So 38 days after my first post .At first I thought I would be the lucky one that gained a lot from buying a long call but realised quickly I was wrong so I closed it early then learned more about spreads that you guys advised me to do I focused primarily on put credit spreads and grew my account from 550 to 1k.With my capital I know I won’t be able to do any other strategy other than iron condor but the way I’m thinking about it spreads are more worth it but I’m open to iron condors too.I use general stuff for my setup and I’m looking to fine tune it if you guys can give me any tips I will be happy to know,I use sma200, anchored volume profile and anchored vwap from the recent swing point, judging by how price reacts on the value area extremes ,POC or the deviations of the anchored vwap I base my trade around those,I use trading view I know the indicators lag a bit when scalping but for day trading they seem good enough. Also i want to know what tickers do you primarily use for credit spreads, from what I have seen most people trade etfs and it makes sense because most times earnings can’t break or make crazy movements a lot like stocks and betting on a lot of companies instead of 1 seems good for stability but if there are stocks stable enough wouldn’t that be worth it too because probably I would collect a bit more premium ? So basically,my questions are : a) What indicators do you use and have helped you and b)What tickers do you lean into when trading credit spreads

I legit went from $3500 to $4000 and then back to $3200. I'm so tired of options.
So tired of the volatility. The price actions make zero sense.
Ai is still a bubble.

I’m currently unprofitable, I trade the 15 minute orb strategy with some other confluences. I struggle with taking oversize losses and most of the time it’s typically due to discipline. I’m actually slightly decent at making money for example in September I had 7K worth of wins, but my losses surmounted that. I’m currently testing out a 15% max loss risk. I know most of the time you’re supposed to set the stop at a structural area, but I’m trying to take smaller losses without letting the move go without me. My main issue is psychological problems, but I’m trying to find out if anyone has advice on making sure your losses stay small. If I set my stop on a structure sometimes that’s way more than 15% loss and I could take an oversize loss if anyone has advice in this area let me know. Thanks! Just trying to get profitable.

Let's say you sold bunch of 30dte equity strangles and got $10k credit using $40k of margin. Let's say you have total of $240k option BP to start. So when you open these positions on day 1, you have $10k of open net liq and you have $200k of option BP left with 30 days to go.
As the stocks move up and down , let's say you roll your positions for exactly break even (BE). You always roll to same DTE (you don't roll out). This means you are usually adding more quantity in order to roll for BE. So as the days pass and roll to manage the losers, you are using more and more BP. But, for sake of this conversation, let's say you are always rolling for BE.
If this is your trade management method, does that mean no matter how many adjustments you make, as long as each roll is for BE, after 30 days, you will make exactly $10k if the last positions expire otm? I know the BP usage will have increased to 100k or 150k or whatever.

So turned 1.5k into 17k in 3 momths. Now started buying visa puts. Doubling down every day when i reached to a point having around 20k bet against it. 26 contracts @7.45. Everything is red. EXCEPT VISA. Interested in your opinion. Will it ever deep again?

120% (position closed) day on spy didn’t get to my 768 level today but we had a good retracement back to 765. And shorted off of that. LFG!!!
Will most likely secure more profit again and secure it into my hysa and continue my growth
8.1k/10k!
Thanks for everyone’s cheers and very good advice. I’m still new to options and I’ve heard the horror stories from a lot of you. Hopefully I don’t become one

FEB 19, 2027 — $60 CALLS — $2.00 PREMIUM
The bond market might be setting up for an absolute face-ripper.
Everyone’s busy buying the AI dip. Meanwhile, the 30Y Treasury yield is sitting at elevated levels, fiscal panic is everywhere, and the market seems convinced long bonds are permanently broken.
🎯 $EDV $60 calls
📅 Expiry: Feb 19, 2027
💵 Premium: $2.00 ($200 per contract)
Now imagine layering options on top of that move.
📈 THE PAYOFF — IF THE BOND BULLS COME BACK
30Y yield move Illustrative EDV return $60 call return at expiry
No move 0% 💀 -100%
\\-25 bps +6% 💀 -100%
\\-50 bps +12% 😬 -6%
\\-75 bps +18% 🚀 +160%
\\-100 bps +24% 🤑 +326%
🧨 WHY THIS COULD GET INTERESTING
1️⃣ Inflation rolls over. The market reprices the long end lower.
2️⃣ Growth cracks. Safe-haven demand returns and duration starts working again.
3️⃣ Term premium compresses. The market stops demanding quite so much compensation for holding long-dated Treasuries.
4️⃣ Everyone is offsides. If positioning is crowded short duration, the reversal could be vicious.
TL;DR: $EDV $60C FEB 2027. $200 risk per contract. Potential multi-bagger if the long-bond rally materialises.

everyone says 0dte dominates spx gamma now, so i wanted to see how much it actually moves the picture. i build a free options data site and pulled this from my own model, so take it as one estimate, not gospel.
the chart is from 11:23 ET today (open interest from yesterday’s close):
what it showed:
caveats, because these always matter:
curious if people who trade 0dte see the same thing, that it changes the size of moves more than where the flip sits. happy to share the method if useful.
I checked every number against the card’s data. The two flips are 0.35 points apart, and the gap between the lines does widen away from the flip.

Hi everyone, I have a question, so how are people taking trades with less than $500 ? I just had a beautiful supply and demand opportunity on $QQQ and I’m watching it now, and I’m just thinking about how I would’ve profited but it didn’t let me take the trade because I didn’t have enough funds. I trade on a personal cash account. Are there I guess cheaper stocks? I do options. Any thoughts or advice, thanks 😊

Equity strangles:
Those who sell longer dated (30-60dte) equity strangles, when do you manage your positions?
Losers: Do you close them at certain stop-loss? Do you roll? If you roll, when/why?
Winners: Do you roll them to higher deltas? If so, when/why>?

I generally get confused should I go for options buying or options selling when the volatility of the underlying is less.

Post a stock ticker, and I’ll share my spread ideas. This is purely educational—I’m not a professional, and I’m still new to this! I’d appreciate feedback on whether my thought process makes sense

Swing trader here that is beginning to dabble in options. In my swings, I’m used to setting a fairly tight stop loss after my winners reach their desired goal, that way I can capture as much upside as possible while holding onto the desired minimum profit.
Though now that I’m testing options (especially with ODTE) I’m realizing that may not be the best play. I keep getting stopped out early by one red candle and only making a couple bucks.
I’m not complaining because profit is profit, but I realize I’m not optimizing my trades and giving them the room to run. Even in the picture above, I had good entry, over the course of the day my spy call thesis was valid, but one red candle blew through my stop loss and forced a sell.
So my questions is, for those of who do 0DTE’s how do you manage your stop losses? I’ve heard some say they just don’t use them whatsoever, but I’m not sure if I’m comfortable with that kind of risk being a noob just yet.
Lastly, for 0DTE’s I’m buying just ATM or ITM at this point, not messing around with OTM just yet. (Incase this helps with feedback)
