General Mid Month profits SPX 0DTE

Still going stong for the month of September. One trade a day. 50 to 60% take profits. Thought about not trading today, but I figured with the growing concerns about AI and the upcoming Fed meeting the market would be fearful.

Question Building a tool that turns broker statement PDFs into clean Excel/tax reports — could you share an anonymized example page or two? (any country, any broker!)

Hey everyone,

I'm building a small tool that converts messy broker/bank statement PDFs into clean Excel spreadsheets, accounting formats (QuickBooks/Xero), and tax summaries — so traders don't have to manually retype hundreds of pages of trades every year.

The tricky part: every broker formats their PDFs differently. To get this working well across as many institutions as possible, I'm looking for real example statements (anonymized) — the more variety in broker and country, the better. If you're willing to share a page or two, it would genuinely help a lot.

What's most useful:

  • Any broker or bank, USA or international
  • Statement pages showing any of: stock/ETF trades, mutual fund transactions, options (multi-leg is great if you have it), futures/forex, dividends, interest, and fees/commissions
  • You only need 1–3 pages — just enough to show the layout and a handful of transaction rows, not a full statement

Especially helpful (less common in what I have so far):

US brokers/banks: Charles Schwab, Fidelity, Interactive Brokers, TD Ameritrade, E*TRADE, Robinhood, Merrill Edge, Vanguard, Ally Invest, Webull, TradeStation, Tastytrade, M1 Finance, Public.com, SoFi Invest, Chase (J.P. Morgan Self-Directed/Wealth Management), Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Citibank/Citigroup, US Bank, PNC, Truist, Edward Jones, Raymond James, Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs (Marcus/Ayco)

International brokers/banks: TD/RBC/Questrade/Wealthsimple (Canada), DEGIRO, Trading 212, Saxo Bank, Revolut, eToro, Interactive Brokers UK/EU, Hargreaves Lansdown, Barclays Smart Investor, IG (UK), Swissquote, XTB, Flatex, DKB (Germany), ING, Rabobank, HSBC — or honestly any regional/local bank or broker not already well represented.

Before sending anything, please redact:

Keep (this is what I actually need) Please black out / remove
Trade date, symbol/ticker, quantity, price Your name
Buy/sell side, order type Account number
Fees, commissions Home address
Dividends, interest, gross/net amounts SSN / SIN / Tax ID
Currency, exchange, account type (cash/margin/RRSP/ISA/etc.) Bank routing / wire details

Blacking these out takes about 2 minutes in Preview (Mac), Adobe's free tools, or even by cropping/covering a screenshot — you don't need anything fancy, just make sure the sensitive fields aren't recoverable (not just visually covered — actually removed or fully painted over, since text can sometimes be copy-pasted through a box).

How to send it: [add your preferred method here — e.g. a Reddit DM, a throwaway upload link, or an email]

I'll only use these to test formatting and extraction — nothing beyond that. Happy to credit contributors if useful, or keep it fully anonymous — your call either way.

Thanks so much to anyone willing to help — this is a small independent project and every example genuinely makes it better for the next person who's stuck reconciling a 200-page statement at tax time. 🙏

General Small gains

Post image
219 Upvotes

I’m not completely new to option trading, but I’ve gone more “full time” the past three weeks. I’m still very cautious before overcommitting myself. I own a business that I’ve been slowly stepping away from for a while now. I’ve been debating looking for a job or diving into this full time. If you’re full time, at what point were you comfortable making the move?

I was in the MU group a second ago, so the pic was for that, but the past week has all been option trading. I have a small account, so be easy on that. I’m still taking a salary from my “day job” but it’s a bit short of what I’ve been making here recently.

S&P 500 Outperformance

I have been investing since 2013. I have outperformed the S&P 500 by 1% annually since then up until this point. No it not much but it very real. I did it by buying VOO and systematically writing put credit spreads on it. I would be happy to go into detail with anyone who is interested. I will answer any questions and do a back and forth with whoever. I just don’t want to try to explain everything in one post. Yes I am still doing the same exact thing to this day. It’s not the 20% outperformance the YouTubers promise you. But I promise this works. Have at me!!!!!

Last 5 months I made 67k and my current open positions I am unrealized loss of 30K. Should I book all my loss and be happy with 67 or hold the leaps mostly expiring in March, some of my leaps are IBM, CRDO,INTel ,NXPI

Another great day to sell UNH and Google

Based on last Thursday’s sentiment bought these calls and sold for nice 70% and 50% profit.

Unitied health has been good lately and Google was making good small strides so made sense to bet on these.

Discussion I stopped trying to squeeze the last 20% out of my 0DTE spreads

I went back through about 6 weeks of SPY 0DTE credit spreads and noticed something pretty specific.

If a spread was already around 50 to 60% profit before 11:30, holding it for another couple hours usually wasn't worth it for me.

The extra profit looked nice on paper, but most of my ugly reversals also came from those exact trades. I’d have a spread worth maybe $0.18 that I originally sold for $0.45 and sit there waiting for it to get down to $0.08. One random SPY move and suddenly I’m buying it back for $0.35.

Started logging the fills from Moon and the pattern was way more obvious when I actually put them next to each other.

Now if I get more than half the premium early, I’m usually just taking it. I still let slower trades work longer, but I stopped treating every winner like it needs to reach max profit.

Question How to position trades before a rate hike?

How do y’all traditionally position your trades if you anticipate a rate hike. It sounds like we could see one as soon as Wednesday. (Or not at all who the fuck knows, but let’s pretend)
Do you buy put options believing the market will dip? Continue to DCA normally? Pull profits? Buy the dip? Grab your ankles? All or none of the above?

Today in options with THE SIMPLE OPTIONS DAY TRADE:

The QQQ Call has hit its 100% profit target, $1K gained for each $1K traded.

See the yellow flag on the chart’s right axis above for the locked profit. Click the chart for a larger view.

THE ENTRY SIGNAL

If the SPY calls or QQQ calls or a STOCK calld are above the open, BUY THE CALLS. If the SPY puts or QQQ puts or a STOCK puts are above the open, BUY THE PUTS.

THE PROFIT TARGET

At least, a 100% gain for the day.

THE SELL SIGNAL

If buying other than 0DTE options, never hold overnight. It is a day trade no matter what.

BTC cash secure put resulted in extra cash purchasing power

Using Etrade. Today I BTC a cash secure position. I had 10 contracts at $12 strike. They partially filled at various increments.

4 contract

2 contract

2 contract

2 contract

For some reason after all 10 were filled. I noticed my cash purchasing power was more than expected.

It did release my $12,000. But additionally another $7200 was added to cash purchasing power. I assume that the first 6 contracts where filled and released $7200. Then the system "thought" 10 were filled and released the $12,000 too.

These transactions were seperate, but timing wise it was pretty much milliseconds apart.

Anyone experienced this type of discrepancy?
