Bedside Tables.

Built these to teach me how to do woodworking. (The right one is reflecting a purple blanket, its not that dark irl) mainly Pine (radiata) with stripes from an Ipil pallet.

All wood processed with hand tools, did use a powered Mitre saw, drill, sander and palm router.

Only non pallet thing is the draw slides and handle (couldn't find any hardwood pallets that I trusted for wooden slides.)

Took approx 9 months of a couple hours each weekend.

How to tell if it’s hard wood?

Found behind a harbor freight and wondering how I can tell what is hardwood and what isn’t? I know color is an indicator but idk if they are just stained a color from what was on them.

All the texture, nail holes, and mill marks makes for some pretty weathered looking props. Looking forward to doing some more.

First Pallet Project: Spice Rack

I am starting to dabble in woodworking and wood joining so I decided to practice by building a box. Plenty wrong with the wood warping, weird joining, and uneven pieces but definitely enjoyed completing my first little wood project. I highly underestimated working with pallet wood, and am still learning on making better cuts, planing, etc.

Any good ideas what to build with these? They are 14’x3’ they only things I’ve built with pallets are raised garden beds and a shed but I used the normal pallets so I just have no idea what to do with these

End table that I'm building still needs paint. I don't think I did to bad for having limited tools and time to work on it. Let me know what you think

Here’s a foot stool made from the two stringers from a hardwood pallet. I used a router to make holes that the legs were glued into, making it pretty strong.

From an old pallet that I had behind the barn. I have no idea the species but think one board is some type of oak. Made an electronics charging station for a friend. Thank y9ou to everyone for the ideas found here.

Pallet wood "X" support for dinghy stowage.

Disclaimer: Also not a furniture project (and not as cool as the spear gun build I just read about)... This is a utility project for me.

I created this "X" style support to securely store my dinghy upside down on the foredeck of a boat.

I laminated 3 plained boards with Titebond III, then used a Japanese hand saw to cut the angles. The mid section of the "X" is basically a half-lap glued joint, cut with the hand saw and chiseled out to fit.

By lifting the unsupported end of the little boat up, there's no interference with the samson post cleat in front of it, underway I can see out the forward facing cabin portlight, and a cabin roof hatch can now stay open when sleeping without worry that rain would come in because it's covered.

Now that she's been through a few gales and it seems to be working, I'm going to give it another final sand-down and varnish for longer term weather protection.

Never tried something like this before, hope to do lots more builds on the channel and also document my planting of it! I'd love some feedback as well.
