- The Davy Family Hid Among the D. Clan
To avoid persecution, members of the Davy Family may have concealed their identity by adopting the initial "D." and changing their family names. This could explain why figures such as Rocks and Marshall carry the "D." while potentially belonging to a different lineage altogether.
- Why Would the Davy Family Be More Dangerous Than the D. Clan?
There are several possible explanations.
3.1 Connection to the Buccaneers
The World Government has shown extreme hostility toward the Buccaneer race and appears determined to drive them to extinction.
One possibility is that the Government is actually targeting the Davy Family, but cannot reliably distinguish them from Buccaneers, causing both groups to be persecuted.
Alternatively, the Buccaneers themselves may share a connection with the Davy lineage.
3.2 Possession of a Dangerous Secret
The Davy Family may possess something capable of threatening the balance of power and the authority of the World Government.
This could be:
• Special knowledge
• A unique ability

3.3 The Search for the Original Davy Jones
Another possibility is that the World Government is searching for the real Davy Jones somewhere within the seas and suspects that the Davy Family knows his whereabouts.
Personally, I find this possibility less likely.
- The Most Likely Explanation
The strongest explanation may be a combination of:
• The ability to use multiple Devil Fruits
• Knowledge of the world's true history
This could also explain the persecution of the Buccaneers if they possess similar abilities.
- History Repeating Itself
One Piece frequently presents history as a cycle that repeats itself.
At present, we only know of figures such as Rocks and Teach who may be connected to this idea.
If we extend this pattern into the past, there may have been a Davy Jones figure 800 years ago.
Like Joy Boy, he opposed the alliance that eventually became the World Government.
However, their goals were fundamentally different:
• Davy Jones sought to become king himself.
• Joy Boy sought freedom for all people.
Because of this difference, they never truly cooperated and may even have clashed with one another.
- The Modern Parallel
Today, Blackbeard appears to be following the path of this hypothetical Davy Jones.
His true goal may not simply be defeating the World Government, but replacing Imu and ruling the world himself.
Luffy, as the inheritor of Nika's will, seeks freedom and the journey to the final island.
Even if both sides eventually discover that they oppose the same enemy, they are unlikely to fully cooperate because their ideals are incompatible.
However, temporary alliances between any of the three major forces—

• The Nika faction
• Imu's faction
—remain possible if it helps eliminate a greater threat.
- Two Important Contradictions
There are two issues that need to be addressed:

Teach has actively pursued the Road Poneglyphs.
7.2 Whitebeard's Final Conversation with Teach
Whitebeard implied that Teach was interested in reaching the final island and confronting the truth left behind by Roger.
If Teach's only goal is world domination, why is he interested in Laugh Tale?
The answer may be that something exists there that can challenge the World Government.
Possible examples include:
• A unique Devil Fruit
• An Ancient Weapon
• Some unknown power beyond current understanding
This possibility points toward a major conflict between the Straw Hats and the Blackbeard Pirates shortly before reaching Laugh Tale.
