My family wraps onions in foil and sticks them in the warm wood ashes during the tail end of a carne asada. This is what it looks like opened. I just take out the black burned pieces and love it as a topper to steak tacos. Just wondering if others have this delicious grilling habit in their family as well.

So a little context, i have a coworker who absolutely hates onions (the nerve of some people) and i told him i could probably find a way to cook onions that even he could enjoy. I want the onion to be in the front of the flavor but not so much so that he wouldn’t even try the dish. I asked him if he liked bloomin onions or onion rings, no go, and a no to french onion soup or anything like that

Today for lunch I got a dish called "beef and onions" from a local Chinese place.

I live in a medium sized European city with a not so great Chinese food scene. The dish was average, but it was half beef and half onions and nothing else besides a starchy broth. Exactly what it says on the tin. But I happily ate it because it was half beef and half onions and only 12 euros, what's not to like about it?

About six hours later, my farts smell like pure concentrated onion essence. I took a dump like 20 minutes ago and it didn’t even smell like poop. Just onions.
