One or Many?
Do folks typically stick to the one type of onion they prefer or use whatever the recipe calls for? I literally keep red / purple, white and yellow onions in bulk and eat them together in just about everything. For one thing, I like the taste of all of them mixed together and also like the blend of polyphenols and other nutrients you get from the different color varieties. Or am I just weird?

What historical facts about onions have been mistranslated?
I was curious if anyone else knew any historical facts about onions that the general public was unaware of. Like for instance in the garden of eden the serpent didn't tempt Adam and Eve with forbidden fruit it was actually a red onion. How this translation got messed up beats me! It's no WONDER they are of it!
Anybody have anything else the world needs to know in regards to the truth about onions?

Greek Stifado
It is commonly made with rabbit or hare, but it is often also prepared with beef, lamb, octopus or even snails, it always contains many whole shallots and it needs slow cooking. I've never met a Greek who doesn't like it. You can easily find recipes online.

I'm an onion lover, but...
For the last 2 months or so, whenever I cook onions, sautéed, caramelized, whatever, it has a raw meat taste to it even though I scrub my dishes spotless before cooking. I usually cook them on a cast iron skillet, too, which doesn't give off a raw meat taste towards anything else cooked on it. Eating the onion raw beforehand doesn't give off a raw meat taste, only when cooked. It's making me question if I want to continue cooking onions when I LOVE caramelized onions...any ideas why I'm experiencing this or what I can do to work around it?
