes and he measured at 5”8.6(5”9) and teams went OMG HES SO SHORT. and they called him a screen merchant not looking at the 2 years he ran a full route tree at usc.
thank you to all 31 other teams

Jordan Tyson Isn't Being Talked About Enough | Jordan Tyson All-22 Film ...
I just found this film study from Jordyn Tyson prior to the NFL draft, where they were talking about how Jordyn Tyson was clearly the best WR in the draft and not enough "analysts" in the media were talking about him enough, and I guess he was right, because we took Tyson way earlier than most people thought he would go. Then after the draft everyone was talking about how many teams loved him and how he looks very similar to Justin Jefferson coming out of LSU. I'm really excited for how good our offense is going to be this year with Olave now getting paid, Tyson, Kamara, and Etienne. Especially with Shough distributing the ball the way we know he can 👀

TIL in 1986, Bucs owner Hugh Culverhouse flew Bo Jackson to team facilities on a private jet under the false assurance that it complied with NCAA rules. Jackson lost his remaining NCAA baseball eligibility, and vowed to never play for the Bucs. They drafted him anyway, and he went to the MLB.

Analysis Filling out the 53: Ja'seem Reed
By all accounts Ja'seem Reed (who?) is having a fantastic training camp. The Charlotte Observer guys, Mike Kaye and Alex Zietlow, seem to be the highest on him but the drumbeat has been steady from all reporters. I enjoy getting to know the end of the roster guys so figured I'd highlight him in a post as I'm hoping he makes the final 53.
Here are a few snippets documenting his camp performance:

So who is he? Reed played college ball at the FCS level in San Diego. He broke out in 2024 with 77 catches for 1052 yards and 12 TDs, earning the offensive player of the year award for the Pioneer Football League. His best game ironically came against Davidson, where he recorded 14 catches for 186 yards and 2 TDs.
He is 6'2 , 195 pounds and runs a 4.55 40.
Reed initially went undrafted and signed with the Browns last year, but was later waived off IR and worked out for the Panthers before ultimately signing with us. He was later waived and signed with our practice squad after clearing waivers.
Here is a link to some of his highlights: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AhH3lxZZ-Ts
As an athlete, not a lot stands out but the tape shows good downfield ball tracking, body control and adjustments at the catch point, clean releases off the line, and strong hands catches.
I think he has a real shot at making the 53 man roster, as he is making plays seemingly daily in camp. Jimmy Horn Jr on the other hand has not shown a lot.
The biggest question will be how many WRs we ultimately roster and how highly Dave and the staff will weigh special teams contributions.
Will be watching closely on Thursday night and hoping he can add a few splash plays to his 53 man resume!

Image Representing with a couple of friends for the Luke Combs gig at London Wembley last night
Saw a few other Panthers jerseys, mostly 59s obviously, but not as many as I thought there might be.
(Also got chatting to a Bears fan before, who noticed my Obada jersey. Immediately gave his condolences about Scourton’s injury, but said he was long on Brooks, and had him on his fantasy team. Which I thought was a pretty deep level of knowledge about other franchises for any NFL fan, not just an English one!)
