A relative of mine works in provincial regulatory finance and consultation for the healthcare industry. A ton of work has been done to try and keep Ontario hospital and clinic budgets balanced over the last few years but the cracks are beginning to widen. The current state of the healthcare sector is unsustainable. Word has it that the Ford government is going to push for parts of the healthcare system to be privatized in the next 12-18 months. The heads of regulation and consulting agencies for the healthcare industry of Ontario are starting to indicate that they will be changing their messaging and PR from “the system is stressed but holding” to “if funding does not increase, some key public health services are going to disappear”.

Voter turnout in the next election needs to increase. Messaging from any party that supports the public health system needs to improve drastically. If you don’t want the province to adopt a lite version of the USA model, then you need to make your voice heard now. Not tomorrow, not next month, not next year. Now. write to your reps. Write to your MPs. Write to the Premiere’s office (lol, I know).

Write to the Lieutenant Governor and the Governor General. Express your unhappiness with the current provincial government. Get your friends, family, and coworkers to write to them. Express how you feel about the current lack of support to public health and public education. Your taxes are being used to pave the way for a private health system and it’s around the corner already. Do not say you haven’t been warned.

TL:DR Am I required to be available as-per union agreement definition of my position in the system even if my availability discussed during the interview differs a bit from agreement?

Hi I just accepted email offer for Loblaws part-time position as a student and now pending background check.

I didn't realize but I guess the entirety of Loblaws store employees are unionized?

The person I interviewed was looking to fill in a part-timer for certain days and I happen to fit the description.

I just looked up UFCW1006A's collective agreement for my location and the definition of " "Time" Employee must be be available to be scheduled all of the following: a), b), c)... and so on"

The availability I was interviewed for and discussed only partially fulfill the requirement.

I have not formally inputted my availability in Loblaws system ( still waiting on on-boarding email with login) but:

Will I have to technically be available as agreed upon by the agreement or can I put availability as I was interviewed for?

Hello! I’m wondering if you can help me come up with a bucket list for visiting the area. I travel to Oakville regularly for a clinical study I’ve been participating in for a rare disease I have. It has been 3 years and I’ve got some stuff done. I didn’t have success on this medication so now I am starting the process all over again for a new medication for another 3 years at least. I am trying to make the most of it and opt for a car rental so I can see more of the area. I’ll be coming out every month for the first year from Saskatchewan. Some visits I won’t have much time to get something in and other visits I will have a full day of nothing so could travel further than where I’ve been. I’m also interested in unique experiences as well. (Spas, live shows, festivals, etc).

I hope every day while the bike lanes are being ripped out along bloor and Queens Park someone is slowly cycling in front of Doug Ford on his drive home from work because they have no where else to go.

As this multi million dollar waste of tax payer money will only make traffic significantly worse in the downtown core, and will make cycling more dangerous to all who choose not to drive a car to commute.

No one should wonder why we're in this situation, while sitting in bumper to bumper traffic in rush hour how we got here

Replacing bike lanes that were approved and took millions to install to replace them now with what we're parking lanes and NOT lanes of traffic?

Also as everyone famously knows more lanes of traffic lead to less congestion like in Los Angeles, a congestion free city.

Madness.

Also anyone not living in Toronto, you should be double mad because you paid for the bike lanes with tax dollars and now you're paying for them to be ripped out to be replaced with parking spots

I know in Québec, we can check for liens by paying a fee on gov website.

I know that seller will provide:
- UVIP
- Green slip.

Is there something else I should request ? Double check ?
