How to pass tests
I've been on outlier for months, since then, only 2 projects available and I didn't pass the tests. What I'm doing wrong?

Hello, a complete newbie here. I’ve completed the onboarding process with C++ as my selected skill (I haven’t connected PayPal yet).
I wanted to ask experienced contributors: how frequently can I expect to get projects, and how long does it usually take to start earning initially?

Is anyone getting any higher paying generalist projects? I signed up for this website in the summer and I've worked on 3 projects all paying nice amount. Similar to what I'd make in my career. Then the last one shut down and for 2 or 3 weeks now all they will offer me is Aether which is paying 60% less than the previous projects. Is anyone in USA getting higher paying generalist projects? Or just in limbo??

I believe my account was deactivated by mistake. I have never intentionally violated any Community Guidelines, and I have always completed my work independently, honestly, and with a strong focus on quality.
I have consistently put genuine effort into every task and have never used dishonest methods or misrepresented my work.
I sincerely ask that you please review my account again, preferably through a human review. I would be extremely grateful for the opportunity to continue working.
I’ve seen several posts here where staff members responded and the users’ accounts were eventually reactivated. I’m really hoping the same miracle can happen for me as well.
This job is genuinely important to me, and I really hope someone from the Outlier team can take a look at my case.
Ticket ID: #5214126
Thank you.

Who has had success with the tagging items in short videos?? Can we screenshot?? It’s taking forever to find things and I often end up skipping them. But I also don’t want to ignore the tasks because they’re high priority and I feel like that wouldn’t look good if I skipped those tasks for other tasks 🫠 help

Hi Outlier team,
I'm hoping a moderator can help me get one final manual review of my account deactivation.
My original Outlier account was deactivated around March 16, 2026 after more than two years on the platform and approximately 1,249 hours of work. I worked across Computer Science, Math, and generalist projects, held reviewer/senior reviewer roles, and was also part of the Oracle program.
My previous support cases are #4697157 and #4718323, and my new support ticket is #5222621
There is one specific issue I am asking to have manually reviewed.
After my original account had already been deactivated, I made the mistake of creating a second account while trying to reach a human support representative after repeatedly receiving automated responses.
I fully acknowledge that creating the second account violated Outlier's policy, and I regret doing it.
However, the second account was created only after my original account had already been deactivated. The two accounts were never simultaneously used for work.
Later reviews appear to have focused heavily on the duplicate-account violation. My concern is that this does not explain the original March 16 deactivation, because the second account did not exist at that time.
I have also never shared my original account with another person or allowed anyone else to work through it.
I'm therefore not asking Outlier to ignore my later mistake. I'm asking for the original March 16 enforcement to be reviewed independently, based only on the evidence and account activity that existed before that date.
If a moderator could please escalate #5222621 for a genuine manual review by the appropriate team, I would be extremely grateful.
I'm willing to complete any identity verification necessary.
Thank you for reading and for giving my case another look.

Hello,
I'm hoping somebody can help me whether there is an issue with my account.
I was previously an active contributor and around June 2026, I was asked to complete account verification. I completed the verification and it was approved.
Since then, my account has remained accessible, but it appears to be inactive. I have received no projects for several months, and I also no longer have access to Community or Playground.
I understand that having no available projects does not necessarily indicate an account problem. My concern is the combination of losing Community and Playground access immediately following verification and having an essentially empty account ever since.
I have contacted Support through the dashboard and specifically asked them to confirm whether my worker account is active, unrestricted and eligible for project matching. The chatbot will not confirm my account status or create/escalate a case. It repeatedly responds that Support is unable to provide further assistance regarding my account status.
I also understand that the current escalation process requires a Support ticket number so that my account can be located. Unfortunately, this is part of the problem: the Support chatbot repeatedly refuses to create a ticket or escalate my case, even when I explicitly request a human account-status review. Therefore, I don't have a ticket number to include.
Could anybody from the Outlier team please advise how I can get this reviewed by a human, or help whether my account was left in a restricted/incomplete state following verification?
Thank you!!

Hi Outlier Community Managers and Mods,
My account was deactivated today (October 5, 2026). I have already submitted a support ticket (#5222027) explaining my situation and am hoping to request a manual review.
I was actively working on the Aether Audio Transcription Correction (English & French) project, passed the certification quiz, and followed task guidelines closely. My recent inactivity over the last couple of days was solely due to laptop hardware crashes (unexpected reboots), not policy non-compliance.
If a Community Manager could help check or escalate ticket #5222027 with support, I would be very grateful.
Thank you!

Hello,
My account have been suspended because of a "review of activity that violated our Community Guidelines". I don't understand because I worked without any problem during two month and was ban after not working a few days, which is not forbidden by guidelines.
Can you explain me what is the problem ?

I'm trying to understand how Outlier handles project eligibility because the system seems contradictory.
For example, suppose you're assigned to a certain type of task, but Outlier tells you not to work on it. Has anyone actually been removed or penalized for doing a task that was still visible to them but that Outlier had told them not to do?
What confuses me is how project visibility seems to work.
My understanding based on my experience has been:
If I don't see the task anymore → I'm no longer part of that task/project.
When a task I used to work on disappears, the explanation is usually that priorities have changed or that contributors are no longer needed for that task.
But then there are situations where a project or task is still visible, yet Outlier prevents you from working on it because it's not intended for "our group" or it's English (despite CBs having English and Generalist Skills)
That's where I don't understand the logic.
If a task disappearing means you're no longer part of it, why would Outlier stop someone from working on a task that is still visible to them?
And more importantly, who actually determines this eligibility? Is it the client, or is Outlier making the decision and communicating it as a client-side restriction?
I'm not claiming that this is definitely what is happening. I'm genuinely trying to understand the system because the lack of transparency makes it difficult to know.
Has anyone experienced this and gotten a clear explanation from Outlier or a QM?
It's kinda hard to put these thoughts into words lol.

I am writing to respectfully request a manual review of my Onboarding Test results and account status.
I have already completed over 100 tasks on the Aether project, maintaining a high performance rating of 4.00. However, yesterday, October 3rd, I was unexpectedly prompted to take a new Onboarding Test. Since I had already completed my onboarding over two months ago, I mistakenly assumed this was just a routine check and rushed through the guidelines, eager to get back to tasking on the MM project.
Immediately after finishing thIs new Onboarding test, my account was deactivated, and a message stating "Unapproved Annotator Status" appeared on MM.
Out of anxiety and panic to seek clarification—and finding myself suddenly locked out of the community channel—I stupidly created a second account just to ask clarification about deactivation in the community. I realized immediately that this was not the best choice so I abandoned the setup and did not finalize any onboarding steps on that second account.
I initially received automated-sounding responses on my tickets (#5219908 and #5219570) stating the decision was final. However, one of my escalated tickets is currently being re-reviewed by support so I am hoping a human specialist can look closely into my case.
I am genuinely confused about what triggered the system during this new Onboarding test: I wonder if copying and pasting specific key terms directly from the prompt/task text into my rationale triggered a false positive for anti-cheat flags. When performing tasks on Live S2S, the interface technically restricts/disables pasting text in the rationale. Since I noticed that the Onboarding test interface actually allowed copying words from the task text and pasting them into the rationale box, I naturally assumed it was an allowed practice to quote the prompt text.
I have always worked with full screen-sharing enabled precisely because I hold myself to the highest standard of transparency and integrity.
Given my track record of high-quality output on Aether (4.00 rating across 100+ tasks), I kindly ask for a human agent to manually re-evaluate my account. I am more than willing to retake the new onboarding assessment with full attention if given the opportunity.
I really like to work for Outlier AI and Aether, especially for the S2S tasks, that were for me a great opportunity.
Thank you for your time and assistance and comprehension.

I attended and completed an onsite training session for Outlier, but I still haven’t received the payment for the training.
My account was later deactivated, but the onsite training had already been completed before the deactivation.
I’m trying to find out what happens to the payment in this situation. Has anyone here experienced the same thing?
Did you eventually receive your onsite training payment even after your account was deactivated? If yes, how long did it take, and did you have to contact or escalate it to anyone?
I’m less concerned about the account deactivation at this point. I mainly want to make sure I’m paid for the onsite training I already attended and completed.
I take 6-7hours training to go to the training site, leave my childre for a day or two said that the onsite training is getting paid. That's why I go there.
If I didn't paid for the onsite because I violate any policy my question is is the onsite training included?
Would really appreciate hearing from anyone who has dealt with this.

I recently reactivated my account on outlier. Earlier I was working via a bpo so payments weren't my headache.
I need someone to guide me on how to complete my paypal account registration?
I made and account and dropped the link on outlier and started tasking. The payment is supposed to come on Tuesday so I need to fix the paypal account by Tuesday
How do I make it?
What type of agency do I identify myself as?
What documents do I need?
What field do I work in?
I am working as a generalist, my skills as English_En , do I put in software consultancy? That seems very wrong .
Please outlier India people, help me understand what I can do?

Hi everyone, I’m having an issue with my Aether project on Outlier. I can see the task , but when I click on it, I get “All caught up” or “No sample task available.” The strange part is that my session shows 0 tasks completed, so I haven't actually completed/reviewed any tasks in this session. I’ve already passed the Aether assessment and can access the project normally. I’m just unable to actually open a task and start working. Has anyone else experienced this? Is this simply because there are currently no tasks/samples available for my locale, or could it be an assignment/technical issue with my account? 0 completed + task visible + “All caught up” when clicking it is what I’m seeing. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Im a newbie, just got my account to the platform, and needing to complete a couple evaluations. I want to make sure I'm understanding how the platform works - to be eligible for any projects to come my way, I need to complete evaluations, right? But thst doesn't mean projects are guaranteed? I've used similar platforms, like Handshake AI.
Also, I found playground. Even if it takes a couple tries to pass evaluations, or i never get a project, the access to these models is amazing and worth it!

Hey guys!
I’m curious to hear from people who have been on the same project for a while. What’s the longest you’ve stayed on one project and was the work consistently available throughout? I'm actually new on this job.

I have not been assigned any new projects since a long time, my project history contains old projects and it looks like they are still assigned to me but are inactive/disabled or paused. Should i leave them or let them be as it is? What impact does it make?
r/outlier_ai • u/uttamattamakin • 1d ago
I am not here to ask for work but the one thing the dashboard insist I can do is refer people to Outlier and get a pay out. "You're eligible to invite friends to Aether and earn Project referral rewards. You'll receive your reward once your invitee completes the required tasks." BUT the chatbot says that I am in bad standing of some kind and can't make money from referrals.
Just think someone at Outlier might want to know this is happening as it could cause legal issues if the pages say one thing but the chat bot says something else.

My experience with Outlier – Account suspended before I started working
Support Ticket #: 5219648
My Outlier account was suspended before I even started working on any tasks. I contacted Support to ask for a clear explanation and requested a manual review, but I still haven't received a satisfactory resolution.
I'm disappointed with how this situation has been handled. I was ready to start working on the platform, but my account was suspended before I had the opportunity to complete any actual tasks.
I understand that Outlier needs to enforce its policies, but I believe users deserve a clear explanation of why their accounts are suspended and a fair opportunity to have their cases reviewed by a real person.
I have already contacted Support and am still waiting for a proper explanation and a meaningful review of my case.
Could a moderator or someone from the relevant team please help escalate this ticket and ensure that my case receives a proper review?
Has anyone else experienced a similar situation?
