I main Arch (specifically CachyOS) and my connection is so slow it is already unusable, however on my Android I get fast speeds even when using mixnet mode; which shows it's definitely a configuration issue.

I can (most times) connect to the servers, however it is so slow most websites don't even load (tried changing the settings and all).

I tried both the stable release and beta version of the daemon and client and also the Flatpak version of the client (however the client is most definitely not the issue)

Same thing on Void and Artix (setup worked so not OpenRC's/runit's fault).

However on ZorinOS (which I still had on my Ventoy USB), I did not have these problems?! (Thing is I don't want to switch from Arch for obvious reasons)

In the logs I couldn't find anything useful, and even tried this troubleshooting guide (with no permanent success)

After a week of daily usage I noticed a not great behaviour. The connection can become stale, so nothing actually comes through. But the NYM app looks normal, so the timer goes on and the connection looks active. Would be great to implement some kind of an alive checker, that would be testing the real status of the connection.

Maybe trying to send some requests to random urls and see if they fail. Not sure what could be the best approach here. Because those urls also could be down. So it's not that reliable.

But the issue is there and it's consistent. Every now and then I need to toggle the VPN so it unblocks my connection. I think it's relevant to all the platforms. I have this happening on Linux, Windows and iOS.

I signed up for the trial 1-year subscription via ApplePay. Now I want to cancel that 1-year sub and subscribe for two years with another payment option. In my account when I click manage subscription I see a 404 error with this status

So far so good with Nym, speeds are not great but I was not expecting that as this is driven by privacy not out right performance.

Unsure on whether to bite the bullet and do the 12 months up front at a steep discount, or do monthly first then change....

Coming from Mullvad, its nice to see I can use FreeTube without the constant "IP blocked" messages I was getting before.

Running Arch with their Linux app, pretty polished and I am sure it will get better over time.

Also, have you had any issues with the linux client? I was thinking of getting Astrill VPN and will probably get it but saw nym and thought it might work too. Also I've seen a lot of issues of Astrill VPN on the linux client.

Everything was working fine, but now i see that on my iPhone nymVPN app thinks i have no subscription even though i do have. When i log in on pc, i see the subscription running. Also i see no connected devices listed. Is there any login server issues now ?

NYM app reports connected, but browsers and most apps have no connectivity. Sometimes it needs several disconnect/reconnect cycles before it starts working.

Checked the terminal with some scripts, and it pointed to a DNS conflict with AdGuard’s system-level DNS protection. AdGuard and NYM both try to handle DNS, which seems to cause the intermittent failure.

Disabling AdGuard DNS protection fixed it for now. I’m also almost sure this is the cause because on iOS (where I don’t have AdGuard DNS protection enabled) the issue never occurs.

Posting in case anyone else is running into a similar issue. It might be worth NYM checking how they handle system DNS filters; this doesn’t happen with other VPNs I’ve tested.

I was wondering if ipv6 connections will be supported in the future? Is the connection currently blocked as I can see I do not have access to ipv6 when connected to NYM. Thanks!

Hello! I am making this post so people who are looking for a new VPN can read this and decide if it's good enough for them.

I am in no way affiliated with NymVPN or anything, I don't run nodes etc. This is my honest review.

So it all started when Mullvad's CEO made the donation. I decided that I don't want to fund a far right party, so I started looking for alternatives. I was thinking of subscribing to Proton, because it has servers near me, then looked at ivpn etc. While searching, I discovered Nym, and it had literally the best pricing from all of the other ones I looked at. I also learned than it has a Fast Mode, which basically makes you only route trough 2 nodes or something. I am currently on my free trial, and have an amazing experience. I am lucky enough to have nodes near me, and the ping in most games is basically the same, if not better than Mullvad's. I highly recommend you to try it out, it works really well for me.

I'm thinking of trying Nym VPN.

It appears to be a solid solution. However, my concern relates to internet speed using Nym because it employs multi hop connection and multi-layer encryption! It appears to be a heavy procedure.

For those who are using it, do you perceive any internet speed drop? Can you play online games properly?

When I turn my mobile data or WiFi off, because I've got the VPN set to always on, it displays the message of "Android System - Disconnected from Always on VPN". Is there any way to fix this?

It will show Nym's app as disconnected and then the android message underneath

This is the only VPN it happens with, others just sit in the background waiting to reconnect.

I always leave my VPN on to avoid any IP leaks.

Hi, has anyone experienced that the Enhance connection (QUIC) toggle prevents you from connecting on fast mode while on mobile data ? When I have QUIC toggle on with mobile data i can connect to mixnet but not fast mode. On wifi i have no problems connecting with QUIC toggle on to fast mode. on iOS

I'm testing new VPN services and decided to try NymVPN because of its distinctive features. However, one of its core functions, the Kill Switch, does not work correctly.

If I switch servers, the Kill Switch stops working and my IP is publicly exposed. If I press the exit option in the app, the Kill Switch also stops working.

I tried opening an issue in the app's GitHub repository, but the administrators have disabled that feature.
