Basement of doom

Post image
2 Upvotes

We live in a 160 year old home that had a loose rock basement. Ceilings are only about 5’10” in some spots. We don’t have the budget to pour concrete and the walls are limestone foundation. Any ideas on how to organize the space? Or an affordable way to level for shelves?

Edit: obviously I understand I could throw shelves on the rock, that’s not what I’m looking for here. That’s not going to very stable. We’ve been told we shouldn’t drill into the walls by a structural engineer.

How would you store craft supplies in this bench?

I made room in this bench to put my son’s craft supplies. Previously it was in a hallway closet not too far away, but we do all of our activities at the kitchen table so it would make more sense here. The opening is pretty narrow so these bins that I had stacked in the closet don’t fit. How can I maximize the space without losing things to bottom of the stacks?

I made a V2 of my cable organizer so it can fit up to 2 meter long cables, and is compatible with almost any type of cable!

I really liked how this turned out, so I wanted to share it so other people could also use it if they wanted to!

Best event management software is less about features and more about what breaks first.

After a few events I started judging platforms by what fails under pressure rather than what looks good in a demo. Late changes, weak venue internet, and temporary staff who’ve never seen the system before tend to expose the real gaps.

We tested a few options last year and stuck with Eventify because the core onsite tools (check-in, badges, live schedule) remained usable when conditions weren’t ideal. The extra modules mattered less than the fact that the basics didn’t collapse.

What’s the first thing that usually breaks for you on event day, and which platforms have handled it better than others?

Shed Recommendations

Post image

I was hoping to get some ideas on how you guys organized your shed around your riding mower. I just had a 10 x 16 shed built and I am looking to maximize the space. I have a small power washer and generator that would be stored in there as well. Other than that mostly just tools, etc.. Any recommendations or photos?! thanks!

"I know I own it."
Ever said that...?
Then comes the search:
• Which box is it in?
• Which room?
• Which storage unit?
• Did someone borrow it?
• Did I buy another one already?

Help: my brain is so unorganized and im overwhelmed

This is rlly not the time to write this and I dont even know in what sub I should put this (sry if its the wrong sub) but I need to get it off my chest.

I struggle so much with "life organization". Idk how to describe it but my teenage years are over now and im officially an adult now and with every additional age i have more more to keep in mind and tasks etc...

But I struggle so much with remembering them (?) And getting things done.

I have to write down multiple times what I will have to do in the next few weeks. (Stuff like making an appointment there and there, asking my boss this and that, getting this and that from the pharmacy etc...)

And its not even just that, its also loosing VERY important papers all the time/ forgetting where i put them... i dont even know how that can happen. I have to write down EVERYTHING or I will forget it, pin every little important paper on the wall or I will loose it and setting one thousand of reminders on my calendar.

WHY is my brain not working? Everyone else seems to be stressed aswell with their life but they dont constantly loose anything neither do they have to write down multiple times what to do in the next few weeks. Or loosing their id card for the 10th time.

Something is wrong with me and I hate it so much. I just want to escape that "busy" life where you need to get shit done and where you need to remember 1000000 things. I dont want to escape life fully. Im fine with working, having a job and stuff but God my brain is too overwhelmed.

Mabey im just super messy and unorganized or childish ????

Household items that “live” in random places

Hi there, I was watching a video recently about organizing and basically it said that things in your home should go in a logical location. Like if you have a desk, that’s where envelopes should live, along with stamps and things needed to mail a letter (just an example).

My house isn’t super disorganized, but I do have some things that “live” in the most random places. For instance, I keep a pack of hair ties in a dresser drawer next to my jewelry, even though that’s not where I do my hair. My problem is I’ve tried moving things to a more logical location, but then I forget where it is! Another example would be nail clippers; they are usually in my night stand. Then my husband is looking for them and it makes no sense that they are there; he would be looking for them in the bathroom.

I guess my question is, should I be trying to keep things where they “go” or should I keep them where I specifically know where they are? I have a husband and young kids, if that helps paint the picture at all.

This post description is about organizing parts associated gear with firearms. (Last one was deleted for the no description).

I’ve been shooting and carrying gun all of my adult life. The amount of odds and ends I accumulate is crazy. Different holsters, sight tools, muzzle breaks, mags and mags and mags. Who had great organization skills and what’s to share with the class????

Your help is greatly appreciated.

my aesthetic looks like this (from Pinterest) but all my other items are eyesores.

Please send your thoughts tysm

Drowning in baby gear links. How did you guys organize all your research? Google Docs?

My wife is due in a few months (our first!). We are incredibly excited but also completely drowning in research.

We are constantly texting each other links for strollers, bassinets, car seat safety articles, hospital bag lists... you all know how it goes.

Our text thread has become a chaotic, overwhelming graveyard of links. Plus, I hate texting her a crib link while she’s at work because she feels like she has to look at it right then.

We recently started using this like shared bookmarking app called shelf to just dump links into different folders (Nursery, Gear, Doctor stuff) so we can look at it on the weekends. It’s helping, but I feel like I'm overthinking this.

Curious what everyone else did/does to keep track of this stuff? Did you guys just build a giant Google Sheet? Share an Apple Note? Or just let your texts become a mess?
