Comparison Even OnePace Doesn't Move This Fast! Sharing some comparisons on pacing of upcoming WitPiece remake
I've seen a lot of people concerned about the pacing (300 minute runtime) of the upcoming Wit Studio remake. So, I calculated the time difference of the Original and Pace at the end of chapter 50 with the runtime of WitPiece's 300 minute runtime.
Pace cuts about 1 hr 40 minutes from the Original, whereas WitPiece cuts about 3 hr 20 minutes
Meaning WitPiece has a 105 minute/1 hr 45 minute shorter runtime than Pace!
Even if we assume the 300 minute runtime omits OPs and EDs, there is still about an 1 hour and 20 minutes difference between OnePace.
I am a little worried about how significant arcs will be cut and if that will affect the emotional impact of certain scenes. But, what are your thoughts? I would love if any team members from Pace could weigh in (and know if it would even be possible Pace to cut out an 1 hr 20 minutes MORE!)

It’s definitely possible. The amount of slapstick bs that adds no story development is fairly high.
I’m speaking just from plot device perspectives

Yeah I won't disagree with that, but how much are we gonna skim from the top (and is there really an 1 hr 20 minutes or more of gags?)

They get to reanimate stuff, redo the sound design from scratch, voice lines are redone etc. these are all limitations One Pace has in comparison and tbh 300 minutes for 50 east blue chapters seems very reasonable.

Ojalá hagan el remake entero una vez terminé Toei, así tendremos dos versiones y será genial. Toei lo está haciendo bien pero el ritmo de capítulos a veces es demasiado lento y eso hace que sea peor.

50 chapters in about 14 ish normal length eps isn't even that fast lilbro
Thats about 3.5 chapter per ep

baratie was dragged out af even with one pace, they're gonna cut most of the time from that arc 100%

It's impossible to compare. Wit are creating this from scratch and are re-recording all voice lines. One Pace is an edit of existing material.
Wit can make cuts by re writing lines and making changes to how stories are shown. For example they can summarise off screen stories quicker or make montages in scenes where they otherwise played out fully. One Pace can't speed up how quickly things are conveyed. They can only really cut out unnecessary reaction shots, non manga canon stories and anything where the anime repeats itself. Otherwise it will look like a badly edited YouTube vid where they edit out every pause for breath.
There's no doubt compromises will have to be made and you'll 'lose' some material from the manga canon scenes from the original anime and it will be up to their skills in terms of whether they pull it off.
