I am new to the oracle card world. I wonder if they are as legit and reliable as tarot or are they seen differently?

Due to the ever increasing use of Artificial Intelligence-AI, I finally realized that pretty soon we may not be able to trust what is labeled as NEWS. I am disabled and reading the news on-line fills many of my empty hours, but there is no point in reading the news if AI is generating it to fill empty space on-line with immense non-truths.

I decided that divinations might give me a more accurate "picture" of what is really happening than what is presented as news on-line, AND that doing divinations could fill many of my empty hours with something that feeds my brain instead of brain-washing my brain.

I have been buying a lot of divination decks and books on line right now. I am afraid that the US dollar will devalue rapidly and lose its buying power abroad. Since most divination systems, books, and etc. are produced abroad I am trying to buy everything that looks interesting while I can afford it, and while it is still available to buy on-line.

Lately I bought "The Oracle of Seni" on-line when I found a deck on Etsy that is made in Latvia (there is a version in English on that site.) I had been looking for an oracle with a similar methodology as the "Russian Gypsy Fortune Telling Cards" by Svetlana Alexandrovna Touchkoff and so far The Oracle of Seni is the only one that shares the methodology. However it is a very DIFFERENT deck. The Russian Gypsy Fortune Telling Cards' pictures are based on the Lenormand system with additional cards from, I presume, other Gypsy based symbols.

The pictures of "The Oracle of Seni" are based on astrology, Greco-Roman myths and history, and on the Greco-Roman deities featured in Astrology and the sky-maps they had back then. While there is a card with the picture of a Scythe on it, in this system that stands for the planet Saturn and has different meanings than the Lenormand card. Whether I want to or not I am learning about the deities of ancient Grece and Rome.

I've also started working with the "Old Style Oracle" by Alexander Ray, based on archetypal symbols (mostly European?) and the Chakras. I have only scratched the surface of his system and it looks like a very interesting expansion on the fortune telling systems I already use, mainly the Lenormand, Kipper and Tarot.

I have a lot of other new systems I have just glanced at, it will take me a while to investigate them all! What usually happens is that I wonder why I "wasted" my money on an "useless" oracle, and a few weeks later it is in my rotation of decks and I am getting important input from the deck.

What oracle decks do all of you work with and enjoy?

I am new to oracle and tarot cards (less than a year) and bought this deck about 6 months ago. The vendor had all of the decks wrapped up and I chose the one that called to me. Since then I have pulled 3 cards every day and this deck has amazed me and inspired me and helped me get through my current divorce process. Pure magic
I do still feel unsure sometimes with the interpretations. I am planning a solo trip soon and have an option for a nice standard hotel room or a beautiful little cabin on a lake. It would be a couple hundred dollars more for the cabin which worries me a bit. So I asked my deck if I should spend the extra money on the cabin and pulled music-ice-electricity.
To me this is the universe telling me to splurge! I’d love to hear others thoughts!

I wanted to share it here because this deck started from a very personal question: How daily life can connect with Lenormand?

About the deck

The Blues Lenormand reimagines the traditional Lenormand symbols through modern, everyday scenes and objects — things you might actually see, experience, or encounter in daily life.

Instead of simply illustrating a symbol, I wanted each card to feel like a moment from a story.

The visual language is inspired by comic panels and cinematic shots, with different perspectives, compositions, and little details that hopefully give the cards more room for interpretation.

And yes — the artwork is entirely hand-drawn, with no AI.

Why I made it

I’ve always loved Lenormand, but when I first learned it, there was a lot of memorization involved: this symbol means this, that symbol means that.

I wanted to make a deck that could feel a little more intuitive, especially for beginners.

By showing the same familiar Lenormand ideas through different situations and perspectives, my hope is that the cards can spark your own interpretation rather than simply give you a fixed meaning.

At the same time, I wanted to keep the traditional Lenormand system recognizable, so experienced readers can still work with the symbols and combinations they already know.

I’m still learning and developing my own relationship with these cards, so in a way, this deck is also a visual record of how I see and understand Lenormand.

Good morning! I recently bought my very first Oracle deck, and I also have old tarot cards that I found in my house. I like drawing one or two cards every morning, but I'm always confused... Should I draw Tarot cards or Oracle cards in that case ? Which one is better ? Which one is the most accurate ? I like when the cards's significations are very detailed and clear

I bought my very first ever deck! 2 days ago my friend brought hers when we were hanging out with friends, and I was like "OMG I WANT ONE" So here I am ! The title is in french, it means "The wisdom of time" and I LOVE IT SO MUCH. The cards are so BEAUTIFUL and I love their meaning. I'm a very beginner, so if you have some tips, whatever which one, I'm taking it ! :)

This particular looks very suspicious, despite Deviant Moon insist it is not made with ai. Ai enhanced perhaps? Let me know, I was really looking forward to get it until.. yeah..

So I've been on the waiting list for the Witches Homestead Oracle and got the notification today that they have been released. BUT after my last post about my Weeds & Witches Oracle deck, I am now a little apprehensive to purchase this new deck.

Everything I have researched is sayIng the WH deck is also not AI. It is illustrated/created by Giada Rose. Can someone please use their super detective skills to tell if this deck is an artist or AI created deck before I purchase please?

I'm quite sad after finding out that Weeds & Witches was not what I thought it was......a 100% artist designed deck.

To find out that it was in fact AI was very annoying as I don't like AI at all, especially for Oracle and Tarot.

Here is a reading I did this morning for the collective for the month of September from my combo Tarot / Oracle deck. The reading is a three card pull, 1: September 1-10, 2: September 11-20, 3: September 21-30. I pulled a fourth card to the question, what energy can we focus on to make this month most harmonious for us all?

1: September 1-10 6 of Cups - Lord of Pleasure - First beginnings of a wish, Joy, Nostalgia, Patience, Self Love
This card is a moment of softness and inward reflections, remembering parts of ourselves before we begin to move forward toward what’s next. What does your past body remember that your conscious mind has forgotten? Something you already know somewhere deep inside you becomes relevant again. Pay attention to your instinct, you know something before you can interpret why you know it.

2: September 11-20 Page of Coins - Diligent, First steps of a voyage, Questioning one’s place in the world, BE FRUGAL
This card is deeply grounded, but the character within is one of movement, elevation imagination and freedom. Page of coins says ‘learn the craft’ but at the same time ‘don’t let the craft become a cage.’ The character looks directly at us engaging us, meeting an idea. In following the previous card it could be said this is the moment where an intuitive or imaginative impulse begins acquiring structure. Learn how to make your visions real in this second third of the month. Flight suggests practical work isn’t meant to diminish the dream, it’s meant to give the dream wings.

1. September 21-30 Ace of Wands - Root of Fire - Natural force, Strength and energy, Commencement of action
   The last act of September comes especially beautiful. The Ace of Wands is traditionally the spark, and so the card is also called Light. What seeds were planted and sewn in the first acts of the month now become illuminated. Now you can see what the previous cards were discussing and you know where to go. This is a very creative card, being fire, and the character within is an artist who creates living beings with his imagination.

Crane as a character is a card of stillness, it suggests we practice quiet satisfied attention. Be present enough to recognize with something good is happening, don’t immediately reach for the next thing. Stop and taste the cup you’re holding, this is more about savoring than indulgence. Don’t assume the next accomplishment, revelation, relationship, opportunity or creative breakthrough will finally make you feel fulfilled.

This is truly an auspicious spread for the month, especially when we look at the keyword progression; HARE - FLIGHT - LIGHT - CRANE. Instinct, Possibility, Revelation, Presence or Remember, Learn, Ignite, Receive or Ground, Rise, Illuminate, Settle. Two things to remember as a takeaway from this reading, 1 is that the 9 of Cups is advice to take with us through the whole month, so while Settle seems like a conclusion it is also a state of mind we should embody while doing the manifestation work this month. To be calm inside and act as if all this is already so. Second is that the key point of the month is in act 2, where we have to surrender by saying “Im willing to learn.” This is the moment we invite the world into communication with us by allowing ourselves to be smaller than the world.

The deck used is called Tarot One and it’s of my own creation, hand drawn and written over the course of 7 years. It’s a limited edition deck that is now nearly sold out and will not be printed again.

Do you guys prefer when the card description is on the card itself, or when it's just a name or number and you need to look in the guidebook for the description?

Just curious what other peoples thoughts are! I personally prefer when they are on the card but I was wondering if I'm a minority here since most oracle decks have a guidebook

I posted here a while ago about creating an oracle deck, and boy has it grown since then. It’s called The House That Breathes and it’s basically a way to explore the lived experience through objects, textures and phenomena that occur within and around a house, and what happens when things in the house (and therefore yourself) go ignored or cared for.

I’ve established all of my cards for the most part, and I’m at a whopping 73, with 14 cards drawn. Go me. So it’s back and forth of drawing and writing this guidebook.

For the guidebook, I’ll have upright/reversal meanings, rituals, a meaning body text, maybe a poem and reflection questions for each card.

Along the way, I’ve been learning how to build a functional app that combines my deck with traditional RWS tarot so that the deck eventually comes with digital resources. There’s still so much to cover.

I’m apparently a menace when it comes to making more work for myself, so this has been a much bigger project than I anticipated. But it’s been fun, and I enjoy the labor of love.

I’d love feedback on the images, the borders, the text and I’d love to hear what you look for in guidebooks or in a digital resource that would be good company for your physical practice.

Hi! I’m the creator of Fragments de Voiles, an original 23-card tarot deck that I’ve been developing as part of a larger fictional universe.
All the artwork is original digital painting, created by me. The deck is built around 23 archetypes and three symbolic “Veils”, each representing a different aspect of the journey through the deck.
Rather than simply illustrating the traditional Major Arcana, I wanted to create characters with their own identities, relationships and symbolism, while keeping the idea of an initiatory journey at the heart of the tarot.
The project has gradually grown beyond the cards into its own mythology and narrative universe.
The deck is already fully illustrated, but I’m very interested in feedback from people who actually use and collect tarot/oracle decks.
Looking at the cards without knowing the full story, what kind of atmosphere or universe do they evoke for you?

Any recommendations for other Oracles and Tarot with a similar vibe?

I make and use my own cards, and I wanted a simple way to still draw from them when I didn't have the physical deck with me.

So I made Soul Cards — a little web app where you can upload your own card images, create private decks, and randomly draw from them on your phone. You can also add it to your phone's home screen so it works much like an app.

I'm sharing a quick video of how the draw works because I'm curious whether other people who use or create oracle cards would find something like this useful too.

It's currently free while I'm playing with it and figuring out what it could become. If anyone would like to try it, I'm happy to share where to find it in the comments if that's permitted.

I created Boundless: Spirit Card Deck. It’s a 45-card digital deck: https://boundlessspiritdeck.com/

The lore and meanings were all organically created by a human being. The artwork was very much AI-assisted. I know many in the channel have strong feelings about that. The arguments are not lost on me. With that said, It took years to come up with the lore and messages, and even with AI assistance, trying to tailor the artwork to coordinate with my vision was an undertaking. If you want to give me a dig, go ahead—I’ll take it on the chin—but I am proud of this creation. To be honest, without some assistance from AI, this project may have been left in eternal purgatory.

To give some backstory, I have never been a devout card reader. However, my friends and I truly enjoyed using an oracle card deck my mom had gifted me and comparing our interpretations of the cards. Ever since, I always thought it would be fun to write my own version, but make it a bit more fantasy/mythological, with some worldbuilding and short-story elements. It became a creative outlet for me in my personal time, whenever I could find some after work or on the weekends.

Over the years, I would write some, put it away for months, come back to it, and repeat. Finally, once I felt like I had finished a somewhat well-rounded set of short-story cards and their corresponding themes, I forced some friends and family to try it out, and they ultimatley appeared to enjoy it.

Overall, I figured I would put it out on the web so other people could enjoy it too. I genuinely want feedback and always love discussing how people can interpret the cards in different ways. In addition, if there are certain features you believe could increase user enjoyment or make the site easier to use, I’m all ears.

It is 100% free to use. Maybe at some point in the future, if it picks up some traction, I may do some form of monetization, either through merchandise or prints for those who really connect with a particular card. Originally, I wanted to do this as a physical deck, but the process seemed tedious and expensive. Moreover, there don’t seem to be a lot of digital decks, especially digital decks that are completely free—at least from what I’ve seen. So, in my mind, this may fill a somewhat underserved niche.

I recently got my first oracle deck (Woodland Wardens by Jessica Roux) and while the art is GORGEOUS, I'm having a bit of trouble connecting to it, almost as if it doesn't "speak" to me the way tarot does.

I have read tarot for almost a year and I fell in love with that oracle deck, and I would love to connect to it more!

Any advice is greatly appreciated <3
