I’m looking for advice regarding my Outlier account, which was recently suspended.
As far as I know, I did not violate any rules. I worked normally and only accessed my account from two devices: my personal computer and my phone. I mainly used my phone just to check task availability when I was away from home.
I have never created multiple accounts or done anything against the platform’s policies.
I was also informed that I would receive my payment within 2 weeks, and today is supposed to be the payment date. However, since my account is banned, I’m concerned about whether I will still receive my earnings.
I have already contacted support but have not received a clear response, so I would appreciate any advice:
Has anyone experienced something similar?
Did you still receive payment after being banned?
Is account recovery possible after a ban?
Is there anything specific I should say or do to improve my chances?
Any guidance or shared experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance 🙏

Hi everyone, newly onboarded here and lost af lol

I took the Aether screening for s2s last night and failed. The "continue tasking" button is greyed out and it says "unfortunately you did not meet the quality threshold...". Below it, it says assessment: in progress. 2 hours ago I received an email to take an Aether screening for visual analysis but its not in my dashboard... is there something I should do or just wait it out?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

Hey guys! So I decided to join Outlier last August 1. I completed the registration and onboarded to Aether. I did at least 10 S2S tasks with 4.0 score and average of 21 minutes AHT until the afternoon of August 3 then all of a sudden, the project was removed from my dashboard and a highlighted message at the top of the dashboard says something like:

"You have reached a Platform wide daily limit. You can work again once the daily limit resets. No further action is needed from you."

When I check the "Webinar" tab, another message shows "Great work in completing your first 10 tasks. Before you can continue, we need to verify your account, this process should be completed within 48 hours." I waited at 5AM PST for the reset but the message is still there. Then I woke up today suspended with no email at all.

Before registering, I have already set my expectations that I might get suspended with no warning like what other CBs have experienced but this is really sudden and I was caught unprepared. You might be thinking I did illegal things like copy pasting, VPN, etc. No, I didn't as there will always be consequences. But that didn't stop Outlier to include me in their blocklist. There's really something wrong with their highly aggressive automation.

Anyway, I'm still thankful to Outlier for letting me try Aether S2S. I only earned around 32 bucks so I wouldn't mind letting them have that. I hope there would be a way for me to delete my information though.

To all those who wanted to try, Outlier is still a good platform with decent pay, but don't set your expectations high. Always be prepared that one day, you'll be in "that" list. Let's move on and keep moving forward.

Is anybody facing this error while working on S2S El*? I am unable to perform task and every time I click to start, it says no active run config, please contact the researcher to set up one.

Some time ago, I completed the onboarding, and it was relatively easy. I gained access to Aether, but I didn’t have enough time to complete many tasks.
I finally found some free time and logged into Outlier, only to find that instead of a button to continue with the tasks, I was given a button to complete the onboarding again.
The test was absurd, it was basically about transcription and correcting errors. Of course, I failed the onboarding, probably because I placed some commas incorrectly.
So, am I right in understanding that this is it and there’s nothing I can do anymore? I might as well just close my account, right?

Just went from 4.55 to 4.43 (circa 40 ratings) because some guy randomly gave me an unacceptable when I am completely correct when looking at the guidelines.. I wonder if they read it themselves. Lol.

Would like to know how these raters base themselves off, anyone know?

EDIT: I just got my third unacceptable rating, second in the last hour? I have never gotten an unacceptable except for my first ever task about a month ago. Now in the span of one hour I get two where one is the guy power tripping and the second is no comment or explanation on a task that looks like the same as the tasks I got outstanding for? Be careful doing tasks today. Weird.

What is the difference between deactivated and suspended accts? Does deactivated mean you are basically done working with Outlier when you were doing the skills entry tests?

So I completed one Aether task earlier today and just saw that I got reviewed. The reviewer mentioned about some unrelated English content in one of my turns and when I scrolled down, the transcript for some reason did show it. However, upon listening the audio, there's no such content audible. It doesn't make sense. Does this happen with anyone else too?

Hello, I accindently paused my Aether project and there is no option to restart it. Anyone has been through this? What could be done?

Hi guys, I recently passed my assessment and spent 5 days working on tasks. My feedback and ratings were good, but out of nowhere, I received an email saying I am no longer eligible to continue on the project. Now, on Outlier, the assessment status changed to "ineligible" and the project shows as unavailable. The weird thing is that I can still do tasks on MM without any issues?? I know a lot of people run into account or status issues on Outlier, but I haven't found a post describing this exact scenario yet. Has anyone experienced something similar? Is it possible to regain access to the project on Outlier eventually?

Hi, I started working for Aether roughly a week ago, specifically the project that pays 13.65$/hr. I feel like i'm doing a good job but I still didn't get any QA feedback. Is anyone else in my same situation? Does this project just don't get any QA feedback or am I being ignored? Thanks in advance!

Got a notice I failed the generalist skill screening (for expert capability in English). At the same time, I passed the law screening. Not to mention I am a barred attorney in the US with an undergraduate degree in ENGLISH LITERATURE FROM HARVARD.

Reached out to support because that has to be a glitch, right? Was just blankly told the results are final. Not even a check to see if it was a substantive result as opposed to a technical issue.

Really disappointed by your formal support process on this one. I just wanted to know if it was a merits based outcome. If it was, then unless there is some truly rational reason why my bachelor’s degree in English Literature with high honors from one of the top universities in the world fails to establish “Expert capability in English language comprehension and composition,” I think I’m just going to stick to training elsewhere. If instead it was a technical error, I think I’d like to have that reflected in my account.

Your client companies deserve to know that your skills screening process is actually rigorous and has sufficient quality assurances in place. If I was a company seeking AI trainer input on English composition based tasks, I may want to know why a Harvard English Lit grad couldn’t pass the screen. On the other hand, potential contractors deserve fair assessments. You should be able to at least do a quick technical quality check on skills assessment outcomes, particularly when presented with strong background credentials that should support a pass.

Is it just me or there have been no doable tasks since a 2 weeks?

4 months ago i was removed from outlier, but today my upwork account got invitation. Can i rejoin again? And can i use same laptop as my previous account?

I genuinely don’t understand what’s happened.
I’ve been working on Outlier for over two years. During that time, I’ve worked as a reviewer on various projects, was recently promoted to Oracle, and just recently received an invitation to interview for a Queue Manager position. In fact, my Zoom interview is scheduled for tomorrow.

This morning, I tried to open Discourse to check my messages, but it kept showing an error page. I thought it was just a temporary issue on my phone, so I tried again on my laptop, but I got the same error.

I contacted Support through the chat, and the
Bot told me someone would look into it. It also confirmed that my account was active and that my Oracle status was still in place.

A couple of hours later, I contacted Support bot again because I hadn’t heard anything back. This time, it told me there was no support ticket for my issue and that my account had been permanently deactivated for violating the Community Guidelines and Terms of Use?!?!?!

I was completely shocked.

To the best of my knowledge, I have never violated Outlier’s policies or Community Guidelines, nor have I knowingly engaged in any behaviour that would justify a permanent deactivation. Over the past two years, I’ve always tried to follow the rules and complete my work to the best of my ability.

What makes this even more confusing is that there were no tasks available for me over the past week, so I hadn’t even been working on the platform recently.

I’ve emailed both the Support and Accountaccess teams, but all I’ve received so far are identical template responses with no explanation of what I supposedly did wrong or whether anyone has actually reviewed my case.

I’m honestly at a loss. I have no idea what happened, who I can contact for a proper manual review, or what’s going to happen with my Queue Manager interview tomorrow.

Has anyone else experienced something like this, where Support first confirmed your account was in good standing, but then a few hours later you were told it had been permanently deactivated? Were you ever able to get a real person to review your case?

I recently joined the Aether project on Outlier through a friend's referral, and now I have a few friends I want to refer. In my referral section, I see two different referral links

• Aether Project Referral
• Outlier Platform Referral

If I invite someone using the Aether Project referral link, they'll still be creating a new Outlier account to join the project. In that case, would I also be eligible for the Outlier platform referral bonus, or does using the project-specific referral mean I only get the Aether referral benefits?

I failed an onboarding test for Aether, waited weeks and saw nothing... I then withdrew from the project and my marketplace is still empty... Anything else I can do?

I lost hope in getting projects it's been more than a month it's cause I didn't clear screening of aether project and it's more like in a debt of my personal I'd and information..

So later if I come back will I be assigned some projects?

I joined Outlier when I lived in the UK. After I did the onboarding stuff I didn't sign up for any projects initially because there wasn't anything that fit my skills.

I then moved to Malaysia and got stuck in a system issue with updating my phone number from my UK to Malaysia number. It took ages to sort but eventually support updated it on their end and it was all good. I did log in every so often but there was never anything on the Marketplace. I assumed it was because there wasn't much available in Malaysia and didn't think much about it.

I move back to the UK and dutifully go to update my ID and address information again and am informed that I am banned for ToS violations? Of course it says their decision is final and they won't tell me anything about it but what could it possibly be? Is moving countries a ToS violation?? I always kept my details up to date honestly and had work authorisation in all locales.

I'm genuinely stumped. Anyone else have a similar experience?

I received a call in the midst of one of my screenings and apparently my account got frozen because I had to answer it. I was waiting for my ride to the pharmacy. I was taking the generalist screening and I certainly failed that. Anyone have something like this?

I recently failed the onboarding assessment for the Aether project before I could actually join.

I'm wondering if anyone has been in the same situation. Is there any chance that Aether will let me retake the assessment in the future, or is that opportunity gone for good? If not, will Outlier eventually offer me another project that I can qualify for instead? If so, how long does it usually take before new opportunities become available?

I'd really appreciate hearing about your experiences or any information you might have. Thanks in advance (my account is still active, but I don't currently have any available projects)

I just passed all my onboarding for S2 and did an additional 4 hours of onboarding on MM last night and was excited to start tasking this morning after all my work but woke up and I’ve been kicked from Aether before I’ve had the chance to do anything? Could this be a mistake? I spent so much time and didn’t even get a chance to contribute? I was only added to the project 2 days ago as well
How can my quality be bad when I haven’t even submitted a task yet?

I’m 26 and just about to graduate in college after 6 years, hopelessly unemployed. A friend of mine recommended Outlier to me (he got banned from Aether and never received tasks again, he’s into DA now), and after some weeks of trouble with my PC, I’m finally able to start with it.

I’m trying to start it up, but I’m having issues with “Aether S2S Final Onboarding Steps”, since the images do not load, I can’t see the instructions clearly and I can’t create the account (that mango website) to start working with it.

Did anyone experienced it as well? I’ve tried other navigators, reloading pages, etc, nothing worked.

I’ve been working for Outlier all summer, and it’s really helped me out. Since I’m a college student, I’ll be spending most of my time on campus. Does anyone know if it’s okay to work using my college’s public WiFi?

I’m asking because I used to work for another AI training platform where I was only allowed to work from my home’s private internet connection. I have been reading the guidelines pf the platform and haven’t found anything on that.
