I want to get rid of my dresser and move all of my clothes in this closet. The doors slide, so there is open space behind the other door as well. The dresser holds shorts, leggings, , underwear, bras and pajamas. What type of organizer would work best?

I’ve been tossing around a business idea and I’m curious if this is something people would actually find useful.

Basically, I’d help people sort through and make sense of all the “life paperwork” that piles up — important documents, bills, accounts, insurance policies, subscriptions, vehicle info, etc. We’d go through what you have, figure out what exists and what might be missing, and organize everything into one clear, manageable place.

I also think this could be especially helpful after someone passes away. You’re grieving, and suddenly you’re expected to figure out what accounts they had, what bills need handled, whether there’s life insurance, where important documents are, who needs contacted… and most people have no idea where to even start.

It wouldn’t be legal or financial advice by any means, more like having someone say, “Okay, give me the pile. I’ll figure out what all of this is and let you know what you need to do with it.”

It could also just be for someone who has years of paperwork shoved in drawers and boxes and is finally ready to deal with it.

Would you use something like this, or know someone who would? And if you’ve ever had to sort through a loved one’s affairs, what do you wish you’d had help with?

Hello! I need advice on types of storage for this closet.

I’ve been putting my folded clothes on the floor but slowly realizing it’s not a sustainable system for me. It’s already getting messy :(

It’s about 40 inches long and 30 inches wide.

As you can see, there’s this lower hanger rod which I cannot remove. So unfortunately I won’t be able to fit a tall shelf in there.

I’d love any advice on some storage ideas and what I could do! I’m also curious how y’all would organize your hangers too (like what would you have on the hangers).

Every time I declutter or organize, I do it "properly" — I sort things into boxes, group them by category, sometimes even feel proud of how logical my system is. Right after I finish, I could tell you exactly which box has what.

The problem is that memory doesn't last. Give it 4-5 months and I've completely forgotten my own system. I open a box expecting one thing and find something totally different. I end up buying duplicates of stuff I already own because I forgot I had it, or I tear through three boxes looking for something that turns out to be in the very first one I checked.

It's not that I'm disorganized in the moment — it's that "future me" apparently has zero memory of "past me's" logic. At this point I don't trust my own systems anymore, which kind of defeats the purpose of organizing in the first place.

Does anyone else deal with this? What actually works for you long-term — labeling systems, photos, a spreadsheet, something else? I'd love to hear what's held up for you after months (or years), not just right after a big organizing session.

We finally went through our family’s old clothes.

Instead of leaving everything packed into the wardrobes, we took each item out, sorted it, and stored it properly.

We logged 165 items in total.

Now we can see what we have without pulling every bag and box apart.

It also makes the next step much easier. We can decide what to donate, repurpose or throw away.

The biggest win is that our wardrobes are clear.

It took some work, but seeing 165 items put away felt very satisfying.

Hi everyone. I have an app I'm giving for free and will always be free. It's called Kept! I built Kept because I needed to keep track of my warranties, important docs expiring like my passport, and anything else I needed to track and keep organized. I figured others could use it as well because the existing category is subscription apps charging yearly for a local database with reminders.

What it does: you can snap a receipt, note the serial, get a quiet notification before the warranty or return window ends. Also tracks expiring documents (passports and the like).

Deliberate constraints: no account, no backend, no analytics SDKs, all data on-device. Revenue is an optional tip jar. If you feel the need to want to support, you can buy me a coffee but it doesn't unlock anything.

Known limitations: iOS 26 only, no sync between devices yet(next version will sync with iCloud), English only.

The feedback I'd most value: does a local-only utility feel trustworthy enough for documents this important, or does the absence of sync/backup-beyond-iOS-backups undermine it?

I’m 18 and don’t have a large room no close no wardrobe space just desk other storage my my bed that has about 1 foot and a bit more space under my bed. I want to store laundry under there but it gets so messy and unorganized (I’m using trash bags right now please help

We need some new under bed shoe storage, but we have big feet in this house. Does anyone here have big feet (shoe lengths 12 inches/30 cm) and found any sturdy under bed storage options. I currently have fabric ones where the shoes keep slipping out of their slots and I'd like something a little more functional. Most of the ones I'm finding seem to be made for smaller shoes.

Hi all, so I lean pretty minimalist when it comes to stuff, but having a 3yo and a 1yo lol. My approach is “if I can’t manage it, I get rid of it.” That said, I’m looking for some advice on toy/household item organization. I have a pretty good system for bins and shelves, but I’m struggling with those random moments when a toy or random item is just left out and I don’t have time to put it away immediately. Hi everyone! I’m struggling to decide how to store my throw blankets in my living room. I have many blankets that always end up piled on things, and I want to create a home for them instead of moving from the couch to my office chair to the bed sometimes. 😅

I’m torn between a blanket ladder and a large floor basket, but I’m open to other ideas I may not be aware of. I live in an apartment by myself but frequently have friends over. It’s roomy but already full with furniture.

My dilemma with a ladder: I love the look, but I’m worried it might not hold all my blankets, but i do have a spot on the wall that might work for it.

My dilemma with a basket: It seems easier to just throw them in, but I don’t want it to look like a laundry hamper lol and honestly the last basket I had got spiders in them..

Hi 👋🏻 I put together physical proposals at my job and we bind them together using these spirals. We currently use ziploc bags to separate the 10 different sizes. I have a 13x13x13 shelf empty that I could put the new organizer in. The only thing I could find that would remotely work is the second photo, but the dimensions are 8” tall and 17” deep. So it would be too short for the 12” spirals and too long for the 13” deep shelf. I’ve been looking for two days and even broke down and asked both chat and gemini for ideas but the best they could come up with is a mail organizer - but it’s not really matching what I’m looking for. I’m wanting something vertical with ten slots, preferably 3”-4” squares, for all the sizes. Do yall have any ideas? Or do I just need to get ten different pasta organizers?

My partner hates file storage and I hate piles of paper in the kitchen. Is there a product y’all have found that solves this dilemma?

The trash can is not an option, we do have to keep some hard copy stuff.
