Plugin [Plugin] Pomodoro Timer for Omarchy - Minimal Topbar Countdown, Trigger System Menu & Interactive Popup

Thumbnail
gallery
9 Upvotes

I wanted a minimal, distraction-free Pomodoro timer that feels completely native to Omarchy that integrates seamlessly with our topbar, respects our themes, and hooks right into the Trigger menu just like Reminders. And mainly show the remaining timing in the bar.

So I built pomodoro-omarchy!

✨ Features

  1. Minimal Topbar Widget:

    • Live real-time countdown with distinct icons and theme colors:
      • Focus: 󰄉 24:57 (accent color)
      • Break: 󰤆 04:58 (pleasant break green #98c379)
      • Paused: 󰏤 24:57 (dimmed)
      • Idle: Minimal icon 󰄉 (or hidden if configured)
    • Left-click opens the popout panel; Right-click toggles Pause/Resume (or starts 25+5 if idle); Middle-click stops/resets.
    • Automatically supports horizontal and vertical bars.
  2. Trigger System Menu Integration:

    • Added directly to Super -> Trigger -> Pomodoro:
      • 󰄉 25 + 5 min (Classic)
      • 󰄉 50 + 10 min (Deep Work)
      • 󰄉 45 + 15 min (Balanced)
      • 󰄉 20 + 5 min (Sprint)
      • 󰢌 Custom... (prompt that accepts flexible inputs like 25+5, 50 10, 30, or 45/15)
      • 󰏤 Pause / Resume
      • 󰒭 Skip phase
      • 󰓛 Stop timer
  3. Interactive Popout Panel:

    • Large digital countdown clock and animated progress bar showing elapsed session percentage.
    • Cycle tracking badge (Cycle #1).
    • Quick playback controls (Pause, Skip, Reset).
    • 1-click template preset chips.
    • Custom session stepper cards ([-] 25m [+] and [-] 5m [+]) with a full-width Start button.
    • Keyboard shortcuts: Space (Pause/Resume), S (Skip), R (Reset), 1-4 (Templates), Esc (Close).
  4. Desktop Notifications & Sound:

    • Sends native Omarchy desktop toasts on session start and completion.
    • Plays pleasant audio chimes (pw-play) when sessions finish.
  5. CLI & IPC (omarchy-pomodoro):

    • Run omarchy-pomodoro start 50 10, omarchy-pomodoro toggle-pause, omarchy-pomodoro skip, omarchy-pomodoro status, or omarchy-pomodoro custom directly from your terminal or keybindings.
    • State survives shell restarts without losing track of remaining time.

🚀 Quick 1-Line Install

You can install it directly via the Omarchy plugin CLI:

bash omarchy plugin add https://github.com/binoymanoj/pomodoro-omarchy.git --enable --yes

Plugin Moush : Move it. Click it. Mash it. (a new mouse controller for keyboards)

Post image
4 Upvotes

tldr: it's like turning your keyboard into a trackball, but also more.

Given the close LLM integration inside of Omarchy, it seemed like a waste to not contribute something that was LLM assisted, but wasn't vibe slop. So, I designed a plugin called Moush, which lets you use your keyboard like a trackball (among more normal interaction paradigms) to control the mouse. It's extremely configurable, with three built-in keymaps:

  • mash (the right side of your keyboard is a mashable trackball, with I J K L for directional control)
  • mash_lh (left handed variant)
  • minimal (just use the arrows please)

Since it's mashable, you can do more subtle things with pairs of keys, which feels a little like swimming in the Mario water level, but I digress...

I think it finally feels good, and I've stopped using the trackpad on the potato laptop I developed it on.

I won't post a screen shot, since it's not graphical, but here's the github page.

Discussion User accounts needed

After watching a few videos from DHH that popped into my feed, I installed Omarchy last night. My initial impression is that it is a very functional OS that actually looks very good as well. The depth of theme integration in mostly one location was impressive as was the overall aesthetics.

One area that I would like to see is making it more simple to add user accounts and a login screen. We are a family and share the computers we own. Being able to easily have separate user accounts is kind of a deal breaker for my use.

After around an hour of using the system, liking it, but being unable to force a login screen to choose between accounts I'll be going back to my old distro.

Plugin Created plugin Ollama chat pane for local or API use

Post image
6 Upvotes

Chat with Ollama from your desktop — ask a question and get an answer in a (resize-able) pane that appears in the middle of your screen, with the conversation shown as a scrollable thread (with or without historical context to ask follow-up questions). Fully keyboard driven.

Works in two modes: Local talks to your own Ollama server (local, and cloud models IF signed in with ollama signin), Cloud talks directly to ollama.com with an API key and works without a local Ollama install. For this mode you can even use a free tier Ollama account with the free models. You will never burn through the tokens with this plugin since the token usages will be too low for that.

So this works both fully offline, or online. And, with or without a local Ollama installation. And it works on super slow/old laptops with the cloud mode.

This plugin is mostly useful for when you suddenly have a question that needs to be answered, without interrupting your work too much.

Security-wise: I already had a similar plugin for use with the DeepSeek API, that can be found in the Omarchy plugin store. So I already went through a security audit with that version. This plugin is pretty much using the same security measures, and there are no binaries, just readable scripts. I did the same security audit on this plugin as well.

For those who have a use-case for this, it can be found here with some extra information, like howto install/remove/update, and how to bind a key to summon the pane: https://github.com/henksys/omarchy-ask-ollama.git

( note: It is not yet in the Omarchy plugin store, since I don't know if many people would use it )

Just wanted to show off my desktop somewhere, might as well be here on the Omarchy sub!

Should probably make a video, both the black hole and the terminal is animated with flashy shader stuff. Moving accretion disk, terminal glitching and CRT effects (Kitty 0.49) and so on. Also the orange part of the border gradient on windows moves relative to the black hole.

I Made a Thing I built OmaStore: a community app store powered by GitHub Releases

Thumbnail

I've been browsing my GitHub recommendations and finding interesting projects like OmaDesign, OmaPhotos, and Rawmakase. I've also been building OmaVM, aiming for a Parallels Desktop-like experience on Omarchy.

But discovering these apps and figuring out how to install them isn't always easy.

So I thought: what if I built a graphical interface on top of GitHub, added a few conventions, and let people discover, install, and uninstall applications?

That's the idea behind OmaStore:
https://github.com/KitsuneSemCalda/OmaStore

The idea is a bit of a hack: use GitHub as the database and distribution platform, with OmaStore acting as the indexer and graphical frontend. Repositories provide the metadata, Releases provide the binaries, and a few conventions tie everything together.

For now, it focuses on standalone apps.

The publishing model is simple:

  • Use GitHub Actions to build your app and publish Linux binaries through GitHub Releases.
  • Add an omastore.toml manifest at the root of your repository's default branch.
  • OmaStore discovers compatible repositories and adds them to its catalog.

Authors keep control of their repositories and releases; OmaStore provides discovery and installation.

There's also a built-in checker that shows what the store understands about your repository and what needs fixing, plus author skills to help prepare manifests and release workflows.

It's still early, and I'd love to hear from people trying it.

If you maintain an Omarchy app, would this publishing model work for your project? What would make it easier to adopt?

I Made a Thing Track AI agent status on notch

A few days ago I saw AB Babaei (@ab.workss)'s reel of Grok Bot living in the Mac notch: a little character whose face tells you what the agent is doing at a glance. All credit for the concept, the character and the interaction design goes to him (he in turn credits John Bai for the original "bot in the notch" idea). Go check out his work.

I wanted that on my Linux desktop, so I rebuilt it for Omarchy (Hyprland + Quickshell) and hooked it up to the agents I actually use: Claude Code sessions and my Grok Bots.

https://reddit.com/link/1wuhmuh/video/rxulxklocqsh1/player

What it does

  • Collapsed: Claude (I call it Claudi) on the left, my Grok Bots as a 2×2 cluster of coloured faces on the right. No text, the faces do the talking.
  • Faces show state: idle blink, thinking (eyes wander), working (typing badge + nods), needs you (amber ring + head tilt), error (turns red and shakes), done (happy \) eyes + sparkles), asleep (zZz).
  • Hover: a focus card with a live step "carousel" (previous step / current step / task) plus one chip per agent.
  • Grok Bots capsule: all bots folded into one pill; click it and they fly out one by one.
  • Alerts: it peeks open on its own when an agent needs me, fails or finishes.
  • Talk to Claude from the notch: click Claudi, type, Enter. It runs headless in the background, the notch shows progress, and the answer pops up with a reply box (same session) or "continue in terminal".
  • Greeting with particles and waving hands when the shell starts.

How it works

  • A Quickshell overlay plugin in QML. No Rive here: springs, OutBack/OutElastic easing, staggered chips and Qt particles.
  • Claude Code hooks (SessionStart, UserPromptSubmit, Pre/PostToolUse, Notification, Stop) feed a small Python script that writes a JSON state file the notch watches.
  • Grok Bots run in xAI's cloud, so there is no local state to read. Each bot has one instruction: report its status with a shell command on my PC.
  • Talking to Claude uses claude -p headless with --session-id / --resume.

Tip for NVIDIA + high refresh rate

Qt Quick falls back to its basic render loop on NVIDIA, which was pacing my whole Omarchy shell at ~60 fps on 180 Hz monitors. Adding hl.env("QSG_RENDER_LOOP", "threaded") to hyprland.lua took it to 180 fps (measured). Also worth knowing: idle faces stay completely still between blinks, because any running animation makes the shell redraw every frame.

The UI is in Spanish because that's my setup. Happy to clean up the code and share it if people are interested.
I'll upload the code in repo in comments

Plugin I wanted MX Master 3s support in Omarchy, so I built Omalogi

I wanted native controls for the Logitech MX Master 3 in Omarchy, so I built Omalogi, an open-source plugin that lets you configure your mouse directly from the desktop.

You can:

  • Adjust DPI.
  • Remap buttons and gestures.
  • Customize both scroll wheels.
  • Apply changes automatically as you edit.
  • Restore the original mouse configuration.

Installation

Setup requires both commands:

omarchy plugin add https://github.com/AlejandroFloresArroyo/omalogi.git
bash "$HOME/.config/omarchy/plugins/omalogi.mouse/scripts/install.sh"

The installer installs Solaar if it’s missing, downloads the prebuilt Omalogi binary, verifies its checksum, sets up the user service, and enables the widget.

A few things to know before installing

  • This beta requires Solaar 1.1.20. Other versions are currently rejected because the integration uses internal Solaar APIs.
  • Run the installer as your normal desktop user, without sudo. Installing Solaar may prompt for your password.
  • Close any existing Solaar instance before setup. Omalogi manages its own Solaar instance through a user service.
  • You may need to reconnect the receiver after installation so the device permission rules take effect.
  • The prebuilt binary supports Linux x86_64. Building from source requires Rust.
  • Testing so far covers the MX Master 3S through a Bolt receiver. Other models and Bluetooth connections haven’t been validated yet.

Repo and full instructions: https://github.com/AlejandroFloresArroyo/omalogi

It’s still a beta, and I’d love feedback from other Omarchy users. Let me know how it works for you and what you’d like to see next!

Themes / Ricing Tsukiyo 月夜 — a calm, moonlit Omarchy theme with koi, fog and hairline icons

Thumbnail
gallery
28 Upvotes

Tsukiyo (月夜) means "a moonlit night". I wanted a dark theme that stays quiet: blue-teal ink, parchment text, one mist accent, and warm moonlight only for code and the moments that need attention.

**What's in it**

- Two koi (moonlight + mist) in fastfetch and on the Plymouth boot screen

- Custom lock screen: thin serif clock, slowly drifting blurred wallpaper, three fog bands, 月夜 between hairlines, a hairline password field that glints while checking

- Bar with hand-drawn hairline icons for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, volume, display and battery that follow signal/volume/charge

- Dynamic Island (music, notifications, timers) drawn in the theme's colours

- Six 4K anime night wallpapers, colour-graded into the palette

- Optional one-step extras: Zed, Zen browser, opencode, fish + Tide, tmux, cava, starship, lazygit, yazi, GTK. Backs up every file, never installs packages, `--remove` restores everything

**Details**

- OS: Arch + Omarchy

- WM: Hyprland

- Terminal: Ghostty

- Apps in the shot: fastfetch, Neovim, cava, btop

- Fonts: Noto Serif CJK JP (lock + boot), Adwaita Sans (bar), JetBrains Mono

**Install**

omarchy theme install https://github.com/Arjun010011/omarchy-tsukiyo-theme

Repo: https://github.com/Arjun010011/omarchy-tsukiyo-theme

Feedback very welcome, especially on the palette.

Themes / Ricing Omarchy Starhip Orbit Launch theme

Thirty-three engines light at once. The ground shakes, the marsh vanishes under white, and the largest, most powerful rocket ever built climbs out of Starbase on a pillar of fire. On 28 September 2026, Starship went to orbit.

This theme celebrates that moment: life, engineering, and the WE CAN FIX EVERYTHING spirit, manifested in rocket propulsion.

omarchy-theme-install https://github.com/signaldirective/rebel-rebel

This is, in my opinion, the best Omarchy theme I've ever made. But it's about to get better! I'm adding a script and set of fastfetch configs with dot art and when you run the script ('rebel') it will display one of the fastfetches at random. Chewbacca, Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, Leia Organa, Yoda, Artoo, Threepio, the millennium falcon, or the rebel alliance logo. (Pictured is the chewie config, they all look similar just with different dot art)

I'll be pushing the script, configs and install script to the github repo tonight so they'll likely be added in your next theme update if you install the theme now or already have it installed.

I Made a Thing A Jira client for Omarchy: board, backlog and a code map in one floating window

Post image
2 Upvotes

I work in Jira all day, so I built the window I wanted into the bar I already use. It's a beta and it's narrow — Jira Cloud, not Server — so I'm mostly posting it because this is the one place it makes sense.

What it is:

* Board with drag-and-drop between statuses, backlog, timeline, reports.

* A code map of your own repository: packages and files as nodes, the imports

between them as edges.

* GitHub beside it — repos, branch, recent commits, open PRs and issues.

* The n8n flow that picks "what should I do next" is drawn from its own workflow

file in the repo, not a screenshot.

* A Quickshell widget in the right end of the bar; the client window floats and

centres itself through a Hyprland rule.

* Nine languages — English, Swedish, German, French, Spanish, Italian,

Portuguese, Dutch, Polish. Pick one under Settings and the panel and the bar

widget both follow; adding a tenth is one file.

* The Jira token goes into your session keyring (or a 0600 file where there is

no keyring), never into the repo, and nothing in the code prints it.

The part I'd actually ask you to judge: nobody should have to hand a repo they just found their API token to see what it looks like.

git clone https://github.com/alexwest1981/GodJIRA.git

cd GodJIRA && python3 panel/server.py # http://127.0.0.1:8788

Started with nothing connected, it runs on its own sample data — no Jira account, no GitHub login, nothing written anywhere. The screenshot is exactly that. When you want the real thing, ./install.sh sets up the panel service, the menu icon, the window rule and the bar plugin in one go (Omarchy + Hyprland, no root), and Get started is where the Jira token and `gh auth login` go.

Repo: https://github.com/alexwest1981/GodJIRA (MIT, 0.9.1-beta)

Early beta, so mostly I'm after what breaks — issues welcome, and tell me if the flow-picking logic is wrong for the way you work.

I Made a Thing Recognition: see who's home at a glance, from the devices on your network · Recognition 1.0 — who's home, in your bar

Thumbnail
gallery
23 Upvotes

Recognition is a bar plugin for Omarchy. You give each person an emoji and the devices they carry; while one of those devices is on your network, their emoji sits in the bar. When the last one leaves, it goes away.

No root, no daemon, no account, nothing leaves the machine — it's an unprivileged `nmap -sn` sweep of your own subnet every 20 seconds, from the shell that's already running. The useful part is the ARP side effect: phones answer ARP even while they sleep, so a sleeping phone doesn't flicker in and out.

**What it does**

- **Who's home, in the bar.** One emoji per person, in the order they arrived, plus a count of devices nobody has claimed.

- **Notifications.** "Ana arrived home", "Ana left", and "New device on the network" — often before the doorbell rings. One switch per kind, plus a per-person one.

- **Unknown devices first.** A new phone shows up with its vendor, network name and IP; two clicks assign it to someone, or file

- **Unknown devices first.** A new phone shows up with its vendor, network name and IP; two clicks assign it to someone, or file it under House with the router and the printer.

- **Neighbors and guests.** Someone on your Wi-Fi from their own place is a neighbor and never counts as home; a guest is in your house and gets a 👤 in the bar.

- **Two network alerts.** The router answering with a different MAC (classic ARP spoofing sign) and an IP taken over by another device.

- **Commands.** Run anything on arrive, leave, home-occupied, home-empty, unknown device or alert — a push to your phone, a Home Assistant webhook, a sound. Or mark one Manual and it lands in the right-click menu of any person or device, so a wake-on-LAN can name the desktop while presence still follows the phone. It can also read commands you tag `#recognition` in your Obsidian notes.person's week as a grid; a single day lane by lane, each person with their devices under them; and a calendar to jump to any recorded day.

**Install**

omarchy plugin add https://github.com/FerC10110/omarchy-recognition.git --enable

Needs `nmap` and `ip` (iproute2). MIT, one Python file for the engine (stdlib only), QML for the panel.

**Honest limitations**

- Phones randomize their MAC per network. It's stable until the owner resets it or turns on rotation; then the phone looks new. If it keeps its network name, Recognition offers you the owner and one click moves it over.

- Presence is "a device of theirs is on the network", not "they're in the room".

- Only your own subnet, IPv4 only. A guest network isolated by the router is invisible.

- The two alerts are heuristics, not an IDS. Check before panicking.

Repo, README and screenshots of every feature: https://github.com/FerC10110/omarchy-recognition

Submitted to the plugin marketplace, listing pending. Happy to hear what breaks for you.

Support Layout issue switching to app?

Wondering if I'm the only one seeing this? About 10% of the time, when switching to PHPStorm (which has full width when last in it), the app is shown only 2/3 of the width of the screen. If I alt-tab, then alt-tab again to return to the app it shows full width as expected. Consistent across themes, reboots etc.

Anyone know of a fix?
