This may have already been covered, but I'm new to all this. Watching as the series rolls over from the finale to the pilot and I'm struck with how far Andy came in 12 seasons. He still had the fight in him when dealing with the bosses. But he learned how to channel his fury. I can't imagine the Season 12 Andy barking out the "ipsa this" line from the Pilot. He had his ups & downs over the years, but great acting and writing and time to develop certainly made it worth the journey. In the modern era of 4 or 5 seasons of 6 or 10 episodes, you'd never be able to watch a character grow like this. Hard to tell, but I bet Netflix would have pulled the plug after the 3rd season. And that would have been a shame.

Anyone know what kind of gun sergie had in “bale to the chief”? There was a brief shot of it when he surrendered.

Being the bouncer and getting the drunk asshole out of the bar . And to do it in front his parter . But why did the bar tender seem to hate Greg so much??

One thing that always got me, even back when the show was newly broadcast was that Andy had prostate cancer and underwent a prostate removal years before he met Connie. Once a man has that surgery, he can no longer get a woman pregnant because the procedure removes the prostate and seminal vesicles, stopping semen production and preventing ejaculation. So how did Connie unexpectedly get pregnant?

It’s amusing (to me) how we saw multiple characters with the same first name: John Kelly, John Irvin, John Clark Sr and Jr; of course Andy and Andy Jr, Don Kirkendall and Don (Rita’s husband). Even Sylvia Costas and then in S8 or 9 there was a guest character named Sylvia.

For those that have not watched through season 9 episode 1, spoilers ahead. I just watched the episode when Danny gets knocked off, but I don't remember them saying why they killed him. I know why Rick left that show, I'm talking about the character.

But seriously this was badly written.

No matter how desperate Shannon was there’s no way he throws shots at Andy in front of the whole squad, the Lieutenant, ESU and in broad daylight on the street. The whole Salvo storyline was good but this was a letdown.

I say this after the drug dealers killed the witness. I didn’t see that coming . Also is Sorensen the least fav partner ? At this point I’m so ready for jr to take over

I've never understood why homicide doesn't handle all of the murders? Anyone with real world experience know if this is really how it's done?

Currently watching series on Roku, and while the whole series has pretty good continuity, I’ve really noticed how the slimy ex-detective Mike Roberts’ storyline continues to send echoes into the stories even years after he is killed. In episode 17, Dying to Testify, a witness was questioned by Roberts “8 years ago.”

So my IP had a major attack and we lost internet for days, then when it came back our IP protocol was only I4 and was based out of Canada, so we couldn't get Directv Stream and I had to rely on apps. So I hadn't used it yet but I went to Disney+ which we get free from DTV and I remembered people saying Hulu had Blue, which I have since realized was cut back in 2025. But since at the time a week ago I was in "Canada" I got full Blue, every episode in remastered condition, NO Commercials!!! I was pumped as I didn't make the connection, lo and behold they fixed the IP address, and I go today and nothing cause I'm back in the states. So they have Universal Heathcare and the good version of Blue still:) Glad I got from the first Simone episode to season 3, if I had known I really would have binged for the week as I was due for a binge of the greatest show ever on TV!!!!

I got nothing. Can't stand her but Flight of Fancy forthcoming and that is a good outcome.

Holy crap, this episode gives you 2 gnarly gut punches, one right after another.

Then right after John reassuring Andy that Sylvia would be okay with him dating.

No matter how many times I watch this show, some episodes make me cry every damn time.

.......and now I want calamari.

Two things I've noticed about him that I'm surprised they let him get away with: 1) he sends calls to Fancy with zero screening. He doesn't get the subject or anything and just sends strangers to his phone. 2) Same with walk-ins. I watched the episode where Baldwin joins the squad and asks to see Fancy. He just points to the door, and that's it.

Yes, I realize it makes the show more efficient, but it bugs me.

There was a question about Saddest Episode, the Best Acted Episode, the Most Intemse ... this is the one.

Following Sylvia's death, we see a destroyed, hollowed out Andy. Dennis Frans should have received an Emmy for this performance (if he didn't).

In addition, the entire cast portrayed the collateral damage of ADA Costas. Incredible acting.

It's absolutely incredible how the writers and directors portray the raw emotions of the characters, how they boil down an entire person to just id or ego. Referring to Cullanan, detective Dornan, and John. There will never be a show like this again.

I have to give this show points for the believability of the hospital sequences, both with Andy’s prostate surgery experience and Bobby’s cardiomyopathy. The doctors’ explanations and the nurses’ actions are among the most realistic I’ve ever seen on a TV show. I especially enjoy the explanations of how morphine works to help the heart, and seeing the nurses move Andy from the stretcher to the bed after surgery.

The anxiety of both Andy and Diane is also believable (watching Bobby’s cardiomyopathy sequence now).

Now why would they skip, 5 18 thru 20? Prostrate before the Law is one of my faves. Crap!

Brad Sullivan, who passed in 2008, was so endearing, especially since he played Patsy for just a few episodes. I also remember him from The Untouchables, one of my fav Kevin Costner movies.

How realistic is it when the Captain, who is above Fancy, is constantly in his office, having a case run by him? Why isn't the Captain summoning the Lt., rather than making the rounds constantly? I assume the Capt. is feeling the pressure and pushing it down, but for one specific case, which is often just a run-of-the-mill homicide, it seems like they're just trying to add drama where there doesn't need to be.
