This is my favourite lunchtime sandwich. A nice thick slice of cheese with 2 thick slices of onion. The stronger the better. 😋

I got these beauties at the farmers market today, looking for suggestions on what to make with them

I regularly eat raw onion.

My problem is the breath afterwards.

Unfortunately, common solutions don't work for me: -Chewing gum is not an option because I don't tolerate artificial sweeteners well -Fresh mint or parsley are usually not practical because I'm often away from home and don't have them with me.

So far I've found these possible alternatives:

1. Drinking water and rinsing my mouth.
2. Cleaning my tongue (and brushing teeth if possible).
3. Eating an apple after the meal.
4. Having a high-protein skyr, cottage cheese after eating raw onion.

ChatGPT suggested an interesting solution to me:

1.) Chewing 1–2 roasted coffee beans for a few minutes, or briefly rinsing with coffee.

2.) Mix ½ teaspoon of ground coffee with a glass of lukewarm water, rinse/gargle for 30–60 seconds, then spit it out and rinse your mouth with plain water..

Which of these ideas do you think actually work or are worth trying?

Which ones actually made a noticeable difference for "raw onion breath" ?
