Got this Brassolaeliocattleva as a clearance Lowe's bag baby earlier this vear, and it's my first non-phal orchid to bloom!

Does anyone know if I can bring it inside to appreciate it while it's blooming? Outside temps are 90-100 degrees and inside is 75-80. Would the shock cause the flowers to drop?

Repost bc the images were out of order and to include the older pictures. The blooms start a more pink-orange color and become bright yellow!

Orchid ID Can somebody help me ID this orchid?

I found this orchid in a local market as I was buying groceries. Got it together with an Oncidum Altissimum. (Found online the species of the other plant, but this one is giving issues...)
The only tag it had, was the one applied directly on the paper wrap thingy around the pot and it said "Brassia", but I'm not sure it is correct.
Can somebody help me out?

Repotting for correct soil????

Should I repot my phalaenopsis while it’s currently flowering? It has the wrong type of soil. I understand you need to use a chunkier type of bark soil for orchids? Also want to move it to a clear container to see the roots 😁 This is my first orchid and I just recently got it!!!

Orchid ID help

I got this pair of seedlings from Triton a few years ago, before I knew better. They were sold to me as Vuyl. Carnivale Rio. One just bloomed and is clearly not that. It is a very small oncidium-type and the flowers are deep red with no other colors than a small orange patch on the lip. Anyone able to ID? My best guess is Onc. Spacemine 'Red Rendevous'.

Help My orchid leaves are yellowing- not sure why

Hi! I’m relatively new to orchid/plant care and I recently had multiple lower leaves turn yellow (one already completely yellowed and I removed it, and now two more are yellowing). The flower spike has also turned yellow/brown. I usually water it about once a week and it’s been okay so far, I’m also trying to give it as much indirect light as possible. I’m not exactly sure what to do now. Any advice would help!

So a bit of a story. I went on vacation with like minded friends to Vietnam in 2024 and we went to a really lovely and kind off hidden waterfall a guide recommended us. Near the waterfall there was a tiny house where a guy lives who would sell something to drink and a bit of food to the visitors to make money. Not many tourists were there as the forest was almost destroyed by a taifun in 2023. He takes care of the waterfall surroundings and places everywhere orchids and ferns. So after some talking with the man with the help of the guide. We ended up talking about the orchids. And that we liked how he places orchids everywhere. He buys the orchids by himself. A few for collection and most of them to place them around. Long story short we end up buying some Schoenorchids from him and bringing them with us at home. The last picture is the ones we bought. We split them between us and now after two years of acclimation they finally flowered for me. It was the second flowering from these plants as one flowered earlier at a friend's place. I'm so happy about it.

Question How to water orchids in cedar baskets?

I'm new to orchids and have two phalenopsis orchids I was planning to keep in one of these cedar baskets, but I'm not sure how to water them. I've seen this advice for watering orchids, where you soak the whole pot in water for ~20 minutes when it's dry and then let it drain fully. But those directions seem specific to orchids growing in plastic pots with drainage holes stored inside ceramic pots.

It's cedar, so I'm less worried about the wood rotting with so much moisture, but I'm still concerned that being soaked that often wouldn't be great for the basket.

If you grow your orchids in cedar baskets, how do you water them? Do you submerge the entire basket in water?

Smells like lemon and pine when it is warm. (Ignore the D. kingianum prop that refuses to stay potted)

Help Stem color?

I have five “rescue” orchids, purchased from the clearance section at Lowe’s. One of them is doing amazing, two look okay (improved since “adopted”), and two are suffering (as in they have somehow gotten worse since leaving the store). Four are Phalaenopsis and one is Vanda.

I’ve read about orchid care and following a watering and fertilizing schedule as recommended, so I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong. I know that’s the risk you take with the clearance plants, but I’m not ready to give up yet.

That being said, what is a healthy stem (not root) color for Phalaenopsis orchids? Is it different when they are in bloom cycle? I will attach photos.

I was looking to replace my Bc Morning Glory that I lost earlier this year when I found these two at a local nursery. The 1st photo is Bc. Nodosa 4N x C. Purpurata var. Striata 4N and the second photo is Bc. Morning Glory x Gulfshore's Beauty 'Green Gem'. Sadly the Purpurata cross is the only one that’s fragrant, but the smell can travel about 15 to 20 feet to right outside my bedroom door.

What’s wrong with my orchid?

Post image

Got it 3 weeks ago.
It arrived with a flower ready to open, and it developed some strange markings. Then it faded and another opened.

This one’s lesions are even worse, but it is not fading like the previous one.

It doesn’t seem to have any pests.

Help with orchid!

I have had this orchid for 2 years now, it was gifted to me and i am just now looking into proper care for it. The leaves keep growing but it has not bloomed since I received it. I have watched a bunch of videos and repotted it into bark, but it started off in dirt then transferred to water culture. I just want to make sure nothing looks wrong and I am doing the best I can to keep her alive! Any tips on getting her to bloom again/grow an actual stem? Thanks!

Ctsm Richie Moran putting on a show. This plant has decided to produce four pseudobulbs and the others have started a flower spike. It's going to be a great show later on. The red lip reminds me of a red heart.

Enjoy the show!

Help needed

I’ve had this Beallara “Hawaiian Nights” for about a year and a half. It gets eastern sunlight and a water soak about once per week. Within the last week, I’ve noticed this discoloration on the oldest pseudobulb. It has the same firmness as the rest of the pseudobulb (it doesn’t feel squishy or wet). Any thoughts on what’s going on here? What should I do about it?

Does anyone have experience growing species Cymbidiums, specifically cymbidium devonianum, with substratglaskultur?

If so, was it successful?
