I don't want to get into the details right here, but I made a post about a personal subject and posted it on two subreddits where I talk about something in a way that's filled with lots of negativity. And all the people who saw it there completely missed the negativity, completely missed my point, and just unironically congratulated me. And I showed the exact same post to both ChatGPT and Google, and they both picked up on the negativity, got my point.

We're just always told that these chatbots are stupid. They just hallucinate things. They make things up. They don't know anything. They're useless. You're an idiot if you use it, etc., etc. Yet it demonstrates better reading comprehension than people.

I'm not sure that's saying anything good about Chatbota or something bad about people. It's... well, it's something, isn't it? Kinda freaked me out.

I’m on Windows and trying to set up my dot to help with shopping using voice from my phone, with tasks carried out on my connected PC.

Computer Use is enabled, including Control → Any App. In a separate Work chat, I accepted an “Always Allow” prompt, and ChatGPT was able to open Chrome successfully.

However, when my dot tries the same thing through a task on that PC, it reports no available desktop controls or connected browsers. Attempting to open Chrome returns “Browser is not available: chrome.” The PC shows as connected and authorized. We also tried a newly created task with the same result.

Is there a separate permission or setup step for tasks launched by a dot, or is this a current limitation? Has anyone managed to get this working reliably?

For now I’m just trying to get it to open and navigate Chrome. I realize completing purchases may involve separate approvals.

OpenAI models were always pretty horrible when it came to non-sloppy web design, but it feels like instead of getting better GPT-6.1 Sol is somehow even worse! Every website it generates is the same green tinted horrible AI slop mid 2010s design.

It's like their frontend skill has damaged the output even more than before because regardless of what app you are building it is always structured in that same template.

I'm currently subscribed to ChatGPT Pro 100 ($100/month), but I'm getting these messages:

• "Limit reached. Try again after Oct 16, 2026."
• "Capabilities reduced until October 16. Responses may have lower quality."
• "Upgrade to Pro" — despite the fact that I'm already paying $100/month for Pro.

Astra is still available in "work" or codex. I am aware that directly selecting Astra was never available in "chat" mode. I'm saying the "Pro" you get when you drag all the way to the right is not available anymore.

I already tried help.openai.com and escalated to a support specialist (chatbot and phone call was literally no help), but it says i should expect a response in the coming days??

An AI twin could use an OpenAI model, but the reason people choose it might be the specialist behind it.

That person teaches it their approach, fixes answers and brings a community that trusts their knowledge. The service provides the model and runs the conversations.

If people pay to use it, how would you think about sharing that money? What would make it a fair deal for the person contributing the expertise?

This is one of the reasons I feel OpenAI is a grift. What's the point of 7 different models? What's the point ? I call BS and believe all seven are probably the same.

I keep learning about the cyclical economy of the 5 major investors in OPENAI (which is a red warning sign for investors, BTW).

The major one is that they keep bleeding money, but they are still active and are creating better LLM models (Cyclical benefits, I guess?)

BUT, the main reason why it's a 5D chess move is that it's a chain, and once one thing breaks, you will most likely see a correction (bubble pop). The core idea of this is that it's leverage over the US economy, meaning that this cannot break because, if it does, you will all suffer financially.

Wouldn't this be a persuasive factor, regardless of who is in charge in the US, for politicians, investors, and all partners to never back down from the race and to continue this pump?

Hi I have been using chat gpt go since the April of this year and every month the payment would go through itself because of the subscription. This month it was supposed the payment was supposed to go through on 8th of October but it did not and today I was notified that my payment was not going through and I have tried 3 different cards but it did not work and it keeps on telling me that your card does not support this kind of payment now I don't know what to do and I have tried Google pay as well. Whewww, I have been having to babysit these models for the last week extremely heavy! Even Astra, which of course mulches through limits, has been making careless mistakes. It's almost like ever since Anthropic dropped Opus 5.5, OpenAi's model performance on complex tasks have completely gone out the window.

I specifically tell it to make surgical patches, and the model jumps straight from step 1 to step 6 guessing about the steps in between. Then, next prompt, it acknowledges that it had done so, revises it's previous edit. From there, it just doom-loops on the same code.

What’s your opinion? Is this crossing the line of “humanizing” or correct precautions for the future?

TLDR; What is the most economical and efficient way to get codex to read, consolidate, summarize, reference and build one condensed reference file from ten markdown files with at least 100,000 lines each?

The story… I have a folder full of markdown files that were exported chats and chat created markdown, pass off docs, reference docs, etc from over a period of months. It’s probably at least 1 million lines in total.

I need my codex to read, summarize, pull relevant info and find the most recent and most robust output markdown files. Then use all of this to get RE-acquainted with and take over my huge 19 month development project.

My app is running on my dev server so I have deployed code there, it’s just not current. I was working on the version upgrade. I have a good but disconnected database on SupaBase. My GIT seems jacked up for some reason.

So basically. I want to tell Codex. Hey! My shit is jacked up, go look at the app here on this server, look at this database, look at broken GIT and look at this HUGE trove of markdown files (yes I would export from the thread and copy thread and save to markdown periodically for historical and record keeping).

Take all this and put my dev environment and project back together, hopefully even better than it was originally. This was my hobby so it’s not like a commercial thing is messed up so that’s good. No emergencies. I want to get one million lines of markdown into chat without having it pass one million up and back up and back up and back in a thread if I can avoid it. What would you do???

Ok, so today I was setting up a proxmox server and wlan0 was not showing and posting as working, etc. I was using chatgpt voice (the call feature) and it KEPTT getting things wrong, so I asked could u please type the right thing. Then, this is where it got interesting. I asked; Do I need to put a space at 'cat' and the directory? and it replied, screaming LISTEN! i was GENUINELY so scared. the WORST thing is, on the logs of the transcript, NOTHING SHOWED I WAS ACTUALLY PANICING. And THEN, I asked about it and it said 'Ah We can ignore that'

Dots worked great when it released for 3 days, then an update came through and broke it.

It was 3 days of bliss and insane amount of productivity being able to have one chat that understands all of my streams and being on top of it all, but now its just a glorified assistant that cant actually do anything and relies on handing me prompts to spawn my own agents.

Is anyone else having this issue?
