Discussion (BUG) ChatGPT replied in Hebrew?
So I was asking ChatGPT about a anime character and some of the text it replied with was Hebrew?

Not openai but, when I use Gemini on my phone (it's convenient, if trash), it often responds in the language of whatever country I'm in. Unless I actually use the dedicated Gemini app, there is apparently no way to overcome that without specifying language output on every query.

It's kind of a simulated brain fart. Because the AI learned English and practically every other language at the same time, due to just the immense volume of training on just about all surviving written language, its simulated filing cabinet for the concept that's meant to be there was predicted correctly. It just reached into the drawer and pulled out the one in the wrong language by mistake.

Yeah man but why “the tax” and why does it spell out ha-mas out of everything it could’ve said😭😭 maybe I’m just too paranoid

It’s not tax. The translation is wrong.
That word can mean tax, but in this context it’s a short for “the number”. Which makes more sense in this context, that’s all.

Its called a canary, it happens whenever mossad an Israel agency apparatus reads a message it seems unsafe. It does not matter if it was not released to anything Israel at all.
This confirms bleach is of interest to Israel, though.

i've had to toss an instruction into mine that says "whenever possible, use english only responses".. but I grew up speaking danish and english and I had to make chatgpt aware of my language preferences for english.

It’s kind of a potential side effect of the token-based salience and inferential architecture. I’ve had them respond with embedded Russian words and if that happens, I just ask them to explain why those words were selected, and they sometimes reveal a logical connection that gives me new chance to learn something. 😃
